We loved our stay. The views are incredible. You can see for miles and at night, you can even see the Pigeon Forge strip. We stayed in March and thought the views were stunning. I can only imagine how beautiful it is during the fall. The owner was great and very responsive. She provided plenty of towels for both showers and the hot tub. It was a comfortable cabin. While close to restaurants and activities, you didn’t feel on top of your neighbors. It is a steep drive, which the owner clearly stated. We enjoyed our time immensely. Definitely recommend.
Overall this was a great cabin! The GPS took us right to it and the roads were fine for our 2WD sedan. The hot tub was a nice plus and the views were amazing even in the winter. The only negative we had was the amount of stinkbugs and ladybugs. I lost count of how many I had to flush. We had to keep a light on in the kitchen to keep them away from the bed upstairs.
The cabin was wonderful and the host was incredibly accommodating for the adverse weather. Not make sure you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle and your most experienced driver at the helm
Host left very clear instructions and enough necessities to see us through our stay. Cabin was very neat and clean. View was amazing. Steep incline so watch weather before going.
Cabin was as described. Possibly the best view in the area! Very secluded and private with made for a great vacation. This cabin will be our 1st go to when we return to the area.
Perfect getaway for our family of four. The porch view was absolutely stunning no matter what time of the day. The cabin was located conveniently near town yet completely quiet and isolated when sitting on the porch. The best way to spend time with family.
Great View and Privacy! The last road to get to cabin is a little steep to get too, but we would put car in low gear and would get up the mountain with ease. Our kids loved playing in the hot tub and being able to see the mountains and town below. Cabin had a nice cozy feeling to it. It is very close to town and close to Gas Station and Dollar General. Overall, a great place for anyone visiting!
This location is absolutely beautiful. The first time you drive to the place, you feel like you are going to the end of the earth, but after that you realize it is only about a 10 minute drive from Pigeon Forge! You can sit on the porch with a cup of coffee to watch the sunrise over The Smokies. Breathtaking. The beds and the living room furniture were comfy, and the kitchen had the basics we needed to make our meals. (We tried eating out one night and it was a zoo; we finally got take out and headed back to the cabin for some peace and quiet.) The cabin itself is a little dated. I think that roughhewn timber is just hard to keep dust free. Being there in early April, it would have been nice to have screens on the windows and doors to open them to the fresh air.All in all, I think the cabin was a good value for what we got. If we come back to The Smokies again, we would probably stay on the Asheville, NC side just because it is a little quieter which is our preference.P.S. If you do stay near Pigeon Forge, do the Rocky Top Mountain Coaster. It was so much fun! Waits are longer later in the day, but we went right away at 10 and hardly had to wait at all.
This was our second time staying and we’ll be back again. Our favorite cabin out of all we’ve stayed at. Beautiful views and really cozy and clean cabin. Love the peacefulness as you feel secluded. The road is steep but once you’ve driven it, it’s not a big deal. We noticed a few amenities changes that were really nice and gave a more personal touch. Owner is amazing as we happened to be there when the possibility of a snowstorm could occur. She was on vacation herself but called and let us know everything we needed to do to be prepared (thankfully it didn’t come to us)! Highly recommend!
Cabin was nice. View was spectacular. Hot tub did not work and was fixed last day of our stay. The roads leading to the cabin were difficult to navigate. The beds have very firm mattresses and made it difficult for my husband to sleep, however I found it comfortable.

Thank you so much for sharing your feedback! We’re happy to hear you loved the cabin and those amazing views. We apologize again for the inconvenience with the hot tub and appreciate your understanding while it was being repaired. The mountain roads can be a bit of an adventure, but we’re glad you made it safely! Mattress comfort can be subjective, and we appreciate you noting your experience. We hope you’ll visit us again the next time you’re in the Smokies!
The property was exactly as advertised. Highly recommend it, but be prepared for a sharp turn uphill ride if you want the awesome view...outstanding, would definately stay there again. Thank you much!
Reed's Retreat was purchased because it was next door to our other cabin, Oliver's Overlook and we loved the view from the cabin. We wanted to be able to provide large families with the choice of staying in 2 cabins beside each other.
