About the host

Our profile photo was taken at the overlook on Alligator Hill during a winter snowshoe adventure. We love being outdoors and have spent many years exploring this area in every season. Our dogs, Max (who is dearly missed) and Bogey, have joined us on many of those adventures.

Over time we’ve hiked many of the local trails, explored the beaches and rivers by kayak, biked the heritage trail, visited farmers markets, and discovered great local restaurants, breweries, and wineries. We especially enjoy the relaxed live-music atmosphere you’ll often find at many of the local wineries and breweries.

We’re always happy to share our favorite spots and help guests experience the area the way we do—just ask!

Why they chose this property

The neighborhood offers a peaceful, secluded setting on a wooded ridge overlooking Big Glen Lake while still being just minutes from Glen Arbor and Sleeping Bear Dunes. It feels tucked away and quiet, yet everything—from beaches and hiking trails to restaurants, wineries, and breweries—is an easy drive.

For us, it’s the perfect balance: a relaxing place to unplug and enjoy the view, while also serving as a convenient home base for exploring all that northern Michigan has to offer.

What makes this property unique

What makes Glen Light Cabin special is the view and the way the light changes throughout the day.

Every visit feels a little different depending on the weather and the light—clear sunny mornings, misty lake views, colorful sunsets, or quiet moonlit nights reflecting across Glen Lake. Watching those changes from the cabin never seems to get old and always brings a sense of calm.
