Mother, daughter, daughter in law and friend getaway.
We loved the location and the sheep, llama and donkey's were very friendly. The barn cat Jazz was one of our high lights of the trip. The cabin was beautiful and we had everything we needed.
Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven with us.
We stayed here for our anniversary getaway, and it was absolutely perfect!
It’s so close to town; far enough from the city to hear the frogs, crickets, and birds; and the animals add enough to the ambiance to make this one hard to pass up next time we come to Fredericksburg!
We weren’t expecting to enjoy the goats as much as we did, they were always so happy to see us :) It was just a really, really cool place to stay, and I woke up the last day thinking ahead of when we could come back :)
We spent three nights of our spring break here and it was wonderful! The property is fantastic, super clean, well decorated, and had everything we needed! We enjoyed the sheep, goats (who visited us every time we came and went) and alpaca (all of whom were very quiet at night). We enjoyed the hot tub in the evening and the stars! There's lots to do and see in fairly close proximity. We hiked, saw the wild flowers, ate well, saw the LBJ ranch, and went to a cave. All and all, a fabulous experience! Thanks fo the memories!
It was wonderful. We were greeted by cute furry creatures including but not limited to alpacas. The home is cozy, quiet, and houses any amenities we could have hoped for. The bed was not the most comfortable I’ve ever felt but I slept just fine. We enjoyed the rustic vibes complete with plenty of modern day technological comforts. The hot tub was luxurious and the stars were bright.. Would absolutely recommend this place for anyone looking for a quiet getaway.
I will be honest; I was concerned about the sheep. "Will they make noise all night? Will they be walking around near me? Do they bite?"
The sheep are contained and surrounding the adorable Farmhouse - and believe it or not, being surrounded by sheep is the most relaxing thing you can imagine. The llamas are ADORABLE and the mother goat with her baby goat made us feel like were were in a big petting zoo (though alas, you can't pet the animals as they are quite shy). This is a great way to experience farm life without having to do any of the work. I love that!
The home is beautiful and well appointed. Beds are cozy and everything was very clean. The only minor complaint were the air fresheners which we unplugged and put on the porch for the duration of our visit as we are all pretty smell sensitive.
I would be careful who you allow to sleep upstairs as the ladder to the loft is a bit daunting. We laughed and said it would be prefect if you could climb up and somehow slide down (future renovation, perhaps?!). But once you're up there, the beds are cozy and there's a window unit in case it gets warm up there.
The hot tub is clean and lovely and seriously, this is one of the best places I've stayed in a while. The neighboring villa is a larger place to rent (and owned by the same people), so you could easily do a family reunion with both properties.
We will certainly be back! We loved every minute and used our time to practice social distancing with the sheep!
Decor is super cute and carried out beautifully throughout the house. House has everything you need, dishes, microwave, fluffy towels, comfy beds, cable, wifi...the list goes on. The location was further than I expected from town but I have zero spatial awareness so maybe that's not even an issue. That being said the views are gorgeous and the sunrises, oh my! The only somewhat negative review I can leave is for the animals. I wanted them to be up close and personal, possibly come up to see us. They felt otherwise! They, too, were adorable and probably a good judge of character! Would stay here in a heartbeat!
A few friends and I came here from Austin to celebrate my 30th birthday. The farm is adorable and the animals are so friendly!! We enjoyed the beautiful sunset, the hot tub, and the farmhouse decor. It was cozy for watching movies and relaxing. It was also conveniently located to pickup food and wine during the pandemic. We would love to come back!
This place is so cute we felt like we were staying in a magazine spread. Absolutely love the owners that happened to be onsite at their other rental next door on our visit. Location is wonderfully close to town but is definitely out in the country with all the farm animals and lots of stars at night (no light pollution).
This place was fantastic! Such a great spot and the animals were a bonus. The owners are very helpful and responsive. They provide so much to make your stay peaceful and relaxing.
We absolutely adored this property! We loved everything - from the animals on the property to its prime location. We are definitely planning another trip back!

About the host

We love hosting folks at our Fredericksburg home. We purchased the property in 2019 as a place to relax after a long work week. It's been such a pleasure to share it with people and have them enjoy the serene atmosphere, the night stars, and of course the animals.
