About this property
Sunny coastal home with sunset views of Bodega Bay
Expansive windows and skylights flood this coastal home with light, while midcentury redwood architecture reflects Northern California's natural beauty.
Minutes away, you'll find long meandering beaches, old-fashioned clam chowder, the windswept Bodega headlands, and a working marina to purchase fresh-catch seafood for your evening meal. The nearby Scottish links-style golf course, open to the public and within walking distance, is set among spectacular coastal views and rolling fairways. '
LIVING AREA
The spacious living room has vaulted ceilings and an impressive fireplace with floor-to-ceiling stone surround. Generous chesterfield couches create a refined atmosphere for conversation and cocktails. Custom banquettes are framed by a wall of windows, inviting you to lounge, read, or settle into a game of chess.
In the evenings, you'll have front row seats to sunsets over the water. At night, relax beneath the glow of vintage, jewel-toned lamps. When it's time to kick back and unwind with a good movie or favorite TV show, the mounted 54-inch Roku TV is equipped with online streaming.
KITCHEN & DINING
The galley kitchen has a six-burner Wolf gas range and convection wall oven. Enjoy morning coffee at the kitchen bar, or afternoon appetizers at the high-top bistro table, watching for seasonal wildlife that may meander through the backyard.
The dining table seats six, in a relaxed floor plan that opens to the kitchen and deck. Banks of sliding glass doors welcome in the sea air, and create a flowing indoor/outdoor space that encompasses the dining room, living room and outdoor seating.
BEDROOMS & BATHS
The home comfortably sleeps six people, with additional pull-out sleeping as well. There are two downstairs bedrooms, plus a large loft room with queen size bed. The loft room also has a foldout day bed that accommodates two people (this is a small double). Each room faces beautiful ocean views.
The roomy master suite has a king bed, wall-mounted 40-inch Roku TV, and seating for two facing the water. The en suite bathroom has been remodeled. It has two sinks, a tub and shower combination, and skylights.
The second bedroom offers a queen bed and harbor views (this bedroom has one door to the hallway and second bath, as well as an entrance that is closed off by a tall curtain). Upstairs in the loft bedroom, you'll find a queen bed, skylights, and airy ocean vistas (this is a large bedroom that is open
to the stairs; a baby gate is provided).
The second bathroom has been remodeled and features a vessel sink and tiled, walk-in shower.
OUTDOOR AREA
On the private patio, there's seating for six overlooking a large backyard. Relax with evening appetizers and enjoy a glass of local wine.
EXTRA AMENITIES & MORE DETAILS
Guest amenities include Wi-Fi, a washer/dryer, and driveway parking for two cars.
THE LOCATION
Just off the winding Pacific Coast Highway, this home is central to scenic day trips exploring countless wine country and coastal destinations, from the chic and world-renowned, to the serene and remote.
The Napa and Sonoma valleys are less than an hour away, via an easy country drive through rolling hills, sheep and dairy ranches, and many wonderful little roadside stops to dine or relax. Pick up an indulgent afternoon appetizer at Bodega Bay Oyster Co, a 10 minute drive up the road, or Hog Island Oysters, a scenic half-hour coastal drive south of Bodega.
Close to home, you're a two-minute drive to Doran Regional Park – a four-mile public beach with swimming, picnic tables, campgrounds, and horseback
riding. The beach is 1.2 miles from the house, and can also be accessed on foot via a leisurely, no-elevation walk. The adjacent Birdwalk Trail is a 7-minute walk from the house, and loops along a saltwater marsh for
exceptional bird-watching.
Many open air options, including waterfront dining and rustic crab shacks, are just down the road. For sublime vistas, continue on to Bodega Head, where picnic spots overlook the whitecaps, and hiking trails beckon from the surrounding cliffs.

About the host
Hosted by Beth Grundvig
My husband and I are both California natives. Erik grew up in the Bay Area, and I was raised in the Central Valley. We now live in a rural enclave outside the town of Sonoma, where daily life involves herding bunnies and chickens, and growing year-round produce for our family in a large kitchen garden that is a labor of love. Erik is fortunate enough to work in a field that requires an onsite shop : )
