Kayak from our beach! Located in beautiful Westsound, 5 min from ferry, newly renovated cedar cabin with partial water view. West sound Marina is just a short stroll down the street for boat moorage and/or Kenmore Air service. Public access on the shore offers beach combing and sailing. Orcas Island Yacht Club is next door with summer sailing lessons for kids available in the harbor. Relax in the cool evening air enjoying the charming ambiance of the propane fire pit. Plus, brand new, six person hot tub! Enjoy the abundant wildlife families of eagles, deer, geese, peacocks and rabbits and more that make this area their home. Families will love playing in the large level yard . Cozy and secluded for a couple or small family, yet with sleeping quarters and dining areas for six. Lovely traditional style, comfortable and perfect for your group's Orcas stay. Great views and outdoor spaces, gas fire pit, BBQ, large hot tub, 55 inchTV w/5.1 surround. Holds up to 6 , 2 bedrooms (2 queens), plus comfy pull out Queen bed on private enclosed sun porch. Ping pong in game room garage. Large yard with apple and pear and plum tree for delicious eating when in season. Coffee/tea service is provided, all bathroom amenities, and laundry room products. John Wachter has lived in Westsound for many years, and also operates his other facility Called Sunburnt Mermaid Cottages next door. The Sunburnt Mermaid property was originally purchased by John's grandfather, a Bellingham jeweler, more than 80 years ago. Over time many fruit trees and shrubs were planted on this fertile, sunny land, and today the estate has apples, plums, peaches, apricots, seabuckthorn, figs, currants, blueberries and raspberries designed by horticulturalist Arthur Koch, as well as medicinal herb garden designed exclusively by Chris Stateham. Recently a fantastic heated pool and spa with outdoor kitchen so guests can enjoy this gorgeous setting and feel the same magic they feel everyday living in paradise. John also enjoys antiques and collecting, and guests can see many vintage items throughout the property

Located on the sunny side of Orcas and One of the very few rental spots offering a heated pool (June thru mid September), Spa year round, pool hall/game room, kayak and bike rentals, organic garden fixings when in season, 850 feet of creek to explore in back woods, large outdoor fire pit with occasional local musicians joining the fun. So much more.
