Prepare to be very surprised with how comfortable and convenient Fish Tale is for your vacation. The view is spectacular, the floor plan is open and comfortable, and unlike many houses along the beach we are only steps from the nearest beach access so no driving needed!
Fish Tale is the home on Bald Head that you will rent year after year. Just ask our guests! Walk through the front door, take in the sweeping views of the Atlantic from almost every window, and relax instantly on the huge sofa in the wide open floor plan. You will soon be sharing your own 'Fish Tales' with friends about your adventures on Bald Head Island.

This home is perfect for two-three families or 3 couples, with 2 master suites (king beds), a queen bedroom, and a bunk room with full twin bunks, built in bunks suitable for teens and younger (not quite twin size mattress) and full size crib.
Dining in? No problem! The kitchen is very well stocked (many families say they will always rent for Thanksgiving due to many pots, pans, appliances, serving ware, etc). Add to that a large round dining table that easily seats up to 10 with spectacular views of the ocean!
The open floor plan with a soaring ceiling makes living in Fish Tale most enjoyable. The living area is open to the kitchen, dining area, and sunroom. Although it is open, the bedrooms are tucked privately off the open living area. There are also several sitting areas to read, puzzle, enjoy coffee, or just admire the view. The most popular places to relax however, are the sunroom to view the sunrise and the deck to soak in the sunset. Just gorgeous!
Fish Tale truly has something for everyone. We provide high speed wireless internet and DVR service on the TV. So you can head to the beach but not miss your game, favorite show, or golf match. Although this is not a new home, it sure has fun, updated furnishings and linens. All guests comment on the comfortable and high quality beds, pillows, and linens.
We are extremely kid and beach friendly! Home includes a high chair, booster chair, 2 full cribs, pack and play, toys, books, and beach and pool toys and floats/boards. You will enjoy the quality beach chairs, beach towels, beach bags, and private outdoor shower. Our goal is to be sure all amenities are in working order and ready for you! We provide access to one double kayak as well. Let the exploring begin!!
Fish Tale is conveniently located on South Beach just steps from a beach access. We are close to the Bald Head Island Club, the Maritime Market. Two 4-seater golf carts are available for your use.
Access to the BHI club is available with separate purchase directly through the club.

Fish Tale is a wonderful home. Great view of the beach from the deck, well appointed and lovely, clean home. Great place for a large group or small gathering. The owners are very generous with usage of bicycles, beach equipment, etc.

The house is very comfortable and spacious. The photos do it justice. The kitchen is stocked with everything. The view of the sunset and sunbathing on the front deck is amazing. The house is located in a good location on the island because it’s a short drive to the grocery store and restaurants. It also has a beach access right across the street.

Excellent House

Bald Head Island is my family's favorite place to take a beach vacation. This house is very well appointed and functional. Anything you could want to have available was there, including gas and charcoal grills, beach toys, and bikes, and the kitchen set up and bunk beds in the kids room were great. The view is tremendous, and there was plenty of space for two families to relax and spread out. The owners were quick with responses to reserve the property as well as refund the security deposit. I would definitely stay here again.

Perfect house!

After staying in countless beach houses up and down the east coast, Fish Tales was one of the best. Wonderfully equipped kitchen, great beach chairs, spacious outdoor shower, comfy beds and phenomenal views. The owners were very attentive and when we had a fan issue, maintenance was there in an hour! We had plenty of room for the 10 people in our party and with 4 teenage girls, that is a must;) Thanks so much for sharing your lovely home with us!

Nicely equipped beach cottage

This property was a wonderful place to stay the week after my daughter’s wedding. Great location across from the beach. Cute beach cottage, fully equipped. The only minor problem was large palmetto bugs all over the house. Might need an exterminator to come spray. Other than that, perfect!

Amazing beach front home!

Beautiful home! Pictures do not do not accurately show how amazing this home is. Right across the street from beach actress. 3 golf carts, one of which was brand new and comfortably fit all 4 of us. 2 masters on opposite sides of the home, everyone has plenty of space! Cannot wait to return!

We had a fantastic stay at this property - I was pleasantly surprised to find it to be much more spacious and updated in the living areas than I was expecting. There were ample toys for the babies and young kids to play with, we didn't need to unpack any toys that we bought. I was expecting larger/newer golf carts, but the 2 4-seater carts did the job just fine! The kitchen was awesome, overall stay was fantastic. Just wish we would have booked longer!

