Great location just steps to the water, beautiful cabin, and fishing was abundant. We enjoyed the scenic bike trails and paddled the picturesque Manitowish River. We hope to come back next year!
This little cabin is so wonderful. It has everything you would need for a great week. Property manager checked in once we were settled and made sure we were all set for the week. Very quiet area right on the lake. The night sky was beautiful. Cant wait to visit again.
Beautiful lake view and access to unlimited fishing opportunities.
The property was well kept and the view on the lake was amazing. Fishing was a tad slow due to the weather, but fishing off the dock provided many nice panfish for the kids.
Given better weather, I know the fishing would have been good throughout the lake. The cabin was one of the cleanest places we've ever stayed at. Rob the property manager was super helpful and great to talk to whenever we had a question.
The cottage has a quality interior and is well maintained. It is actually only a few feet from the water and there is a beautiful view of the lake from inside. The host and neighbor/owner are very nice.
But the cottage is only 10-15 feet off a busy road, there is another cottage right next door (separated by shrubs), and there is a lot of boat activity in front. This made it too noisy for my taste.
I also hoped for easy lake access and beautiful swimming. But there is a 1-2 foot drop to the water's edge from the grass, and the shoreline is protected by rocks. I have some mobility issues, so it was very risky for me to enter that way. There is a nice shared dock, but I cannot get in or out of the lake from a dock. I recommend building shallow steps with a rail from the grass to the water.
Despite the risk, I did get in the lake. The water is clean, the bottom a soft sand. It starts very shallow, but gets deep enough to not feel the bottom. But I did not enjoy swimming or working out due to weeds that grew almost to the surface. However, I spent hours floating and reading and enjoying a family of ducks swimming right up to me. There's also a pair of loons.
This would be a nice property for younger, more agile renters who intend to boat or waterski.
The cabin was clear and stocked with kitchen and bathroom essentials. The property is quiet with a fabulous dock and the lake is beautiful. Definitely will be coming back.
Love staying here. Rob is super helpful if you have any issues. The time spent on the water was some of our favorite memories. Cabin is in great condition loved the new windows and remodel bathroom. The beds are way to soft. But other then that would absolutely recommend
Best spot on the lake! Immaculate, updated 2 bed 1 bath cottage in a bay of Star Lake. You can’t get much closer to the lake with this cottage and the view is incredible. Very private one neighbor on one side and woods on the other. Shallow, sand shore, easy to launch a kayak or canoe. This cottage also has a large, shared pier with the neighboring cottage next door. Great outdoor space; firepit, Genesis gas grill and picnic table with umbrella. Highly recommend this rental. Check in and communication with property manager Rob was super easy.
If you kayak or canoe, check out Lone Tree Lake right down the road, carry in only, no homes on this beautiful lake.
We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was nicely maintained, clean and had a beautiful view of Star Lake. We kayaked the lake and saw multiple bald eagles. The Vilas County paved bike trail was the best. There was some confusion finding the cottage as the fire number on the street was different than the number we were given. Overall we were very pleased.
Amazing views, great cabin, and wonderful property manager
We enjoyed our week long stay at this property. It was so quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed sitting by the water enjoying the breeze and sunshine. We saw otters, loons, bald eagles, and turkeys. Rob the property manager was very helpful and was very quick to text us back. He was very knowledgeable of the area. Can't wait to visit again!
It was a VERY well maintained and quiet location. Imagine the Boundary Waters or other near wilderness experience but with the convenience of plumbing and a kitchen. That is a fair analogy. Loons, eagles, mergansers, otters and numerous fish were daily observations.
This star lake rental is right on the water and beautiful. Very nice accommodations and the manger was super nice! The ac is just a small window air so you may want to bring some fans to push air to bedrooms. We will be back next year!
