This a great place to stay, and the host was accessible and went out of his way to take care of our needs :-) I recommend this place to any traveler looking for quality.

Almost good - replace those towels!!!

The good: 2 ply TP, paper towels, soaps, cleaners, water and more all provided, cost appropriate, canal boat travel, good communication, went out of their way to help me check in after an early morning arrival flight, good location, the space was clean. Nice people. The bad: and it’s a deal breaker for me - the old filthy towels. He might want to replace the towels at least every 5 or 10 years. I found one hidden in kitchen cabinet that was dark so at least I couldn’t tell it was as disgusting as the former white ones they stocked; I used that one to step on. Seriously, every car wash towel I have at home is better than these, even the ones I use to clean the car tires. I used my t shirts to dry myself instead. So bring a towel (or more t-shirts). One other hygiene issue, the dark colored comforter used for a bedspread doesn’t have a cover that I could see, nor is there a top sheet. This would be nearly impossible to wash or clean after each turnover with the small washer and no dryer. I am not sure how they manage this but I was glad I brought my own top sheet and pillow case (I had meant to bring a towel too but forgot it - too bad, I would have never bothered to do this review or complain about it). Owner has a pretty good thing going but in my opinion really blowing it by not tossing those rags, and putting on a top sheet. It is a good value, but I would not stay again unless they advertise some new towels, and I was trying to go cheap again.
