About this property
Broad River Cabin Total Privacy Riverbend Fishing Hiking- Now Fiber Internet!
***Hurricane Helene Update*** Amazingly, the house was untouched and the property was minimally impacted. We had a mini mudslide behind the house that is now lacking vegetation, but filling in with Spring growth. The river has more rock visible on both sides, and we will be adding a step or two more at the bottom of the access stairs. Black mountain is fully open! Businesses and service workers are counting-on your continued and generous support. So many past and recurring guests have reached out and we are so appreciative of your concern! ************ Settle into this one-of-a-kind riverbend vacation cabin on the headwaters of the pristine and beautiful Broad River. Leave the world behind and enjoy this secluded natural paradise offering the ultimate in privacy, yet situated only minutes away from popular locations and activities in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina! You may not be able to leave the magic of the river, but if you do venture out, you are within 35 minutes of Asheville, Biltmore Estate, Black Mountain, Montreat, Hendersonville, Chimney Rock, or Lake Lure. You may also want to disconnect from the modern world, while that is entirely an option, we now have fiber gigabit internet service for any connectivity you may need.
Turn into the tree-lined hidden driveway, and you’ll see the Broad River as it makes a gentle bend in front of the home. The tranquil river winds its way down the mountain through the lush green of rhododendron, dogwood, hemlock, spruce, pine, and black walnut that landscape the 2 ½ acre property. Jewel-toned dragonflies and songbirds abound, hummingbirds provide endless entertainment at the two porch feeders. Surrounded by woods and wildlife; the river IS your only neighbor!
Enjoy the relaxing sights and sounds of the river from rocking chairs, swing, or table for 4 on the full-length porch of this home in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Wander down to the overlook deck for a closer view, or further down to the river’s edge. Cool your feet, sprawl in the sunlight on a granite outcropping or cast for a few of the native trout. Above all, relax and feel the stress of daily life melt away.

This is a fantastic spot. We loved the view and sitting on the swing near the river. The large dining table was the perfect spot to put together a big puzzle, but it would also be great for a big family. We like this place so much that this was our second stay at the cabin, and we hope to visit again in the years to come.
The cabin was perfect for what we were looking for. It is a very quiet, secluded section of heaven! We enjoyed sitting on the porch drinking coffee and on the lower deck listening to nature. My husband enjoyed wading and fishing in the river. Amazing place!
My wife Marilyn and I truly enjoyed the peace and quiet. We loved that there were no neighbors. Two of our favorite spots were the living room chair by the window (lots of sunshine pouring through) perfect for snuggling and napping!!! Same for the deck with the Adirondack chairs/covered swing...lots of sunshine...great place to unwind and relax!!!
Very relaxing, we had a wonderful time. The location is remote and private. The river runs behind the home and is peaceful and inviting. The living space has all the necessities and room for an active family of 6-8. The owners are nice and responsive.
We had an amazing time during our stay. It's the perfect place to put away the devices and enjoy the outdoors and each others company. It has a well stocked kitchen! Which was heaven!10/10 we will definitely be back!
Another perfect stay! This was our third stay at Jonathan and Melissa’s beautiful cabin on the river, and it just keeps getting better. The location is unbeatable—we loved spending time outdoors, enjoying the peaceful river, fishing, and relaxing on the swing. Morning coffee on the porch with the sound of the water is absolute heaven.Inside, everything was just as warm and welcoming as always. The fireplace and the wood stove made the cabin feel extra cozy, and the sound system was a great touch for relaxing evenings. We also love the live-edge wood added around the main bathroom mirror—such a beautiful detail that fits the cabin’s charm perfectly. As always, Jonathan and Melissa are incredibly kind and responsive hosts, making sure everything is perfect from start to finish. We can’t recommend this cabin enough and are already looking forward to our next stay!
This place was awesome, very private, great place to just relax on a nice flowing river. If anyone is looking for a place to get away, this is the place. I would definitely go back to this location.
The cabin was perfect for our long weekend stay for two couples. Great spaces and relaxing on the porch and deck with the stream below was so relaxing! Great food options in both Lake Lure and Black Mountain. Thanks for a wonderful place to stay!
We had an amazing week at Broad River Cabin!
The location and river access were a dream, and plenty of room for our family of 5. Short (windy) drive to Black Mountain, Asheville, and Chimney Rock/Lake Lure if looking for more to do.
We found our experience at this property to be better than advertised. The pictures do not do this quaint cabin justice. Our family had a blast and enjoyed the having a bend of the river to ourselves. This location was perfect for our elementary school age boys who loved exploring the river. The cabin also provided a great place to slow down and unplug for our busy teenager. Our family rated this their favorite cabin to date and we highly recommend it for those who want a quiet mountain getaway.
Peaceful, Well-Stocked Cabin, Perfect for a Family Getaway
Our family of six had an incredible stay at this peaceful riverfront cabin. The valley setting, the sound of rushing water, and the evening breeze through the windows created such a relaxing atmosphere. The layout was perfect for our family, with plenty of seating and a fully stocked kitchen that made meals easy. We loved gathering at the kitchen table under the cozy overhead lights each night. From the shaded front porch to the clover patch below, every detail felt thoughtful. The kids enjoyed the games and spotting hummingbirds, while we all appreciated the chance to slow down and enjoy quality time together.Highly recommend—we’re already dreaming of our next trip!
We had a lovely stay at the cabin. The location right on the river and only 20 minutes to the town of Black Mountain gave us the opportunity to enjoy NC's gorgeous scenery and visit some great local shops and restaurants. Thank you!
We had an amazing time visiting here. Everything you can think of needing was already there! Great location and inviting home. We loved the views, the quaint little town nearby and all the things you can do within a short drive.
An awesome summer mountain retreat. Quaint cabin next to the river. Spent our days lounging by the river and dinners on the porch. Also convenient to Black Mtn., Chimney rock/Lake Lure with plenty of great breweries and dinner spots. An annual trip for our family.
We loved staying in this peaceful and private cabin! Very well stocked. Amazing time on the river and watching the hummingbirds on the porch. Hope to come again soon!! Jonathan and Melissa are very nice people,,,Thank you, again!!!
