Beautiful villa

Villa Bellamy is a beautiful modern villa with wonderful views of the lagoon from the top terrace. My only suggestion would be to have sun loungers on the top terrace and to have a sunbed per guest as we were a party of 7 adults and there were only 6 loungers. Also the 4th bedroom is in fact the playroom and didn’t have 2 single beds and a double futon as described. There was a bunk bed in the playroom and another in one of the double bedrooms. These are not suitable for adults,very narrow steps (for a child) and certainly not for us ladies of a certain age! When I pointed this out to Dora on our arrival she suggested the sofa in the main lounge. Again if guests are up late or early this isn’t great! We put 2 futons in the playroom for our stay,so not very comfortable. The pool is fab and we didn’t have it heated but we made good use of it even though we was very unlucky with the weather on our week (22nd June-29th june) only 2 days of sunshine and mostly cloudy and rain.But my family made good use of the bikes provided which was great!

Everything we hoped for

A luxe and impressive property, that suited everything we could want in a holiday home. Very very well equipped and a good layout. The local area with the lagoon is great for young children, and the property having a play area was a fantastic plus. We had a wonderful holiday, no small part due to the great place to stay.

Peaceful, kid friendly + well equipped

We loved our stay, the house was so well equipped for a range of children and perfect set up for a few families. Ample space and we loved exploring all the surrounding areas. It felt sleepy but there was enough to explore and do that meant we were never bored. Bike rides, the lagoon, the little local village, gorgeous towns… we can’t recommend the house ans location enough.

Lovely Family Holiday Home

Beautiful villa, with everything that you need. We loved the area, the bars and restraunts were really nice. I would say renting a car is essential as quite a bit away from the beach and shops. Would 100% recommend a stay here, lovely if you just need a relaxing holiday with family and friends. Just what we needed!

Lovely stay in Portugal

A group of us (8 friends) have just enjoyed a thoroughly good week at this beautiful hillside luxury villa in Foz do Arelho in Portugal (1hr from Lisbon by car). The villa is decorated and furnished to a high standard and enjoys an outlook over a lagoon (off the Atlantic Ocean). The chairs, beds and sunbeds were comfortable. The pool was well maintained and heated to 27°. At an extra cost for it to be heated, this was worth it. The kitchen had everything you could ask of a modern kitchen. Loads of patio and veranda space to relax and enjoy the sunshine. We enjoyed 3 BBQs on charcoal brick-built BBQ. You definitely need a car to stay here. The villa is on a hillside, with shops and restaurants all a good 10min drive. A 5min drive to the coast provides free parking for the lovely beach and bars.

Perfect family property

A fantastic property for a family! It has absolutely everything, the kids loved the toys and the pool (we paid extra to have it heated). Really clean and well equipped. Lots of great restaurants close by, and a gorgeous beach. Only negative was the Neighbours, they were jet washing until 9-10pm at night, and the noise reverberates around, got really tedious by the third night (this could just be time of year/getting ready for people to rent etc) Other than that would highly recommend great for family’s and groups lots of space and really reasonably priced. Will be visiting again!

A gated modern, spacious, well maintained villa perfect for families

The villa was wonderfully clean, well-kept and well equipped. The kitchen was particularly well equipped and well designed which leads out to a lovely covered outdoor dining area with built in barbecue beside. The swimming pool is much larger than the photos suggest (handy pool toys are provided) , good quality sun loungers and towels are provided. We had the pool heated which makes all the difference! Useful points: A car is essential (supermarket, restaurants are all a short drive away - the terrain is quite hilly.) There are 2 bedrooms on the ground floor and two on the upstairs (some beds are bunk beds)

Excellent in every way

Beautiful villa , so well equipped with everything one could possibly want for all ages. We loved having the bikes to ride down to the beach and the bars/restaurants there and also to ride around the lagoon which is a beautiful ride. The location was great, very peaceful yet near enough to places of interest to drive to if you wish. We had the pool heated which was a huge plus in September, great pool toys. I can’t rate it highly enough. We only had a week there but wish we could have stayed longer.

Fabulous Family Home away from Home

What an amazing property, real luxury but with everything you could hope for in a holiday with children. we traveled with 4 adults and 2 children under 2 and the villa was well equipt for everything we (and they) needed. Great relaxing adult spaces along with a fab playroom and outdoor play area. A hire car would be recommended, you can walk to the water by the lagoon within 5 mins but the real beach area is probably a 25-30min walk. We did this happily as our two were happy in there prams but little legs might find it hard. Some lovely restaurants down by the beach and some great day trips locally also which made having the car worth it. The owner could not have been more accommodating, answering questions quickly, which allowed us to travel with much less than we might have with 2 little ones as they had nearly everything we needed. We would certainly love to return one day!

Absolutely perfect home from home in beautiful surroundings!

The villa was stunning with everything a family could possibly need to make their holiday perfect. The quality of the finishing touches makes all the difference, it was beautifully furnished and very comfortable to stay there. I was amazed at how much was provided from baby equipment to pool toys and cycles. My family and I loved staying there, we had several BBQ's and the villa is so well equipped for preparing meals. With two large outside tables and one inside then you have options no matter what the weather is like. The beach is just a short walk away and the surrounding countryside is just beautiful. The owners really care and check that everything is ok throughout your stay. When we arrived the level of cleanliness was first rate and there was excellent attention to detail. A welcome food pack was also waiting for us when we arrived. It is the perfect destination for a hard working family who need a complete break in a beautiful and peaceful location. We will certainly be returning.

