About this property

Amazing Long Range View, Hot Tub, Pool Table, 20min Bryson City, Cherokee, GSMNP

“If you are thinking of booking this place, do it now. You will not be disappointed as the views, views, and more views are even better in person.” - Dave

Situated at 3200 feet you can see miles of STUNNING layered Mountain Views from the front deck of Valley View which is conveniently located between Bryson City & Sylva and close to Smoky Mountain NP & Cherokee.

“Wow!!! Just simply wow!!! If you are looking for a quiet getaway in the mountains this is where you want to be!!!!” - Jeani

You can't go wrong whether you simply come to relax at the cabin or use it as a home base for your Mountain adventures as there are lots of options for dining, shopping, breweries, hiking, kayaking, fishing, whitewater rafting, biking and sight-seeing.

"Valley View is the best cabin we've ever stayed at. It's beautiful, sparkling clean, has the best view, best privacy, and I could go on. Thanks Andy!" - Richard

We have a game room loft with a pool table and dart board, a fire pit to circle around at night, rocking chairs to chill in and take in the view on the very large wrap around deck, an authentic Bier Garten picnic table for outdoor dining on the side deck and a hot tub on the lower level with a view to soak away and release your daily tensions.

"This is a must stay home. Close enough to get into town for a quick jaunt, yet far enough away that you feel as if you are on top of the world...The hot tub looking over the valley was icing on the cake." - Myra

We also have DVDs for movie time as well as board games and puzzles for family bonding. Our cabin is a place where we go to "get away from it all" and share quality time connecting with family and friends. We go there to unplug, so there is no Wi-Fi, however, there is good cell phone reception for most carriers.

"The cabin is equipped with plenty of games and movies for all ages, and there's no internet or cable TV, so this is a perfect recipe for quality, peaceful time away from society and with your family/friends." - John David Jacobs

We feel so blessed and are so grateful to have this wonderful little slice of heaven here on earth. Nothing can compare to the joy it brings us or the joy it brings to those we get to share it with. We hope that will include you and yours.

"This cabin is a dream! The view is insane and it is just magical. We spent our time playing games, sitting in the hot tub, and sitting in front of the fire reading. We also did a hike almost every day. There's tons to do in the area...It was very clean and comfortable and every little thing had been thought of. We had every thing we needed. Andy is also very communicative and we felt that he genuinely wants people to enjoy his cabin as much as his family does. Worth every penny! That VIEW!" - Danielle

The entire cabin is yours to enjoy. Please just be respectful and treat it like your home away from home. And while we are not local, we are always available for text or call and will help respond to emergencies and get our local team on top of any issues as fast as possible.

"The best 5 days we could have asked for! Views are breathtaking! We spent the majority of our time either in the hot tub (oh the view!) or by the fire pit! Master bed was so comfy, the cabin felt like home!" - Heather

NOTICE: THE INFAMOUS DRIVE - Must Read BEFORE booking!

Please be advised that this amazing view means you have to travel 2 miles up a steep and narrow mountain road. The road is not paved after the first 1/3 of the way. It is a private road so it is not state maintained. It is graded twice a year so at times it can be very bumpy and have ruts if it's been a while since it's last grading.

It is not meant for vehicles with trailers (as once you get up to the top, there is little room to turn a trailer around) nor should you come here on your motorcycle unless it is a dual sport meant for off-road.

4 WHEEL DRIVE IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED as is ARRIVING IN DAY LIGHT on your check in/first time up. I can't stress this enough!

The ride up can be a challenge and scary for drivers not experienced with mountain driving, but if you know the basics, like using a low gear and maintaining a slow steady speed, then you should not have a problem. Several people live up this road year-round and traverse it regularly.

There are certainly steeper roads than this one, however, on ours a front wheel drive only vehicle will find the climb very challenging, ESPECIALLY if there is inclement weather, your tires are balding or your car is heavily weighed down with vacation supplies.

Over the many years we have rented our cabin we have had a few guests who didn't heed our advice and therefore had trouble with the drive and it negatively affected their vacation. A few could not get up one of the steep sections with a couple actually getting stuck and a few others simply felt it was too challenging for them to be able to come and go as freely as they had envisioned and therefore had to make last minute alternate arrangements. This is mainly due to one section in particular.

At the very top of the mountain about 200 yards to the driveway of Valley View there is a hairpin turn into a very steep gravel section. In a two-wheel drive vehicle, this will be the most challenging and is where these aforementioned guests had their trouble.

If you read our hundreds of reviews you'll see that over 99.8% have successfully traversed our road and enjoyed our cabin, so don't be too freaked out, we are only taking the time to be as explicit as we can about this because we want you to have a great time and believe having correct expectations is a key to that. We have always felt the drive is just part of a good, rugged mountain adventure vacation.

It is worth it, just read the reviews, but if you are not comfortable with the thought of steep, narrow, gravel roads then perhaps a cabin at lower elevation would be more suitable for your needs and expectations. If you envision a vacation where you can easily zip in and zip out of your rental on paved roads of a subdivision, then perhaps a different cabin would suit you. We do have another cabin (Bear Creek Cabin) that sits in the Valley below Valley View that sleeps four that meets these criteria if you are interested.

PLEASE BE ADVISED - If you book Valley View and ignore our recommendations stated above you assume all the risk. No refunds will be offered for guests who choose not to stay because of their feelings or difficulties regarding the drive to get there, including getting stuck and needing a tow.

"Andy’s cabin was by far amazing!!! The view is worth it all!!! We all had SUVs and had no trouble at all with the road up to the house. No one needed to use 4 wheel drive. DONT LET THE ROAD TO THE HOUSE KEEP YOU FROM BOOKING!!!! ...We will most definitely be booking with Andy again!!" -Brittany

FIREWOOD -
Firewood for the fire pit is not provided and can be purchased at Lowe's in Sylva or we have a contact named DeWayne who delivers if needed.

WATER -
Our cabin is on well water. It is filtered and is totally fine for consumption and all of your other needs. However, bring bottled water if you prefer.

FIREARMS -
Firing of Firearms on our property is strictly prohibited. Although our cabin is private and secluded, we have many neighbors nearby that live on our mountain with us and firing out from our property puts them at risk and they will call it in. Please be smart! If you want to fire your gun go to a shooting range in the area.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

We are Andy and Denise. We are from Pequot Lakes Minnesota and fell in love with the beautiful scenery and outdoor life in Western North Carolina when we lived in Atlanta. We are avid travelers, golfers, mountain bikers and hikers. We found this place to be conveniently located to all the outdoor activities we love.

Why they chose this property

With Valley View we found the perfect balance. Valley View combines rustic, secluded, log cabin charm, and an amazing view of the mountains, with a location that is convenient to all the Great Smoky Mountains area has to offer.

What makes this property unique

The view, the hot tub, the view, the pool table, the view, the firepit, and oh did I mention the VIEW?!
It's a perfect place to get away from it all, unplug and unwind. It is close to any mountain adventure you want to have: Kayaking, white water rafting, Mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding, fly fishing, waterfalls, train rides, cycling, antiquing, breweries, golfing, casinos, wildlife viewing, charming mountain towns, ziplines, tubing, flea markets, good food, farmers markets, history, and more.
The best part we find is just how relaxing it is to sit on the porch and look at the amazing view either from the rocking chairs or in the hot tub. It is a great place to have quality time with friends and family.
