Salty Kisses & Goodnight Wishes is a one bedroom (with AC), fully equipped, home on the peaceful side of St. John, in lovely Coral Bay.
Coral Bay’s bars, restaurants and small shops are just a few minutes down the road and the North Shore beaches are short 10-minute drive away. And if you are seeking a bit more excitement Cruz Bay is not far and we can even arrange taxi service if you would like to plan a carefree night on the “town”.
While you can always enjoy a gentle breeze and very few bugs the house also features ceiling fans and AC.
The bedroom has a luxurious queen size bed, DISH television and DVD player, and offers beautiful views of the lush green mountains from the slider doors that lead to the expansive deck.
The living room is inviting and offers a carefully curated library of books that tell you the story of St. John (fiction and non fiction) as well as a collection of games, birding books and binoculars to enjoy the daily feathered visitors. DISH television and DVD player and Bluetooth speakers allow you to play your own soundtrack for your stay in paradise.
The full kitchen has everything you could want including; microwave; dishwasher; coffee maker, toaster, blender; full sets of dishes, glasses, pots and pans, knives etc. unleash your inner chef if you are so inclined. Or enjoy the delicious selection of restaurants situated in Coral Bay.
The deck offers a lovely view of Coral Bay harbor and has a dining area as well as comfy outdoor sofa. In fact that is where we spend most of our time when we are there!

We absolutely loved this property. My wife and I stayed here for a week and found it to be a very relaxing place to unwind after long days on the trails or beach. We loved how well appointed it was with lots of thought put into what we might need for our stay. The beach chairs and other items were most appreciated! We utilized the outdoor deck nearly every morning while we ate breakfast and found ourselves back out there in the evenings. The homeowner reached out to ensure our stay was going well and was responsive when I had a question. I simply can't say enough good things about this property. We LOVED it! Thank you!

Lovely Home

Loved the home and location! The view was gorgeous! But most of all we appreciated how well it was equipped with everything needed to enjoy our vacation! Especially the beach supplies!

Perfect getaway

We needed a quick last minute place to stay and even though the driveway was hard for me to maneuver and it was far from most things to do it was gorgeous and just what we needed.

Quiet days in Coral Bay

First time here and a good choice to stay away from the hustle of the Cruz area. Easy drive up to the North Shore beaches and close to amenities. The property was exactly what we were looking for and had everything we needed to be comfortable. Looking forward to our return trip to St John.

Wonderful trip

My mom and I loved staying here. It provided everything we needed and more. The bed was so comfy and so was the indoor and outdoor couch! The breeze that goes through the property is so nice whether you are inside or out. The house was so easy to get to and a great location for the places we wanted to visit on this trip! It’s right there in Coral Bay and very easy to get to the North Shore beaches. I highly recommend this property.

What a gem! Everything you need to experience Coral Bay! Listening to the tree frogs at night while looking at the stunning Coral Bay was out of this world! Please be aware that you must know how to handle a jeep to get up to property!

Awesome views!

The property was just as advertised. Very clean and comfortable and the bed was very comfortable. This is the quiet side of the island and you do need a vehicle to get pretty much anywhere, a taxi is hard to get. The jeep we rented from Amanda and Owen was great, the beaches were awesome! When we needed anything or had a question Amanda was quick to respond. Thanks for hosting us, it was such a great experience!

Lovely little villa

This was our first time in Saint John, and we were confident this place would be great — but it truly exceeded our expectations. Check-in was easy, the views were stellar (lush, green, iguanas in the treetops!), and the house was clean, cozy, and conveniently stocked with everything from beach floaties to a cooler to birding books and binoculars. Amanda was great. She let us know she was there if we needed anything, but also gave us plenty of space. It was a super special trip overall, and staying here was integral to the experience. We hope to be back again!

I almost hate to tell you how perfect this place is, because when you find something this good you want to keep it for yourself! We are repeat guests here, and we could not imagine staying on St John anywhere else as a couple. The deck is amazing, wonderful views and excellent shading in morning and evening. The Villa is clean and well stocked. The location is great for a stay in coral bay. The host is absolutely wonderful. Communication is easy with Amanda, she’s there if you need her but not intrusive. She’s thought of every detail, even down to a water rinse on the porch to wash the saltwater off snorkel gear and sand off of shoes and feet before you enter the house. House has ac in bedroom, but with the windows and the breeze we only ran it at night when we slept. Staying here feels like coming home to us!

