I cannot say enough good things about this place. The layout was perfect, the beds were comfortable, and the house is so clean. It’s situated close to downtown Smithville. Check out Mutts for a cold beer, Comfort Cafe for breakfast, and Hope Floats for coffee.
We decided not to bring our pets, but the fenced yard is really nice. Great decor and comfortable beds. Great old house with high ceilings and modern kitchen. Enjoyed the stay.
This house has a lot of character and charm! The fenced backyard was perfect for our dog, too. Communication with our host and check-in were both easy and efficient. Would stay again and recommend to friends and family!
The house was lovely and located close to the festival we were attending. The downside - it is located right next to a train track. The train came through several times during the night and early in the morning blowing the horn many times as it passed. I’m sure that isn’t listed since most people don’t want to hear that while on vacation. If you are a light to moderate sleeper I’d skip this stay. I slept through the train but the other housemates did not.
We enjoyed the cute, clean, and roomy cottage. Beds were so comfortable, and furnishings were perfect. The cottage is large, and bedrooms on opposite sides of the house, make for lots of personal space. Nice fenced yard, with both yard, and front porch sitting areas.
The train sound lulled me to sleep, after the whistle finished its 3 toots. We recommend the cottage.
Most everything was fine for our weekend stay. House has a nice xeriscaped front area, probably looks amazing in the spring. House was cute inside and out. Negatives: tub was dirty with some sort of grime that we had to clean so we could use. The fridge functioned but obviously there were issues with the shelving as it was held in place by duct tape. One of the arm chairs was damaged and if you were not paying attention you could get scratched by the loose upholstery staples.
The house was great. The train was right across the street but we enjoyed watching them! They don't go fast and there isn't crossing arms right by the house so the "noise" was really just a low rumble. Didn't bother us at all at night. The kitchen is well stocked. Beds are very comfortable. Lots of places to walk our dog. Good Wi-Fi connection for remote work. Host was super responsive.