A Home Away from Home

This house boasts a great open floorplan with plenty of windows, natural light and views to enjoy, while also providing cozy spots throughout for quite moments. The kitchen is very workable and wonderfully stocked. Our young son was excited to find a section just for him with toys and a great spot to play in the sun room. We've returned to BHI for several years and we found this house met so many of our needs. It is truly a warm and inviting house. Thank you for sharing!

This house was great for our 2 families when we stayed last spring. There was plenty of room for the kids and adults. Big, spacious rooms, open floorplan. Everything works. The best part was the excellent deck for cocktails overlooking the ocean, beach is right there. Well equipped with nice furniture, great beds- no need to bring my own pillows or linens. Plenty of beach toys and chairs, golf carts. The location in middle of south beach is ideal mid-island. No problems at all. highly recommended.

GREAT HOUSE

Fish Tale is a comfortable, well lived-in house that is easy to love. Our family came to Bald Head for the first time and stayed at Fish Tale. Perfectly located close to everything, Fish Tale has great decks and living spaces. We loved the crabbing, kite flying and reading. The library is great. Excellent tables for puzzles and games. The satellite radio was a nice surprize, and the kitchen had great gadgets. Everything is well-organized and the beds and linens were of superior quality. We will return again. Thank you for sharing your wonderful house with us.

This house has too much clutter, too many baby toys. Air conditioning was a problem in the entire house and a portable unit was not working well for the master bedroom. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was recently remodeled. The rest of the house was somewhat dated showing signs of wear and tear. Overall we had a great time because we love BHI!

Wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful stay with three families all with small children. The bunk room was perfect for the kids and the other three bedrooms were great for the adults. The best part was the sun room area with ALL the TOYS! We didn’t have to unpack any of the toys we brought and the kiddos had a blast. Everything was clean and well organized. The only criticism that we have is that having only two 4-person golf carts was difficult when the house slept so many people. Everything else was wonderful and well stocked! Kitchen was above average. The cooking appliances and the kitchen tools were way above expectations. We loved being able to walk to the beach. The toys and crab pots were great to have as well.

Fish Tale is a relaxing, beautiful, comfortable well-appointed house that is ideally located in the center of Bald Head Island. I have stayed at Fish Tale twice and can't wait to go back again. The ocean views are gorgeous and the deck is perfect. The kitchen is easy to use and the shared spaces are very nicely laid out so the children can play without interfering with others' relaxation. The beds and linens are of high quality and the house is very clean and tidy. The decorating is fresh and fun. You can get to the beach in less than a minute on foot, and the alligator and turtle pond is quick golf cart ride away. The kids loved the great toys available both in and under the house. Fish Tale is our favorite house to visit on the island. It is a great house for the rental price and I highly recommend this property to all visitors to BHI.

Fantastic Stay!!

We absolutely love staying at Fish. Tale. Everything about it was a pleasant surprise! The house was extremely clean, bright and sunny. We had three toddlers with us and certainly did not need to bring one toy! There is a wonderful area for play complete with toys, cars, books and building blocks. The house is located right across from Beach Access 17. It was easy for everyone to come and go. The outdoor shower with plenty of warm water was a major plus. It also serves to keep the house very clean.The kitchen is fabulous and well equipped. We loved spending our days at the beach and pools, and we loved coming home to Great family dinners and evenings at Fish Tale. Thank you for providing this fabulous property.

Worst stay at BHI

We have stayed at BHI about a dozen times. This was the worst stay yet. For the price you pay, there should be no issues. First issue when we got there was the freezer. It had ice built up below the freezer so the door wouldn't shut. Water was melted all over the floor. Had to call maintenance and freezer couldn't be used. Next was main living room TV. No picture, only sound. Called maintenance. TV is not working and needs to be replaced. So we all as a family could not watch TV together. Everyone ended up in separate rooms to watch TV. Next, we were short towels and floor mats for some reason. Come to find out after 2 days, most of the hand towels, floor mats, kitchen towels were still in the dryer! Cleaniness was poor at best. All of our feet were black if walking around barefoot. Microwave needs replacing. Stove could only get to 350 and worked iintermittently. We ended up having to broil anything we put in there because the oven couldn't get hot enough. Needless to say, almost everything we needed to use or required had an issue. This was a BHI managed property and we will never use them again.
