Thank you for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear your family enjoyed the property and found it comfortable and clean. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.
My husband, dad, and yellow lab enjoyed our stay! The house was perfect for us- a fully stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, good winter sun, and easy walking access to both the bay side and gulf side beaches. The house itself was on the bay side- calm and quiet!
This is an amazing home. Easy check in/out process. Great location to explore the area from.

Easy access to both sides of the water. Quiet and relatively secluded which provided my family a chance to relax and unwind. Trying to get a seat at a restaurant during peak season is ridiculous though, I highly recommend making reservations, otherwise it's roughly an hour, to an hour and a half wait for a party of 6. I don't know of any grocery stores nearby, but there is plenty of Dollar General stores that provide basic necessities (including bacon, eggs, and bananas).

Thank you for your review. We appreciate your feedback and are glad to hear that you and your family were able to relax and unwind during your stay. We hope you'll consider visiting us again in the future.
Nicely decorated & clean. Very comfortable. Fully stocked kitchen! Beautiful views of bay & sunset on back deck. view of gulf from deck. Only negative is there are several stairs to climb to bring your luggage & stuff up to the house which is very common for Dauphin Is homes. We would definitely return to this home.
Beautiful spot with fabulous views of bay and gulf.
Good trip. House could use some updates. Bay out back is not swim friendly, a little disappointing. Great views, great amenities, great location. Loved Dauphin Island! Beaches were amazing!

A beautiful location and a restful stay on Dauphin Island
A wonderful stay on the island with our two labs! The house is on the quiet end of the island and is pretty private. The covered deck was perfect during the rain and the rest of the huge wrap around deck was used all day long as we followed the sunshine. It was such an easy stroll to the bay side or the gulf to walk with our dogs. Our host communicated very well and everything was as described. The house is nicer than the pictures show, too!
Our family including our dogs had the best stay. We seen dolphins in the gulf. The island is quite. Every night there was something going on like movie on the beach and this bbq thingy they did. The community is amazing and we will be back forsure!
This was the first time we have rented a vacation home on the Bay side any where and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I loved it. We had our own private beach there and our dog Finn loved chasing the crabs. We caught some fish and met some really nice people on Dauphin Island. The realty staff was very friendly and the house was bright and sunny just as a beach house should be. The house was fully stocked and very clean. We had a wonderful week there.

Fantastic! We're happy you had a great time at The Beach House and that you loved the Bayside of the Island. The Bay is such a great location, and The Beach House with its large wrap around deck really allows you to soak in those gorgeous views. Thank you for sharing your experience at The Beach House and we hope to see you again soon!
My husband and I could not have been happier with the entire process from booking it online, to checking in and having such a pleasant and welcoming experience with Beth, to seeing the amazing property and its views! We were so stunned at how the pictures do not do it justice, and how clean everything was. On the way home my husband and I were already deciding when we were going to book our next stay at this beautiful beachfront property. Thank you so much for the wonderful vacation, it will not be forgotten!

The location of the house in proximity to the beach and Bay were fine. The cleanliness of the house itself and the dishes and utensils were well below acceptable. The rugs in the house were filthy, coverings on the couches had stains and I felt like I needed to wear my shoes even when inside. There were stickers in the rugs so in reality you did need to keep your shoes on. I washed dishes once we got there just so we would have basic utensils. There was no blow dryer available. I can't remember when the last time was that I rented a hotel or house that didn't have a blow dryer. There were dead roaches on the floor and under the cabinets in the master bath. It was a very disappointing trip. The area is beautiful and had lots to offer but the beach house was a true disappointment.

This house was PERFECT for our family of 4 (with teens) and our boxer dog! It’s near the west beach and is in a nice quiet area of Dauphin Island. Inside the house, you can literally stand in the kitchen and look out the front of the house for a view of the gulf and then turn to look out the back of the house for a gorgeous view of the bay. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking and the beds/furnishings are comfy. From the outside, the house looks a little weathered and the grass/foliage around the house could use a good mowing, but the inside is an adorable beach house. The back of the house faces north and the sunsets and sunrises over the bay are just breathtaking from the back covered deck. We walked the dog everyday on the beach area on the bayside and it wasn’t busy at all. We did a Walmart pickup order at the Rangeline Road Walmart in Mobile (we were coming from north/central Alabama) because the the only other option was a small local grocer (Greer’s) about 20 minutes from the house. We highly recommend Captain Snapper’s for dinner! We enjoyed our stay.
Overall 5 Stars.
We stay here for 5 nights and it was our 1st trip to the island. The house was very nice, equipped with lots of essentials for cooking or grilling. There were puzzles, games, beach toys, and even a kayak. We brought our bikes and rode them to the west side beach twice (which is 3/4 miles one way).
I loved walking to the beach behind the house. We did hang out there the first full day. The west end beach on the island was very impressive in my opinion. I love that you can walk for miles and collect shells without walking behind any houses. We did go to the Sealab, Fort Gaines, and the Bird sanctuary. We also visited all the shops on the island (note most of the close by 5). There was a storm that came through one day and we went to the Sea Lab and shopping. The house shook really back like being on a boat.
Pros:
Away from everything.
House is fully stocked.
Great communication with manager.
Cons:
Lots of stairs.
The house shakes a lot, even when it’s not stormy.
The grocery store is an hour away.
Overall we loved the house, but honestly probably won’t stay there again because of the house shaking and too far away from great restaurants and grocery store.
Great place and location. Our family loved being in between bay and gulf. The house was clean, warm and welcoming. It’s a rental … and it was perfect. Thank you!
We loved it here it was quiet an private an short drive to public beaches. We had a beach right outside and we enjoyed it as well. The house was clean and perfect for us.
The house is great. Bay on the backside, and gulf on the front. My friend, and I had brought our dogs. It was perfect they had so much room to run. Make sure you stop at the Walmart before coming to the island. It’s a little pricey once you get on. Otherwise had a great relaxing time.
The wrap around deck was fantastic and allowed us to enjoy sunrises and sunsets.

Lots to Like But
Lots to like, but this house sorely needs a deep cleaning. From the top of the fridge (totally gross) to under the headboards (behind the head of the mattress) down to the gross/dirty carpet in the bedrooms. The cleaning fee we were charged is a bad joke. We heard that it’s very hard to get folks who are willing to work. I take exception with paying for cleaning that isn’t being done and having subpar cleanliness.
There is so much to like about this house and semi-private location (neighbor on one side, empty lots on the other side). The wrap around deck is a feature we used and enjoyed every day... even when it rains, you can hang out on the back covered deck. This bay side is quiet and peaceful. Bring extra insect repellent! And pack some Caladryl for the bites you will get.
The floor plan of the house makes a lot of sense and functions well.
Communication with the property manager needs improvement as some voice-mails or web page messages were not promptly returned. The ladies at the real estate office were a pleasure to meet and work with in person. We arrived late, like 10 p.m. on a Monday night and one of the staff was working late (I don’t think that is normal) and came outside to meet us and help us with the night pickup box. We appreciate her extra effort for us. And upon leaving, one of the staff came out to the front porch to take our keys as soon as we drove up.
Be aware that at the current time, the road is flooding after a good rain. I would not have wanted to navigate the road (after a rain) in a car like my wife’s Honda Accord (low to the ground)… I am glad we were in a pickup truck (higher off the ground).
We had such a good time even though it rained half of the time. Next time we will stay on the Gulf side so we don't feel we have to go to the public beach access points, and we will bring more good supplies/food from home.
