My husband and I decided to take a short vacation to an area in Maine that we have never been to escape our busy lives and relax. We could not have chosen a better place! The house is very clean and had everything we needed. The location is beautiful, very quiet, the view is amazing especially at night. The sky at night was so clear we saw many more stars than we ever see back home. During the day we took short trips to the town of Bath, Reid State Park, a short drive to the biggest dog park we have ever been to (our dogs loved it!!). The fall is a good time of year to visit if you are looking for a quiet get-a-way. We are not sure what the summer would be like but we would definitely try canoeing if we came in the summer months. The dock is just a short walk away. Great communication with the hosts! Harold responds quickly with any questions. We have to say that we have never seen a bigger cat than Clyde!
We went to Georgetown for two nights so we could watch the Bowdoin vs Wesleyan football game.
The cottage was small but clean and had beautiful views of the water.
We were close to Bath and an excellent restaurant called Blue.
The cottage is also close to Reed State Park. It’s rustic but we would come back.
Although I was alone, there is ample space for more. The cottage and surroundings are so peaceful and quiet, but still close to activities. Extremely well appointed and clean.
The cottage has a beautiful view of the inlet. It's clean and cozy and feels very private. Convenient to Bath for some small town exploring or Reid State Park for a beach day (park pass was included which was a nice perk!). We had a wonderful, relaxing couples getaway. Didn't get a chance to use the kayaks but we did sit on the dock and dip our feet in to stay cool.
We were four adults who enjoyed everything about this set apart spot, it is incredible! From our first interaction with Harold until we left the property everything was excellent! Cozy, clean cottage with plenty of room to “hangout’” in the rain. Harold provides great customer service. The view is spectacular!!! So good, we already booked for next year😊😊
My daughter moved to Bath and we decided to visit her over the Christmas holiday. We wanted a place with plenty of room and allowed pets. This property fit the bill. We had a minor glitch with the check-in process, but the property manager was very responsive, and we were on our way to a great visit. Despite having dreary weather for all of our trip, the view off the deck is incredible! I look forward to going back and enjoying coffee on those waterfront Adirondak chairs. The road back to the cottage was muddy and a little rough. They had just experienced a massive amount of rain in the weeks leading up to our trip. It wasn't an issue for us because we had 4-wheel drive. We'll definitely be back to the cottage for a future visit!
Clean and cozy cabin. Easy in and out, certainly the summer months would offer more activity potential than a cold and rainy November weekend, but we made the best of it. Cabin was just what we were looking for for a guys weekend retreat “off-grid”. Thanks for booking us last minute!
Very nice private and secluded location. The house was cute and comfortable and equipped as described. The owner was responsive to communications. Will be back.
Absolutely loved this property in Georgetown! My husband and I had a wonderful week just enjoying the beautiful views, hiking in the area, and of course enjoying Reid State Park. House was very clean and comfy. The area is just lovely. And the lobster was delish!! We'll be back!
This was another wonderful stay in Georgetown. The weather was fabulous. It's such a lovely spot and so quiet. Perfect for a week away. Great location, North of Portland, near Brunswick, Bath and Boothbay. There's plenty to see and do. We couldn't be happier.
Remarkably isolated from noise and businesses, in a forest, on calm waters.
We had not expected the sublime ambience offered by this stay of only two full days—too short! We realized that the silence of Robinhood bay and its slow tidal waters was delicious for our brains, an absolute balm of peace and calm for those of us used to street noises, even the pleasure of waves crashing (our prior Maine dwelling). This was perfect for us. When outside, there was the gentle sound of the creek beside this home, and occasional bird sounds. Motor boats were uncommon and very transient.
The home is an older one with a perfect-view deck out front, and fully functional in every ways. Lots of extra blankets and quilts for cold nights; windows with screens which opened for warm nights. Good mattresses. A kitchen well stocked for eating in, including lobster dinners, but restaurants are near by enough. Mixed conifer forests surround this home, except for the view down to the cove.
Black ducks visited the dock, and wild turkeys roosted in the trees beside the home.
If you love Nature, quiet, and absolute peace, you will love this home deep on the cove which almost bisects large Georgetown Island. We fell in love with it.
We stayed a week and enjoyed every minute. Great cottage on a quiet cove. Wonderful place to unwind and unplug. Short trip to Bath for shopping as well as Reid State Park. Would stay here over and over again. Loved it.
The cottage was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed for a lovely vacation. Although we did not take advantage of the kayaks, we enjoyed listening to the waterfall from the dock and spending time admiring the view from the deck. The bedrooms were comfortable and the kitchen and bathroom well-equipped. The 10 minute drive to Bath was a pleasant surprise! We would consider staying here again!
This property was just as it was listed. We enjoyed a very peaceful location with lovely water views. The town was close to all the day trips we had planned so location worked out well. We really enjoyed the included pass to Reid State Park!
It was a GREAT stay, I wish we could have stayed longer.
