Excellent cabin on the lake! The home was super clean when we arrived and check instructions were a breeze. It was spacious, yet cozy. We enjoyed the screened in porch that overlooked the lake. The location was quiet and peaceful, yet not too remote. We drove to Bar Harbor or Acadia everyday and the drive was on county roads and so pretty. I would definitely recommend this cabin!
Beautiful location right on the lake. Cozy living area. Not as large as the photos depict. Adequate kitchen. Comfortable beds and climate control. The property manager responded promptly when we had difficulty with the TV.
Wonderful home and very attentive host. It is a beautiful quiet relaxing place. It is definitely a favorite with us. The location near Acadia and Bar Harbor is great too.

We are so happy you enjoyed your stay! Happy anniversary :) You were the perfect guests! Love to see you again.
We absolutely loved the property! It was beautiful! We had plenty of room for the 4 of us. The rooms were spacious and it felt like a cozy home. We were in close proximity to Ellsworth (20 min) and bar harbor/acadia (40min), which were our main destinations. We look forward to hopefully staying here again in the future!
This rental had everything you would need. Very spacious indoors and out with lake frontage. Superior cleanliness and comfort! It’s a bit isolated - the town of Ellsworth is about a 15 minute ride and Bar Harbor and Acadia Natl Park are about 40 minutes, but worth the drive. I would rent here again!
We had a fantastic two-week stay by the lake. The cottage is in a great location with easy access to Acadia and the surrounding area, however there is so much to do right at the cottage you may never want to leave. The cottage was well stocked with everything we needed and communication with the owner Karin was great. Can’t wait to come back!
Wonderful setting. Quiet and private. Not too far from town and we loved the house and lake.
We had a few issues with brownouts after the 2nd day possibly due to a storm that came through.
We'd definitely stay here again!
We enjoyed a great week at the lake with the beautiful lakefront, perfect for swimming or relaxing and soaking in the views! Had a great week. Super communication and responsiveness from the owner. Thank you!
We absolutely loved our stay. Everything you could ask for is here. Private. Quiet. Access to a gorgeous lake for swimming or fishing. We stayed on property for the first 2 days of our week long stay simply because we were able to decompress and have fun too. Don’t hesitate on this house, you’ll regret it.
The house is very nice. It’s very clean. The only issue I had was it is a little musty and it affected my allergies a bit but it wasn’t unbearable. I would stay again. It was fall so we didn’t get to use the kayaks on that were there but I would love to go back sometime.
The lake location is incredible and so peaceful and the water is crystal clear. There are 2 docks with seating, 2 kayaks and a canoe. We could hear the loons in the morning and evening and saw an eagle. The house is comfortable and just as pictured. The furniture is all cozy and the kitchen is well equipped. The owner is very responsive and turns out she lives next door. We would highly recommend this place!
We picked this property in the hopes of finding some quiet relaxation on our vacation. This little spot did not disappoint! It's wonderfully secluded and peaceful and yet conveniently located to Bar Harbor and Acadia. Downtown Ellsworth is a gem to discover if you don't feel like making the trip into Bar Harbor.
The weather didn't cooperate, so we didn't get to take advantage of the kayaks, canoe, or swimming, but that didn't diminish the experience at all!
If you want privacy with a lovely view to stare off into, quiet nature to enjoy a book, or a short scenic drive to all sorts of activities, this is the place for you!
Quiet and peaceful yet close to everything the region has to offer.
My sisters and I had a wonderful get away at this gem of a property. The house was clean, comfortable, and well appointed with everything we needed. A glitch with the TV was handled promptly by the owner with no disruption to our plans. The lake and lakefront were spectacular with a gentle grade from the house to the lake (so many properties have a steep grade!), outdoor seating, and docks. Even though it was quite cool during our week, I took a kayak out for a very enjoyable ride. There's a lovely lakefront park right down the road that made for good walks. We spent most of our days exploring Acadia and Ellsworth and returned to great dinners and quiet evenings in this lovely setting. We definitely hope to return!
We enjoyed the stay. The cottage was just perfect for our party size. Would stay here again. The lake location was amazing and the owner was very informative. We loved how everything was there and ready for use.
The home does need some attention. The hall bath shower leaked onto to the floor all the time while in use. We had to keep towels down to keep from having a soaked floor. The house needs to have some refreshes done. Musty smells. The upstairs beds need to have new or better mattresses placed.
Wonderful property all around! I am a Maine native (grew up in Holden, ME) who vacations 'back home' nearly every summer since moving to DC 30 years ago. My husband and senior college student agree that THIS is the BEST property we have stayed at. Perfect location, clean, modern but still a 'camp', outdoor space has so many options to sit and chill both in the sun and shade. 2 Kayaks are perfect for the VERY CLEAN Branch Lake (so quiet as well!), 20 mins from local Supermarket (G&M) or Ellsworth with many other shopping options (hit Reny's - it is a "Maine Adventure"). Had local family for day visits during our week stay and they agree it was a great camp with a perfect spot on the lake. Karin was quick to respond to pre and post trip communications I sent her. Can't stress enough how clean the property was - but, remember you are on a LAKE in MAINE so may have nature around you :) We were a family of 3 so used the main level living space most; but had a blast upstairs using the huge table for game night with extended family visiting. There was a large round trampoline float when we visited (the listing pics had shown a smaller yellow platform) and we LOVED IT! Highly recommend!! PS: as a Maine native, I can tell you having the modern and very efficient Air Conditioning in the camp is not normal, yet very much appreciated in the humid summah. Will be back for a 2 week visit next time :)
This is a very nice house situated on the south shore of Branch Lake. It was well appointed and the supplies at the house are excellent.
We had lousy weather and couldn’t take full advantage of the waterfront amenities.
The host, Karin, was great to work with. We asked how to get Netflix with the existing Dish network setup, and the next day the old tv was replaced with a smart television.
The house is a pleasant place to stay.
We’ve stayed in a lot of rentals and this was one of the best! Beautiful views and had everything you needed for a great stay! Very well stocked kitchen, outdoor supplies and even bug spray. We had a fantastic stay and would recommend highly!
We had a fantastic time here! Karin's house is very comfortable. It has plenty of space to spread out, all the kitchen utensils you would need, games and puzzles, kayaks and a canoe with life jackets, and the location is super private and quiet. The stars were amazing over the lake! Branch Lake really is pristine. It's so clear and calm. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this rental and Branch Lake.
We have rented homes and cottages all over the world. The setting for this cottage was the best we have ever experienced. The waterfront area was perfect for swimming, fishing, and kayaking. The beds were comfortable and the thermostats in every room gave us comfort in every part of the house.
What a delightful cottage in a particularly friendly part of Maine.
It was a beautiful lake but was a little further from Bar Harbor than expected. If you want a private, secluded environment, it’s perfect.
Didn’t care for the smell of moth balls. Lingered in air and on clothes. Would recommend some minor cosmetic touch ups on paint, especially up stairs where there were spots not painted at all. But overall, a nice house.

Hi Kelley,
I do apologize for the mothball smell - it was a mistake made at the end of last season and we agree that the smell lingers! We will not make that error again. We have also hired a new painter (last painter consulted after last season didn't show) to repaint the interior of the house. Thankfully, future guests will not have to worry about these issues! I am happy that you were able to appreciate the beauty of the lake, it is a very special place.
Thank you for your feedback.
Best,
Karin
