Kitchen was the best stocked kitchen I’ve seen. Everything you could need! Plus all the fun extra toys, games, movies…we had a blast. Hoping to stay there again in a couple years for another reunion.

Thank you for your wonderful review. We are very glad you had such a great time and we look forward to seeing you again.
The home was large enough for the whole family and we had a great time playing games and eating in the wonderful garage when the weather turned windy and cold! Having two refrigerators is genius along with the two double stacked washers/dryers. They were put to good use especially after the day at Bear Lake! Great hosts! Great home away from Home! Will return!

Thank you for such a wonderful review. You are always welcome back.
We had a fun family gathering. We enjoyed the Bear River Hot Springs near Preston, the Oregon Trail Museum in town and also a day at the North Shore Beach. The house had everything we needed to keep the small children and adults entertained. We had a great stay!

We love staying at the Cape House as part of our annual visit to Bear Lake. This is our 5th of hopefully many years to come. The home has everything you need for a wonderful visit and the hosts are top notch!
Wonderful house and location for family experiences
We had a large family group there. The space is great both inside and out. Well equipped and maintained. We played, laughed and enjoyed it all immensely.

We’re always happy when our guests have a great time.
Such a fun house for all 32 of us! Every person had a mattress to sleep on. We had a lot of fun in the big backyard with all the available things to do and Bear Lake is a short drive away. We would definitely stay here again.

Thank you for such a positive review. You are always welcome back.
The entire family absolutely loved our stay at the Cape house. Check-in was a breeze, and it was extremely easy to contact the host if needed. The kitchen had everything you could want for dishes, spices, plates, cups… You name it! The bedding was very comfortable and plenty of extra blankets and pillows. With our large family, everyone had space and the backyard was wonderful to play volleyball and gather around the fire pit. The horses were especially fun to watch and see the entire time. The kids loved petting them along the fence line. We would highly recommend this home to anyone wanting to spend some time along Bear Lake with a family reunion!!

This weekend was just a relaxing weekend for my husband and I, our kids' families, and my mom. The accommodations were great! Everyone had a room with privacy. All of the amenities were perfect for the babies and we really enjoyed all of the games available.

Were so glad it worked out so well for you. We hope you will come back again.
It's set up for large groups and the house is well-outfitted and has a lot of extras that you don't see in VRBOs---toys, stocked kitchen, medicine cabinet. It's located away from other houses so there's a feeling of privacy. The grass area could be bigger for our particular group with lots of kids, but it's a nice place. We had a great time there!

Thank you for the positive feedback on your stay at our home. We aim to provide a five star experience for our guests, so it is disappointing that we didn't quite reach that level for you. Our one acre property includes over 3,000 square feet of lawn, a full size sand area with volleyball net and large areas for parking cars, boats and RVs. You can see the layout on the aerial photo included with the listing.
We had so much! We played Volleyball and had a fire and told stories and bonded again with family. It was so relaxing and comfortable. Definitely will do this again! Thank you!

Thank you for your review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to hosting you again.
The house and all resources were plentiful. The horses over the fence captivated the grandchildren and there were lots of beach toys and equipment available. We were a family reunion of 25 and we all felt this was the best property yet.
Property was great! Wardboro is very small which makes for a quiet stay. Far enough away from the crowds but close enough to Montpelier and North Beach to make it very appealing. We had a group of 20+ and had plenty of space. The weather was good so we were able to take advantage of eating outside, which was a plus.
The property had everything we needed and everyone had a great time!

