Quiet Clean Traverse City Condo

The condo was exactly as explained. We were so appreciative of the quiet and cleanliness. The location was perfect for going to Traverse and surrounding areas. The beach and the sunsets were spectacular. We also appreciated the boat rental being so close.

Our stay was wonderful at the condo! We had no issues checking in and out. The apartment was clean and cozy. Some of the pans and utensils could be replaced on the kitchen but it was usable and not an issue. The host provided a bottle of wine and a wine tasting pass. Overall a great stay!

Communication was good until I checked in. 15 minutes after I entered the condo another woman open the door and said she had rented it for the exact same time. I told her I was already unpacked. I communicated to the management team that there were no no pans, cutting board or knives in the condo to cook with. They did not call me or communicate. I took a ton of food to cook for three days and had absolutely nothing to cook.. This was not a camping trip I should not have had to bring supplies from my house. I asked for a partial refund on my stay and have not heard anything in the last 48 hours.

They cancelled our stay an hour before check-in

We were about an hour away( 6 hour drive) and we got a text that our reservation was cancelled( should have been a phone call!) We pulled off the interstate and called immediately and they said that they found bed bugs. They did not offer any help, but after asking them a few more questions we found out they had a reservation available through Thursday, which was better than nothing. We asked if there was a possibility of something opening up for the last night, and they said possibly. I had to initiate any conversation, and they never let us know, so we left Thursday and found a hotel for the last night. VERY POOR COMMUNICATION. I continued to receive messages about checkout and such that indicated we were checking out on Friday, but also received a message that our reservation was cancelled?

Great Location!

The condo is part of Grand Traverse and centrally located to Elk Rapids, TART trails, Traverse City, and casino. There are many other things to do within a short distance!

Wonderful place, hard beds

The location was wonderful. It was a quiet wooded area. Not every condo at this location is directly on the water. Ours was a short walk to the beach, where there was sand, beach chairs, and a water sports area. The pool was closed due to COVID. The apartment had a kitchen and the location was a short drive to a grocery store to pick up anything that was needed. The apartment was clean and nicely appointed. The main queen size bed mattress was very hard. The pull out couch mattress was very springy (meaning you could feel every one).

Worst place ever!

Silly me! It said this condo was beachside and never mentioned what floor it was on. It wasn’t anywhere near the beach and was on the third floor with no elevator. The private beach was an absolute joke , and the swimming pool was for condo owners only! I would never recommend The Shores in Williamsburg, MI, to anyone! I have learned the hard way to make phone calls and ask a lot of questions about any rental property!

Hi John, I feel your title is a little extreme. With that said, I am very sorry to hear you felt this way. We hope all our guests make great memories and have a lovely time here.. We've had nothing but happy guests here this summer and we have a ton of returning guests year after year that ask for the Shores specifically as it is great for them and their families. Unfortunately the water was at a record high this year than previous years so the beach was smaller than normal. Something that is out of our control. As far as the condo being beachside.. The whole complex is known as beachside.. I understand it takes 2-3 minutes to walk to the beach from this unit. I am truly sorry you weren't happy with your stay - as I mentioned; 99% of our guests love it here. I wish you'd reached out to us so there was a way we could have helped bring more enjoyment to your stay at the time.. My best, Christian
