Located in Fes's "new town", about a 7-10 minute petit taxi ride from old Fes, the Medina, in an area called Atlas. Petit taxis cost between €1 to €1.5 and run non-stop from either side of the apartment. The location is therefore ideal for those who don't want the hassle and the touristic side of the Medina. Located in a lower middle class neighbourhood with plenty of mini super markets and restaurants selling grilled meats of all types - much cheaper then the restaurants in the Medina and delicious. Fes is generally a low cost city but I was surprised how cheap the basics are. Apartment is in a mixed middle class and working neighbourhood. The owner has done a good job of providing a very functional and very quiet place to stay. The beds are good - nice and firm, and the kitchen well equipped. All in all a good place to rent if you to stay long periods while paying substantially less then the riads in the Medina, and with more space.