Thank you for such a positive review and for taking such great care of our house. You are always welcome back.
We had a large group for my family reunion and we really felt that all of our needs were met. All of the parking was especially helpful to accommodate people coming and going, boats and campers. The space we had in the yard and garage along with the extra fridge/freezer in the garage worked great for us. Definitely an option for us if we choose to go to bear lake again

It sounds like you had everything you needed and enjoyed your stay. Not sure why that would merit just one star.
The house is equipped with everything you need. It's very comfortable and cute.
We stayed here for our family reunion. It was very lovely and quiet and had everything we needed (wear ear plugs at night since the train is close) . Lots of beds & cots for everyone. The girl cousins stayed in the "hobbit hole" and loved it. The garage is welll equipped with folding tables and chairs for plenty of space to eat with a large group. It's only about 20 minutes from Bear Lake and very close to Montpelier for any grocery needs. We had a wonderful time here.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. You are always welcome back.
We loved our stay!!! We were meaning to spend a lot of time at the lake, but due to cool temperatures, and storms, we stayed close to home…We enjoyed the fire pit, and volleyball court. There were games available for all ages and space to spread out. We did go horseback riding, visited the cave, hit the beach twice but mostly strengthened our family ties!!!! Thank you for sharing such a beautiful home. We loved the porch swings, the horse neighbors, and peaceful country roads!

Thank you for such a positive review of your stay. That is wonderful that you were able to spend time with your family despite the crazy weather.
Well stocked kitchen. Plenty of games and activities. Beds for everyone. We set up tables in the garage for seating and serving our meals. Only draw back, the gravel road to the lakes. We spent a 1/ 2 day at Montpelier Reservoir paddling and hiking. We also went to the Adventure Park. We definitely will recommend your house to our friends. Thank you.

Can’t do much about the roads. We are in rural Idaho and some roads are not paved. They are all well graded and maintained, so the drive out to the lake is not rough or bumpy. The house itself is on a road that is graded but not paved. If driving on such roads is a bother, you probably should look for a place closer to Garden City.
We had a great time. We especially enjoyed the yard. The house was stocked better than any house that we have stayed at in the last 10 years. We had 21 people ages 3-72. It worked well for everyone. One suggestion that I have is that railings would have helped my husband (72) to get up and down the outside stairs. He uses a cane and has physical limitations.
This is our 4th year staying at the Cape House and we absolutely love it! There's plenty of room for our extended family of 24 and it seems that each year Craig and Beth add something new to the property - this year was a ping pong table in the garage that helped entertain the teenagers. It was a great addition especially since the lake was quite windy and we spent more time at the house than planned. The kids absolutely love staying here and we hope to continue to make memories for years to come. Thank you Craig and Beth!
Our family enjoyed a week at the Cape house. The grandchildren, aged one through 14 enjoyed the yard toys and the volleyball court/oversized sandbox. The young children also enjoyed the toy room at the top of the stairs. The house was well stocked with kitchen and laundry supplies. We appreciated the extra refrigerator and washer and dryer. There was a bedroom for each family and plenty shared living space. We also appreciated the outdoor patio with tables and chairs and barbecue. Most of our dinners were enjoyed outdoors. Overall we had a wonderful time and will definitely consider a return visit.

About the host
Hosted by Craig and Beth Coleman
We love our Bear Lake Cape House and use it for our own family reunions. Beth grew up in the area and the house is on property we purchased from her father. We built the house in 2010 and have made improvements over the years. Our permanent home is in Utah, near Provo. We love sharing our Bear Lake Cape House with people and want you to have the best time possible.
Why they chose this property
Space and more space. There is plenty of room for everyone, inside and out. The house features a large yard with a well manicured lawn and loads of parking for vehicles, RVs, trailers and boats. Because the house is located in a rural area of Bear Lake County, you are really going to enjoy the privacy, and the night sky is spectacular at the Cape House. If you are cooking for the whole family, you are going to find just about everything you need in the kitchen that features a roomy refrigerator-freezer, a double oven with smooth top range, and dishwasher. We keep a second refrigerator-freezer in the garage for families who are really planning on feasting.
What makes this property unique
North Beach of the Bear Lake State Park is just 15 minutes away. Plenty of space to accommodate large families. Lots of parking space for boats and RVs. Water and 50 amp power available for RVs. Rural area of Idaho means lots of privacy.
