We met Gigi, the property manager, and she was absolutely wonderful, so helpful and friendly. The house was just as described, and the close proximity to the beach, and the easy walk to Center St. made our stay the best ever!

Perfect place

We loved our stay. It was a perfect spot for my family including our dogs. Great access to the beach and a perfect layout for the dogs. We had a great time and are definitely going to come back.

We aren't typically repeat renters at the same place (we love traveling new places and trying various spots!), but this is our exception!! Our 4th visit to this wonderful spot on 4th street and we will be back again next year. Perfect location, easy parking, dog-friendly (fenced in backyard!) and our daughter loves the "birds nest" viewing spot up top. What summer dreams are made of!

We love this property. We’ve been coming for years and it never disappoints. Cozy, charming, and comfortable with all the amenities, literally a 3 minute walk to the ocean, and pet friendly, the Love Shack is our favorite vacation spot in Folly Beach. Our golden retriever loves the fenced back yard and we love the short trip to Center Street for great food and casual, pet-friendly dining experiences. Fully stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, updated furnishings plus a great deck for listening to the ocean make this a perfect spot to rest and relax at Folly. This property combines the charm of the original 1930s beach cottage with all of the modern conveniences to assure a wonderful experience for furry friends and their humans alike. The new enclosed outdoor shower was an added bonus!
Our golden, Silas, loves the Love Shack and all the attention he got from the dog-friendly dining options.

Wonderful Property!

My husband and I came to Folly Beach for our anniversary and we had the best time! This property gave us the easiest access to the beach and the downtown Folly area; we enjoyed walking to dinner each night. We definitely fell in love with Folly after our trip and look forward to returning!

We really enjoyed our stay. The communication was excellent. The place was nice and the fenced in backyard was great for our dog. We walked to the shops and places to eat. The beach is a very short walk. We will definitely stay here again when we visit Folly.

A beautiful 2 bedroom cottage with a great ocean view with everything you could ever need at a vacation rental. If you have children it is very convenient for them to play downstairs to have there fun. Hopefully we will be able to stay again very soon

The perfect beach getaway!

We booked the cottage for the July 4th holiday and it was the perfect getaway! Gigi made the check in process so easy and enjoyable! The place was immaculate, and we had everything that we needed and more! We dined out the first night but cooked the remainder of the time and had everything we needed. The location was right at the beach access and easy to navigate. The fenced in back yard is perfect for pups, and I love how the owner has given so much special attention to making her home a place that is welcoming for four legged guests! My husband also commented on this being the most comfortable mattress he’s slept on at a VRBO (and we vacation with VRBO all the time so that’s saying something!). 10/10 stay and we will definitely be back! Thank you for a great stay and stellar hospitality!

We really enjoyed our stay. Very clean, comfortable cottage with up-to-date appliances. Easy access to the beach and downtown. Loved the screened in porch and the fenced in backyard for our dogs. Lots of parking. Being able to see and hear the ocean from the porch was definitely a highlight for us.

Our Home Away from Home

This is our absolute favorite place. We have great memories with our first love ( DOG) running in the ocean , outdoor showers and hanging in the sun either in the back or on the deck. This is my wife and i absolute favorite place. We are looking forward to making the return again.

Awesome Place!!

This vacation cottage was absolutely perfect. Had everything we needed, great location, extremely clean and tidy, everything was just perfect. Even down to the little things like ice in the freezer, USB receptacles for charging devices, dishwasher, coffee maker, shoe rack (sounds minor but just an example of this place being set up for you and ready to be a vacation home). The porches are amazing to sit and, spots with both sun and shade, just beautiful.

We loved our stay! The house is super cute and comfortable. The location is great! It’s right across the street from the beach access point and a short trip to downtown. We had a golf cart but didn’t need it. We loved having morning coffee on the porch, and the fenced yard was great for our pup. Gigi is awesome! She made sure everything was perfect and it was easy to communicate with her. We hope to go back next year.

Love this precious beach cottage so much. It's nothing fancy, but has all the charm.... we adore the crow's nest on the roof, the large front porch, the fenced, dog-friendly back yard, the laundry room available downstairs in the basement, plenty of parking, the proximity to the beach and Center Street.... I could go on and on! We will be back!

After a long career, I chose Charleston as my retirement home. What's so interesting about that is...I traveled several years in search of my perfect spot and ended up only 100 miles from home.
Charleston is multi dimensional in what it offers. I enjoy the history, culture, art, music, and academia of downtown, but cherish most the beach, boating, and bohemian attitude of our barrier islands (Folly). So, for now, I lawyer a little with my downtown firm, and spend most of my time on the beach, water, or traveling. I now have two grandchildren in the area...so my traveling is taking a second seat.

Why they chose this property

I chose Folly Beach for its relaxed atmosphere and convenience to downtown Charleston. I'm able to enjoy the beach just as I did as a teen at Folly because it has retained its identity.
