Thank you Cheryl! We loved hosting y’all. Friendly, quiet and you left the house clean. Please come back anytime.
Kind owners with a quiet and beautiful property, tucked away in the hidden gem of Smithville, TX. We were welcomed with fresh eggs and homemade cookies. We enjoyed the stay and would book again.
We stayed there while attending a friend’s wedding. The property was clean and quiet. Coffee on the patio was nice. The owners stopped by with cookies and fresh eggs. Very nice weekend….
We had an enjoyable stay at Sweet Dreams. Our two dogs loved the open space and we really enjoyed the quiet and AC of the cottage. Close to Smithville. Noel was quick to respond to any question we had. The fresh eggs were a special treat. Would definitely stay again.
Good, isolated place to get away from life for a long weekend. No frills, but had the basics, all that we needed. Could not get Dish to work correctly (could have been user error), but we took our Firestick to stream.
Property was clean and we were met by Noel. We enjoyed the fresh cookies and fresh eggs. She explained everything to us and gave us recommendations on places to eat. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. Would recommend this little house in Smithville. Noel was just a text away when we put the wrong code in and couldn’t get in, she responded immediately. She is a great host.
My husband and our 2 Australian shepherds stayed at this wonderful country home for the weekend. It had everything we needed and was very well maintained. The dogs loved the freedom to run outside. Noel left fresh eggs and fresh baked cookies! The towels were nice and soft! We hope to be able to book another weekend soon so we can explore more of the area.
The house was quiet and clean. Exactly what I needed. I had problems with the tv and DVD player but that would be my only complaint. Noel left cookies and fresh eggs for me. It was very peaceful!❤️
We had a perfect experience! It is away from it all enough and close to some cool site seeing and towns! The house was comfortable and so nice and clean, hosts were great, the eggs, tomatoes and cookies were a sweet touch! Thank you!
This is a quiet, countryside area. It is nice point to stay and visit the charming town of Smithville as well as an easy drive to Round Top antique shopping areas. I appreciated this dog friendly property with outdoor seating, peaceful yard, flowers and birds. The bedroom mattress was comfortable for me. The small kitchen had everything needed for light cooking. This was much better than staying in a motel. Thank you for the cookies and eggs!
Overall, the property met our needs and the owners were very accommodating to us, as we needed to find a place on short notice and were traveling with a cat. The house is located on a large rural property which you can walk around, and we felt very secure here.
The owners communicated quickly and were friendly and left us fresh farm eggs for our stay. Check-in and out were easy.
What could be improved is the level of cleanliness and degree to which cottage is maintained. The kitchen appliances, bathroom and bedding were all clean. However, inspecting beneath the bed and furniture, we saw a good bit of dog hair, cobwebs, spider eggs and multiple large spiders. The window sills and blinds had insects, and one of the windows did not close all the way which would allow in critters. The AC units and fans appeared to not have been dusted in some time, which we took upon ourselves to wipe down to feel more comfortable.
The lights above the bathroom in mirror did not turn on, although there was enough light in the overhead and shower.
Our biggest concern was a large scorpion we found crawling above our head, on the door sill leading into the bedroom from the kitchen. Perhaps this is par-for-the-course in a rural setting but we were not prepared for such an encounter, which gave us a sense of unease due to the previously mentioned cleanliness issues.
If these issues were addressed it would certainly make future guests feel that much more at home.
Our stay was more than we expected! The property is beautifully kept up. The home was clean and stocked with everything we would need. Noel, the owner, made some special accommodations for us to make our stay great!
A quiet spot with dark skies and room to spread out!
We came for a long weekend of hiking (with our dogs) in the nearby Buescher State Park and Bastrop State Park. It turned out to be a rainy weekend, but we got in a couple of short hikes. The house and the property are the perfect size to hang out and wait for the weather to clear, and stretch our legs between the storms.
We also had some clear nights to take advantage of the darker skies for photos of the Milky Way and the NEOWISE comet. The host lives on the property and had great suggestions for places to eat and things to do around Smithville. We will definitely be back!
