A group of close friends and I needed a place to stay for a wedding weekend and This Olde House was the perfect home base for us! It had everything we needed and some fun extras (Girl Scout cookies are always the best surprise). It was clean and roomy, and we really appreciated being able to have space to all hang out during any downtime we had. Teige was also easy to get in contact with and made check-in super easy!
There was a lot of sleeping space for 12 people and the beds were very comfortable. Having 2 full baths was a blessing with 6 adults in our group. We loved being able to use the charcoal grill on the lovely back porch. We would have used the fire pit too, but it rained over our stay. Tiege even supplied fixings for s'mores! The air conditioning worked great and there were ceiling fans in most of the rooms, and extra table fans if needed. Our only complaints: The house was a little more off the beaten path than expected, the water pressure in the upstairs bath was low, the house had a musty smell and there were some areas of thick dust, (especially in the windows) that are most likely due to the age of the house. Tiege was great to work with.
We had a wonderful time at Ward! Great communication, very clean, mattresses were comfortable, and the host left thoughtful snack and items for us to use. Perfect distance from lots of hiking, Athens, and Hocking Hills!
Stay was great, it was good to get away and the property met all our needs. Nice common area and big table for meals and games, firepit outside and plenty of room to sleep!
We really enjoyed our stay this weekend! The house is beautiful and it had everything we needed to make our weekend perfect! The owners were great and really went above and beyond leaving treats for us to enjoy throughout our stay! With two kids at OU, we'll definitely be back!!
Cute house, plenty of space with all the necessary amenities
Two families stayed here while taking daily trips to Hocking Hills. The house was cutely decorated and clearly recently redone. Clean and stocked for us with everything needed. Teige even left a bunch of goodies/snacks for the kids to enjoy. She was very easy to work with, responded to any questions we had and gave great recommendations. The house has plenty of space and we enjoyed the outdoor covered deck area each night playing cards and having a bonfire. Thank you for the stay!
Beautiful well prepared and stocked home. Great for ATV's and Hiking with a connecting a trail to Wayne National Forest. Property owners are awesome People!
We had a great time - Tiege was great at responding he suggested places for us to visit and he left goodies for us as well I can’t say enough about how great he was -the location is little off the beaten path but it did not hinder us from scoping out the different trails etc in Hocking hills -the property was clean and honestly there were no major issues whatsoever -I highly recommend this place
House is super cute and very spacious! We had a really nice time and the communication with the owner was super easy! We felt like we had privacy from neighbors and the back patio fire pit area was a nice area to hang out. House is about 30 minutes from main hocking hills area but it wasn’t a bad drive to get there :) We really enjoyed our stay!
We booked this house in Nelsonville as a last-minute getaway trip to Hocking Hills and was very happy with it. It fit 5 adults easy, and could have held 4-5 more as well.
I found the pictures somewhat deceiving as it was actually much more spacious in person. There's a great covered outdoor space with a fire pit in the yard that we made full use of, and the kitchen and dining areas were great to cook and eat in as well.
Nelsonville is a bit off the beaten path for most Hocking activities, but we were still within 25 minutes of some hikes and a rock climbing tour at High Rock Adventures that we highly recommend.
Don't let the poor review from July 2020 dissuade you; Teige is a great, attentive host and the house was clean and homey. 5/5 stay.
The house was clean when we arrived and the first floor was nice and the positive review stops there. The air conditioning on the second floor did not work. The home is less than half a mile from a correctional facility and the neighbors were pretty scary - would stop their car next to the house and stare while we were outside. The owner scammed us into texting her personal number (we had thought it was an automated number via VRBO) VRBO has been so helpful working with us to get things right and has apologized for the unethical behavior of the owner. The house was not as we expected upon arrival, not accurate to the listing (missing hot tub whirlpool, grill, “fire pit” was full of used beer cans) Owner was also hard to get ahold of prior to us arriving. Had to actually message for access to the house as we hadn’t heard anything and had gotten worried we wouldn’t have a place to stay when we arrived.

Thank you for your review. I would like to say that you broke the house rules by throwing a bachelorette party at the property, which is against policy. The cleaner charged me double for the mess you left. The whirlpool is a bathtub (was detailed in messages prior to your arrival), and the "correctional facility" closed it's doors in 2018, prior to our turning the property into a vacation rental. I apologize that you feel the need to treat people and their property with so much disrespect. Check in information was documented as sent the morning of your arrival. You are the ONLY negative review I have ever received. It's sad really.
This property has everything you would need away from home. The house is beautifully decorated and updated. We had a great time in Hocking Hills! The manager of this property was always available and pleasant to work with. We would love to stay at this property the next time we are in town!! Thank you!
Comfy and roomy accommodations. Very friendly and attentive owner. Plenty of space to spread out and also come together as a group. Great weekend. We had a fun time.
This Olde House is a nicely decorated rustic property that was perfect our family getaway. It was a short drive from Athens, OH where we spent much of our weekend visiting with our niece at Ohio University.
We had such a great time at This Olde House. It was beautifully decorated and very clean! Kitchen was well stocked and plenty of room for the 8 of us. Great communication with Teige and will recommend to anyone else heading to the Hocking Hills area.
