Whale Song - one of the Mendocino Coast's finest offerings

Whale Song provides a dramatic setting on the ocean bluff with awesome views of surf, sunsets and Pt. Cabrillo Light House - with three bedrooms (1 king, 2 queens), two full baths, and just four miles from Mendocino. Can it get much better than this?
There’s a large, expansive deck overlooking the surging ocean with the bluff edge just 25 feet away, a small cove and the lighthouse across the Bay, and - for those indulgent moments - a hot tub.
Just sit back, relax, and marvel in the views.

Whale Song is within walking distance to the State preserve surrounding the Lighthouse and it’s only a half-mile walk to the Caspar Beach. A great getaway... but you'll have to share Whale Song with feathered friends – songbirds, gulls and geese. Because of the cliff front location there is a minimum age of 10 years and over required for any guest.

Although Whale Song is pet friendly, please note that it is limited to dogs only with a maximum number of no more than 2.

This house is incredibly located on a cliff with astounding views. The small personal touches really ment a lot to me from the dog supplies to the fresh flowers and birthday note they left. We were blessed with clear weather and had the pleasure of seeing whales everyday right from the porch, living/dining room and even the primary bedroom. Already looking forward to coming back.
Sunrises were spectacular!
Cozy fireplace too.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is likely our favorite house rto rent we've found in this area. The view out the large glass windows and from the porch is spectacular. This year we spotted whales migrating on at least 4 days (you need binoculars to see anything more than a "spout ion the distance") and the ones on site are pretty beat up. The location is somewhat secluded even though there's some houses quite close to you on each side. We go in the off season, so we've rarely had any neighbors during our stay. The one thing that you need to be aware of is the lighthouse on the point shines brightly and constantly and will definitely leak through the window shades in the master bedroom, so if you're light sensitive bring some eyeshades to wear

We arrived later than we’d expected, on a cold dark night, and stepped through the front door to a toasty warm house with warm lighting from lamps turned on in each room. A perfect welcoming. The views in the house are amazing, with the waves crashing and the lighthouse in the background. The house is so cozy, clean, and comfortable, making you feel right at home. We do agree with the other reviewers who have been asking the past couple years for new mattresses! Seems odd that this hasn’t been done yet - kind of a big issue with a pretty simple fix. We only use the bed in the primary bedroom, and it is sunken in, lumpy, and pretty uncomfortable. That fix, and the addition of blackout curtains to block out the lighthouse beam while sleeping, would make that bedroom just perfect.Otherwise, a lovely stay! We will be back.

My husband and I were fortunate enough to be able to rent Whale Song for our Anniversary. It's always booked because the house is so wonderful. We were able to stay a week this time and it was fabulous. The weather was clear and sunny every day. The big picture windows give awesome views from crashing waves to the ocean and beyond. Sunsets are breathtaking. The kitchen is great with all the necessary appliances. The entire house was very clean and comfortable. 3bd/2ba is way more than my husband & I need. But location, location, location is everything! This house has everything! Can't wait to return again.

We had a wonderful stay here! The view is spectacular! We were here for the Anderson valley Pinot festival, which also did not disappoint! Always so fun spending time on the coast. Can’t wait to visit again!
