The cabin is clean and well-stocked with all the items we needed for our stay! The lake access is super close for swimming and kayaking and we enjoyed using the grill and fire pit! Checking in and out was very easy and Julie was very friendly and accommodating!

Thank you so much for leaving our property so nice after your stay. I couldn’t even tell Kramer was a “doggie guest” - glad to hear you had an enjoyable stay.
We stayed here because we had family in the area. The house was very clean and cozy. All the beds were very comfortable. The property and lake view is beautiful.

Thank you for taking good care of our property. MN and it’s cold weather sure made a visit during your stay. Brrr! 😊 Glad you enjoyed yourself. Would love to have you and your family back anytime!
We found this by chance and are so happy we did. They had everything we needed for a smooth vacation and the kids loved it. The fire pit was a great touch and the kayak was a definite plus. 10/10 we’ll be back for sure.

Thank you for the wonderful handwritten thank you note/card. It was lovely. I appreciated you washing and folding all the towels. That was a great help and totally unexpected... Would love to have you back again as a guest!
We rented the cabin for family and friends to stay in during our daughter's wedding. The location was very convenient and offered several local attractions. Cabin was clean and fit our needs well! Thank you!!!
It was an awesome cabin. The experience was great. I misunderstood that I needed to have pet approval prior to staying. I was able to chat with owner and resolved easily. Enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for leaving our cabin so nice. You’re welcome back anytime! Glad you enjoyed your stay.
We stayed here while in town visiting family. The house was perfect for the three of us and had room for more if we needed. The new split ac/heat system works great and helped take the chill out of the air.
From the home you can see the lake and there is a place to eat as you enter the neighborhood.

So glad you enjoyed your stay at our place in Minnesota. Wish the weather would of been better for you all. Thank you for taking such good care of our place, you’re welcome back anytime!
Julie was the perfect host - she stayed in touch with all the necessary info, good follow up but not intrusive. The cabin was exactly as promised. It was a great "home base" for my husband and myself for our September get away to visit 6 state parks in NW Minnesota over several days. The cabin had everything we needed, it was very clean, and we really appreciated the full size bathroom!

Thank you - you were the perfect guest! Hope you can stay again! Sounds like you had an adventurous time!
Spent a few days over the 4th of July Holiday. We went biking in a couple of the parks that were a short drive away. We also went hiking, canoeing, and swimming right at Island lake. At night, we enjoyed making smores on the campfire, and during the day, grilling on the provided Blackstone. Julie was great to work with!

Thank you for staying at our cabin. You left our cabin so clean and appreciated you burning all the twigs and scrap wood around the yard/ fire pit. My husband joked and said next we’ll leave you a chain saw. Lol
Rented out the lake house for 13 weeks for my travel nursing job in Fosston MN. This property doesn’t disappoint! A home away from home! Owners are just minutes away and are very prompt with any questions that need answering. For sure will be back, and sad I couldn’t stay longer! Wonderful for Kayaking/boating and the lake is feet away from your front door, good restaurants within minutes. Friendly hometown lake house community!

The living quarters were clean, and very very nice. Beds were comfortable!
But, on the downside, was taken aback when after I booked, and paid in full a non refundable payment, we got an email with 13, yes, 13 pages of further instructions about the cabin, in clouding that we should NOT drink the well water, and that we might be charged for excessive electricity used.
I understand concerns about safety and liability, and not being taken advantage of by a renter… but the only time we got a prompt response, was when I wanted to use the kayak we were told we could use.
There was notes and instructions on everything which was partially helpful, but it really was overkill…… I felt uncomfortable to use anything provided and felt spied on! When,as a joke, my son-in-law covered the camera a “friendly” neighbor crushed by three times, asking about the cabin, and how we liked it. I felt uncomfortable also inviting family to come visit with all the rules and notes.
A caution, as an older person there was stairs everywhere and the steps were irregular, and different sizes, not up to safety code.

Sorry for the 13 page set of rules sent to you. I do not send this out, VRBO does. It must be the whole info binder (that we ask you to review once you are at the cabin) they automatically forward it out prior to you arriving. Which i was not aware of. It should only be the one page of directions to get to the cabin and how to operate the door/lock box. But on that note, I would rather provide more info on the place, than not.
You made mention of the well water info. I feel that is very important to let people know that I feel it’s not safe to drink the well water and to let them know to use/drink the filtered water provided. Many people have not stayed in a rural/lake setting and are not familiar with such living.
As for the electricity use, that is more geared toward long term renters and that note is on the side of the fridge, where we have instructions for using the mini AC/Heating split unit. We have had long term families stay, and our bill tripled in cost. We would rather keep our rates down for people and could not do so if everyone wasn’t respectful. Some people have left the air on with windows open and ect. We have instructions on the remote and the mini split because many people are not familiar with such units. If there’s a note about using something at the cabin, it was put there AFTER someone has asked the question and wasn’t clear about it.
As for being spied on, I’m not sure where you are coming from. We have ONE exterior camera (that is in plain sight) that only shows the drive way and about 4 of the steps. It’s a rural setting, and we installed it when there was theft going on around the lake, especially in the winter months when people are not around as much. I’m not sure who the neighbor was coming by the cabin asking you questions. You have the right to ask anybody that does not belong there to leave. If you would of text/called me i could of maybe found out who it was. Many of the cabin owners are new to the area, and i have not met them, all since we no longer live there.
When booking the cabin, it states that there are stairs and unlevel ground. It also shows you clear pictures of the steps/walking area. So as an older person, you should of taken the time to read each caption under the photos provided. I try “paint” a clear picture for people when they are booking the property.
As for the double kayak use, we have a waiver for the guests to sign to protect us from any liabilities. If you choose not to sign the waiver, we ask you do not use it! It’s an extra bonus we added for our guests to enjoy at no extra charge. You as a guest FAILED to sign one, and used it anyways. You as a guest also failed to dispose of fish trimmings properly and caused the garage/garbage to stink. You also didn’t not turn off the AC when you left. It’s unfortunate that you failed to contact me about any of this.
We came to visit family for the Thanksgiving holiday and needed somewhat to stay locally. We usually stay at the hotel in Fosston, but wanted to have someone more comfortable with as many people as we have. We looked online and found this cabin for almost the same price as the hotel. The rooms were all as stated online. The home was clean and stocked ready for us! They even left cookies and coffee! The home had a nice size yard for the kids to play as well. They even got to make a small snowman! During the stay if I needed anything I text Julie and she was prompt to reply. We enjoyed the stay and recommend the home to anyone looking for a place to stay! We will definitely be back ourselves!

Thank you so much. It was a pleasure! Come back again!
Beautiful home and everything needed was there. Weather was cool, but toasty warm inside and I loved it. Due to a family emergency of brother on hospice I had to leave 2days early and
brother and friend couldn't join me as planned at all, & I didn't get to enjoy the full weekend but loved the time I was there and very happy I have this cabin booked for 2 more 4 day weekends this summer. Makes me happy, and hoping to finally meet Julie in person. Thanks Julie!

My husband I and have owned this property for about 20+ years. We lived here for a short time around 10 years ago but used it as our vacation home while our kids were younger. We have totally remodeled it over the years and love the lake. We live in Bagley, MN which is around 12 miles away.
Why they chose this property
The property is on a back lot, but is very close to the public access. We now offer a 2 person kayak to use while on the property for you to enjoy the views on the lake. It's a nice quite cabin tucked up on a small hill over looking the lake. We offer a deck and a large fire pit.
