1800 sq. ft. home with central heat & cooling. It is newly renovated as of 2019. It sits on 9 acres with complete privacy.
You may wander the property, fish from a half acre pond, or sit on one of two balconies, relaxing amid sounds of nature. Birds and waterfowl are a feature of this property. If you enjoy camping, feel free to pitch a tent. Enjoy the home for a couple of days or an entire month.
The main floor has a separate living and dining area, each with a large view; a wrap around balcony can be accessed from here. On this level is also the newly remodeled kitchen, stocked with cooking supplies and staples. A new RUKU TV is on this level as well.
There is also a guest half-bath off the kitchen.
The second floor has two private bedrooms and a full bathroom. One bedroom has an antique bed with washstand and vanity. The other bedroom has a vintage four poster with matching dresser and vanity. Each bedroom has at least one closet.
On the lowest level is a daylight basement with a recliner couch and a sleeper sofa. There is a half-bath, utility room, game table, foosball, and a second TV with DVD player in this area. There is a door that can be closed to the rest of the house, so it can be used as a third bedroom. This area opens onto a small patio with the pond only steps away.

Why they chose this property
We located this original hand hewn log home in southern Indiana and learned that it was built in 1817. it was soon to be destroyed by the owner, as it had become a safety hazard.. To salvage and preserve this important bit of history, we took the home apart log by log and transported it in late 1972 to its present location . After two years of construction it became livable in the fall of 1974. You will find a picture album in the home showing how the home was disassembled, transported and rebuilt at the present location. Although the house has retained the original footprint, the interior has been updated two times since the reconstruction; the latest was completed early this year of 2019. After 45 years of living here, we have decided to open the home for more people to experience just a bit of history in this modern environment.