Superb holiday villa

We had a wonderful relaxing week at Villa Beleamy. The house is equipped to the highest standard, it is immaculate and everything has been thought about in detail. Our family enjoyed relaxing at the heated pool, cycling in the area and canoeing on the Lagoon. Also great for day trips to Obidos and Sintra. The hosts were friendly and responded to any queries promptly and Dora was warm and happy to help. Strongly recommend.

Beautiful villa.

Lovely spacious villa - perfect for all the family.

My family and I (includes teenagers and small children) have just spent a perfect week at this villa. It is spacious, modern and extremely well-equipped and catered perfectly for all our mixed age group! The villa has everything and more! We loved the quiet location - would recommend a car though to get to nearby shops and eating places. We had the pool heated which was well worth it in June. We received a lovely warm welcome on our arrival, despite being considerably delayed and an equally warm send off as we departed. We will definitely be returning - hopefully next year!

Superb modern luxury Villa

We had a fantastic stay at the Villa. There were 2 families in the party including 4 adults and 5 children. This was perfect for us as it had all the lovely touches and quality finishes that give it that touch of class, whilst also being very family and children orientated. There is playroom with lots of toys, including many craft items. There is the upstairs 2nd lounge area with the Wii which the children loved if they'd had enough of the pool! There was an outside playground with a trampoline and the bikes in the garage were great fun. The kitchen is of fantastic quality and very very well equipped. There are many fine touches that make this Villa feel more like a home rather than just a standard holiday Villa like the nespresso machine, the Sonos speakers, the ornaments, the quality of the furniture and the overal cleanliness. We have stayed in many villas over the years and this one is by far the nicest. We were due to arrive at the Villa at 10pm and were to be greeted by Dora who were to welcome us and show us around. However, due to car rental delays at Lisbon airport it wasn't until 1am that we arrived - and Dora was still there waiting to welcome us. A lovely service. We did have a couple of minor issues during our stay but having contacted Dora these were both sorted within a couple of hours - again a fantastic service. Nicki, the property owner contacted us a couple of times (via email) during the stay just to make sure that everything was ok and that we were having a good time. The only slightly negative comment I'd make has nothing to do with the actual villa but with the location. The closest restaurant and supermarket is about a 40 minute walk away - albeit a very nice walk along the lagoon. Also the overall standard of restaurants in Foz do Arelho is quite poor, although very reasonably priced. On the plus side the beach and lagoon at Foz is amazing for children and very pretty. The water is so calm it's very safe for children to play and swim in, You do need a car here (which we had). Obidos is a gorgeous walled town that is only 20 mins away, Peniche has a great surfing/body board beach which is about 25 mins away and the closest larger supermarkets (Aldi, Lidl, Supermarche) are all about 15 mins away. Overall, fantastic villa, fantastic holiday, gorgeous beaches and fantastic customer service - would definitely recommend.

Wonderful Property

Modern, cool, airy accommodation, clean and well maintained, with plenty of space, well equipped. Good size pool and again plenty of space outside. Only problem was the weak broad band which meant limitations on wifi signal (even with booster). Couple of notes not given with other details about villa; Nearest pharmacy is in Foz Do Arelho (about 2 Km), very efficient with good English. We knew about supermarkets being closed on Sundays, but didn't know local mini-markets were open, all day. Local restaurant 'Amigos da Patio' was great, but can get filled with locals after 8:30 pm, even mid-week.

First Class Luxury Villa

This was our first visit to Portugal (2 adults and 3 children aged 7, 10 and 14) and what a perfect choice we made with regard to the location and accommodation. We did not hire a car but chose to take a taxi from Lisbon airport to the accommodation which for us was a perfect choice. Upon arrival we were met by Dora and like the taxi driver was very friendly and gave us a warm welcome. She showed us around what can only be described as a first class villa. Not only is it big, it is also immaculately presented. As mentioned in a previous review the kitchen is so well equipped it has absolutely everything you would need. The bathrooms are of generous size and again spotless. The view from the upstairs balcony takes your breath away it is stunning looking out over the lagoon. It is in a non commercialised area which for us was ideal. It is about a 5 minute walk down to the lagoon and if you walk further along the lagoon you eventually come to a sandy beach. As we arrived by taxi we used the bikes which were available at the villa to cycle around and to go to the mini market (about 15 minute cycle to the shop) to buy groceries. We would highly recommend Restaurante Europa which is about a 30 minute walk from the villa along the lagoon path. It serves the most wonderful fresh fish and other seafood. The service is great and they are very good with the children. They don't serve children size portions so if you have younger children they might want to share a dish. If you sit outside you have an amazing view of the sea and can watch the sunset. The owner of Villa Beleamy was very attentive throughout the whole process from booking the holiday to e-mailing us whilst we were at the villa to check that everything was OK. I felt very confident that if we had had a problem it would have been sorted out as quickly as possible. We would certainly return again and we have recommended the villa to other members of our family and friends.

Excellent property for large families albeit a little remote

Villa Beleamy was fantastic accommodatiom for us as a large family (two adults, two children of 5 and 1 plus grandparents). The quality of accommodation was excellent, bedrooms were well equipped with comfortable beds and linen, bathrooms were stocked with plentiful quality towels. Plenty of space for everyone with various seating and dining areas both inside and out. The children's playroom and toys on offer for children to use were simply brilliant, you could tell Villa Beleamy is family owned and cared for. Communication between the owner and ourselves was excellent, very helpful and informative with a speedy return of our security deposit at the end of our holiday. The only minor negative points were that the swimming pool was a little too cold for us, it's unheated so unfortunately a little chilly for children to spend long playing in, fine for a quick dip to cool down from the sun, but any longer than that and we were shivering. Also the Villa is in a fairly remote residential location, very peaceful which was nice, but no local shop/bakery etc to walk to. Bikes are provided which is helpful but a car is essential to reach any shops or restaurants/bars.