Lovely Stay in Coral Bay

Coral Bay is on the less busy side of St. John and this little home from home was the perfect getaway spot for us. We enjoyed the stocked kitchen and beach supplies as well as the cute 1 bedroom that had everything we needed. Exactly as pictured. Gorgeous porch view- perfect for enjoying your coffee every morning and easy drives to Maho Bay and Salt Pond Bay. A few call outs for the new traveler - the driving on St. John has a lot of steep hills and switchbacks so a Jeep or other vehicle that sits higher off the ground is a real nice to have. You will need drinking water since they run on rainwater at the VRBO. We used 8ish gallons for 2 people for 4 days so definitely get plenty at the start of your trip. Grab food at Dolphin Market near Cruz Bay before you head over to Coral Bay and plan on island prices for eating in and grocery shopping. Bring reef safe sunscreen or purchase on island ($20 for 4 oz when we bought it) and don’t forget your snorkel gear!

Hillside Coral Bay Cottage

What makes this place great? Great views down into Coral Bay and houses across the steep valley. Large deck with both covered and open areas for seating. The house is small, but feels very spacious and comfortable with vaulted ceilings, lots of space between furniture and attractive stone accent wall. Large vanity with double sinks in bathroom. The owner was welcoming with directions and helpful with advice. We spent 12 days and visited all 3 main USVIs and this was the only place where we saw the official bird Bananaquit. Things you should know. The property is located just off of the main road (Highway 10) that connects the 2 sides of the island so you will hear traffic. Trucks gun their engines going up the hill and honking is a routine form of communication with short beeps for hi and thanks and long warning blasts from big trucks coming around the blind corners. If you are looking for complete serenity you might be disappointed. Coral Bay only has a few restaurants to choose from, with most being in Cruz Bay. The drive to Cruz Bay is just under half an hour which doesn’t sound like a lot, but it is definitely not a relaxing trip. Takes all of your attention to drive safely on the left side with narrow, windy and steep roads. I wouldn’t want to do it in the dark. Best things to do. Ram Head Trail Hike Snorkelling Salt Pond Beach for fish and Hawksnest Bay for Elkhorn coral Relax and swim at Trunk Bay

Perfect for Our Purpose

The house was exactly as advertised and perfectly situated between the less-touristy sides of the Island. We were there for the National Park experience primarily, and the house's location was a short distance to all things interesting: hiking, snorkeling, bars, and grocery stores. The driveway is a bit daunting, particularly without back-up cameras in a lot of the rental vehicles, but it is doable. The large patio is meant for sipping cocktails and every possible cooking utensil was there. Amanda was charming and helpful. Just what we wanted!

Everything was wonderful!

My husband and I enjoyed our week here very much. The home was exceptionally clean and very, very well stocked with everything we could use.There was ample towels for the beach, towels for the bathroom, beach noodles, beach chairs and umbrella. carrying bags for the grocery store. The bathroom had more than enough toilet paper, little bottles of soap, shampoo, and conditioner. More than we could possibly use.For us, the location was perfect as it was very close to the beautiful beaches and Skinny Legs restaurant.There were plenty of books and maps for us to acclimate and get accustomed to the area as well as a perfectly functioning television with live TV and a plethora of movie and series options. There was definitely truth in advertising because everything we saw before we looked at our vacation was definitely there plus more. My husband and I very highly recommend this place. Paradise

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful, comfortable villa that overlooks Coral Bay. It is beautifully decorated, island-style, and yet so comfortable to relax in after a day of beaching, snorkeling, or hiking. Details make a difference, such as a well equipped kitchen, beach equipment At the ready, great TV and speakers, fun games collection and my favorite, a very thoughtful book and nature guide collection. We will definitely return!

10th visit to STJ and Husband and I had a first kid free get away and Salty Kisses was perfect! Great chairs, yeti cooler, comfy bed, plenty of nice towels, well appointed kitchen, great grill, and lovely decor!!!! Peaceful and perfect! Thank you Amanda!!

Great hillside stay

Excellent place for some relaxation and exploring of the island. Very good accommodations overlooking Coral Bay. The supplies are very plentiful within the kitchen and linen supplies. The cooler and beach accessories are very helpful. We used the chairs, beach towels, cooler and floaties daily. Overall, this place is great! The only drawback is that the main road down the hill does lead to a fair amount of vehicle noise at times. So it's not always peaceful and quiet. That is hard to find though on a smaller island like this.

Wish We Could Have Stayed Longer!

This was a beautiful, relaxing place to be! We loved the deck, it was the perfect place to relax after a busy day of hiking and snorkeling. The location was wonderful, away from busy Cruz Bay and close to the quieter Coral Bay. We will recommend this property to anyone we know. It was altogether a lovely place and we would stay there again!
