This 6-person cabin—just a 10-minute walk from the Heavenly Gondola—is a fusion of “Old Tahoe” and modern, smart, eco-friendly engineering.
Cozy original pine, wood beams, a US Army Cannon wood stove, and a tucked-away spot under towering pines recall rustic mid-century Lake Tahoe. Meanwhile, 2 sleek, upgraded and modern bathrooms thaw you after a day on the slopes with spa features like heated floors (in both bathrooms), a Hansgrohe Raindance showerhead, and a hydro jet Jacuzzi tub for two.
Another cool feature: our tankless water heater, which generates hot water at any time, for as many who need it. Most cabins at Tahoe use a standard hot water tank—which grants hot showers to the first few and leaves everyone else to shiver and wait while it refills. But with the tankless water heater, luxuriously hot water keeps on coming, no matter how many showers or soaks you take.
Tankless water heating is eco-friendly, too, because it uses cleaner natural gas as a heating element and the water is heated only when in use, instead of 24/7. We don’t know of that many other Tahoe cabins that use this system yet, and we love it (from what we hear, our guests do, too).
In the kitchen, you’ll find new, high-end stainless appliances and brushed granite countertops for the gourmet cook.
On the second floor, there are 2 bedrooms with natural latex and memory foam queen size mattresses, plus a separate sun room/den for quiet afternoons. The hardwood floor is a warm, hand-scraped Brazilian acacia.
In the first-floor living area is a queen-size sofa bed, which sleeps two more guests comfortably.
Downstairs you’ll also find a laundry area, washer & dryer, an additional sink and storage for skis and snowboards.
We stocked the cabin with everything you need for an effortless Lake Tahoe trip. The kitchen provides all the needed utensils, pots and pans. You’ll find a set of eco-friendly hotel amenities in each bathroom along with a pile of fresh towels. Full linen sets (plus extras) are supplied for every guest. Beach chairs are patiently waiting for you in our laundry room—feel free to use them for a sunny day at the beach or just lounging outside the cabin under the pine trees.
I often work from the cabin, so I know that WiFi is a must. We’ve got you covered there, too.
LOCATION
We’re located in a “heavenly” place (ha ha) just a 15-minute walk to the lakefront and a great public beach, and a 10-minute walk (about half a mile) from the famed Heavenly Gondola and a 7-minute walk from the shops and restaurants of Heavenly Village.
If you don’t feel like walking with your ski gear, the free BlueGo Tahoe shuttle stops just a couple of blocks away from the cabin and will take you to the Heavenly Gondola, or in the other direction toward California Lodge.
The cabin property is set back from the main road and touches preservation lots, so there are lots of tall pines and, though there are neighbors, you are enfolded in lots of forested green for privacy.
ABOUT THAT JACUZZI TUB…
We get lots of guest comments about our Jacuzzi tub, which is a spacious 24 inches deep and soothes your muscles with 8 jets (4 per person).
We make a conscious decision not to purchase a traditional outdoor hot tub, since hot tubs are high-maintenance require harsh chemicals. Instead, we took that money and bought the Ferrarri of Jacuzzi tubs. It was worth every penny.
AND THAT CANNON STOVE…
We have conventional heat at Knotty Pine, so the vintage wood-burning stove is mostly for fun. We don’t provide firewood, but you’ll find it all over the place in Tahoe for a cozy evening by the fire.
PLEASE NOTE: use the wood stove at your own risk, and do not use it if you are traveling with young children. It heats up very fast and can easily burn curious young fingers.
NOT JUST FOR SNOWBIRDS
As a skier, I always came to Tahoe in the winter. But I saw the light on my first warm-weather visit. Tahoe summer is just as good, if not better than winter. There’s sun, warmth, and a new set of fun outdoor activities…swimming, lounging on a picturesque beach, or hiking or biking the mountain.
All these summer activities are within walking distance of Knotty Pine Cabin, too.
Summer guests can also fire up the gas BBQ grill here and have dinner and drinks on our patio under the pines. (You can do that all year round, but summer is the best time to do it.)
In short, this cabin in an excellent place from which to embark on outdoor adventures and return to de-stress afterward. Contact me today to book!
