The Smithstown house was off the beaten path, which is exactly what we were looking for. An easy drive from the Dublin airport and to other places that we visited. The home was as described and even more character than we were expecting. James was very responsive to any questions that we had and provided recommendations of places to go and eat. We hope that we get another chance to visit Ireland and if that happens would definitely stay at the Smithstown house again!

James is a fabulous host. His facility has anything a family could hope for and a great place for a family to stay. Very quiet location. Easy to get to with the instructions given. Most everything is a short travel to get to.

Very authentic Irish farm setting. Country charm surrounded by green fields with grazing sheep. Host was a very welcoming and caring. Took care that are stay was fine and shared local stories and knowledge.

A great property is a location that has you near many site of Ireland. We loved the rural feel.

Family Vacation and this was a great start. James was a great host and the rooms were perfect for us. A great rural feel with small towns close by the property. Visited Dublin Howth and Nevan. All great times. The best was the hill of Tara on the summer solstice at sunset. Great location!

Lovely country retreat for a family weekend

We had a very wonderful time Staying at Smithstown House. James could not have been nicer to us, the grounds are beautifully maintained and the property has a tremendous sense of History. We do hope to return next year.

Ireland countryside

Lovely property. Remote location but close to town and castle sites. The property is beautiful and quiet. The owner is onsite and very helpful with any questions or issues. Truly enjoyed our stay there.

Idyllic stay in the country

Wonderful stay. James is a great host. The local village is an 8 minute drive with lots of restaurants and shops. The atmosphere is amazing. Cows and sheep as far as the eye can see. We loved it!

Smithstown House

Lovely and spacious accommodation the walled garden was great for relaxing, bbq’s and sports. Set in a secluded quiet and very picturesque area. James is a genial friendly host always available for advise on areas to visit or chats, we would definitely go back.

Beautiful location in the country 40 mins outside of Dublin

The property is a nice place to stay. James is a easy-going and friendly host. It has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a spacious living area and kitchen. It has everything you need for an extended stay. It's in a beautiful area close to tourist attractions, such as castles. I am happy we stayed there.

Awesome experience

James was amazing and so accomadating during our stay. The interior was very roomy and comfortable and the grounds kept imaculate. Lots to donin he backbyard to keep you busy. Would highly recommend staying here!

Look no further: this is the ideal Irish countryside retreat. Watch the sun rise over the misty fields and treat yourself to a homecooked breakfast. Drive to Dublin or any of the countless sights within an hours drive of town. Then spend your nights sleeping in a house with history on a real Boyne Valley farm. My friends and I had never left the country before so we didn't know what to expect, but James made us feel right at home. If I ever go back to Ireland I know where I'm staying!

Lovely in the country

/we had the pleasure of staying at this property during our time exploring Dublin and surrounding area. The home was very cozy, clean and had everything we needed for our time there. James was there to let us into the property and show us around...very pleasant to talk to and very informative. I would highly recommend this property

Lovely stay at Irish farm house

We had a wonderful stay at this Irish country house!! Spent the week with my family exploring Ireland. Smithstown house is in a quaint little countryside town outside of Dublin. You are in the country but never felt too outside the city. James is a lovely host!
