Wine Down Bungalow-Newly Renovated, Perfect For Two! Your private lake break!

The Wine Down Bungalow on Seneca Lake ensures your total privacy with 1 exclusive parking spot for your stay. The bungalow completely remodeled in 2023. It is a separate cottage/apartment from the main lakehouse where you will receive an exclusive key pad entrance to unlock your way to a spacious style bungalow. The Wine Down has a stand up shower and closet with linens/towels. Dinette for two, kitchen including fridge, microwave, toaster oven, Keurig and varieties of kcups and tea. The seating area includes two swivel cushion chairs, and a couch for watching TV and relaxing. One comfortable queen size bed with a fireplace and a Mitsubishi heating and cooling unit throughout. Large grill for exclusive use provided outside along with a table and two chairs.
The bungalow is ideal for individuals looking to take in the FLX region and all of its offerings. We are in a perfect location to numerous wineries and lake viewing points. Less than a mile down the road is Roy's Marina where you can rent all your watercraft needs for the day. Additionally, we are less than a 5 minute drive to downtown Geneva and numerous restaurants to explore during your time. ***Note: This rental comes with shared access only to the dock with our larger 4 bedroom home renters. All other waterfront such as firepit, decks, boating, and etc is not shared and exclusive only to the renters of the larger home. Please be mindful of one another. If your looking for more room, feel free to check out our larger Lakehouse rental site, its called Wine Down Retreat (#1884018) on Seneca Lake. The sunrises are beautiful and there are many viewing points here and nearby.

The bungalow was in a perfect location with a beautiful view of the lake. Everything we wanted to do was just a short drive away which made it perfect for a quick getaway weekend. The only knocks I have about the property is the stairs to get to the bungalow are a little steep. The flooring inside also was uneven and the mattress sank in the middle. Otherwise the place was beautiful and would recommend for a quick retreat!

The property was as expected… the (shared) dock was a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Seneca Lake. We were lucky that the “big house” was not occupied, as the lakefront would not have been nearly as nice with others around so close. It was perfect for us to come and go while visiting friends and family, would stay again. Owner and Manager were perfect.

This was a tough renter from the start. Lots of unneccesary complaints and no appreciation. Unfortunately, this was a first for us as we have a great track record of keeping all our guests happy and we welcome their return. These folks, really just one person of the party, were displeased with everything. The smart TV wasnt working in their opinion, but it was. They just were not useto having that at home. They called to complain about the wifi 5 minutes after arriving which led to an entire evening of addressing it immediately with them, and happily. However, the problem was never the wif, it was teaching them how to properly set it up on their iphones and ipads. We even ran data tests for them to confim it was working, and I also made a trip there to test it myself inside the property to show good faith to which the result was, it was working. Again, there was still no satisfaction. While I was there, they told me the screen door was giving them a tug so we had maintence come out within hours and fix that. They did most of their complaints offline and to me directly via text but it would be unfair to not mention that they too disliked the bed. The brand new 2022 bed that was just put in. We strive to make everyone happy and welcome at all of our properties. Sometimes, you just have to take the tough with the good. We welcome our guests back, this one however, I refunded and hope to not see return. Hope others can find a different experience with this party.

We had a great stay in Geneva. The Wine Down Bungalow is clean, spacious and perfect for a few nights away. We had the dock to ourselves for the solar eclipse. Great space to stare out onto the lake. Our first morning, the shower water did not get hot. The owners were quick to respond and it was fixed immediately. Very responsive and easy to deal with. We’d recommend this place to anyone looking for a cute place to stay about a ten minute drive away from the center of Geneva.

No Water view but access

From the photos that were on the listing do not show you what your actual view is. You are staying at a repurposed garage that is very nice that isn’t the problem. But I thought we would have a lake view. What you actually see is the main house and no view of the water. The listing in my spouse and I is very misleading. I sat sometime on this review before writing It because I hoped my opinion would change. Unfortunately it didn’t. If you want to have a place close to the water this is the spot if you want a water view this is not. Overall had a great stay but the deception of having a view really hurt my opinion of this place.

Thank you for your thought out review. My apologies you were not satisfied with your stay. We make it clear in the listing that this is a cottage/bungalow behind the main larger 4 bedroom home. Pictures are provided as well. In addition, it is mentioned that you have access to the shared dock for as much time as you'd like during your stay to sit and relax on the lake. I'm sorry you assumed all the windows from this cottage rental had a view of the lake. We also list viewing spots nearby too in addition to the on property dock you can walk to with your coffee and or wine and relax from. We like to make all our guests vacation memorable and I'd be happy to host you at one of our other properties in the future. -All the best

My family and I are long time residents of upstate NY and love the (FLX) finger lakes region! Spending time relaxing, unwinding, and socializing while enjoying a favorite bottle of wine around good family and friends is one of my greatest joys. When I'm not doing that, usually you can find me busy and involved with my three children and their sports and activities. I really enjoy coaching, physical activity of all kinds, and cooking. On the weekends I enjoy local races of some sort, a fitness class, or enjoying a new restaurant anywhere! My career in real estate allows me to see the offerings a home can be for others and for that, I'm so happy to share some of our home with all of you.

Why they chose this property

Seneca Lake is special to our family and why we chose to purchase here. We have been annual renters ourselves every summer on the lakes since our children were born and looked forward to that vacation year after year. Our decision to make it a permanent purchase was to be able to share our excitement of the FLX region with all of you.

What makes this property unique

The Wine Down Bungalow on Seneca Lake is unique in that it sits apart from the main 4 bedroom home, Wine Down Retreat, as a spacious and separate guesthouse/apartment with many amenities and privacy. This is an exclusive bungalow with its own parking. It is rented separately or can be combined as part of the main home rental for extra family members who may require more privacy while renting the larger home. This bungalow has its own bathroom with shower, kitchen, wifi, secure keypad access, and much more. Come on down to Seneca Lake and let us host you. **Note: the main home (Wine Down Retreat) is a much larger rental for guests too. We allow bungalow guests shared use of the dock only during their stay with those renters.
