Rustic

It is a well-equipped cottage with all comforts in a beautiful and quiet area. It is a good area for walking and cycling but it’s also close to nice sights for example Vannes and Roche-Bernard. We realy enjoyed our stay.

Everything you need for a perfect vacation.

The house was perfect for our family. Kitchen was more than equipped with everything you need. We had a perfect holiday. I wish to Thank Jilly to use for a small extra to use the electricity to load my hybrid car. The deer came each day close to the house ;-) . The surroundings are beautiful for relaxing and walks through the forest. Big supermarkets are close by. You need to take the car for your breakfast but it is close by. And yes there are insects, but you are outdoors so ...... The insect lamp has done its job very well ;-). Jill, a outdoor table would be maybe a tip for you for next time. End conclusion. Money wise you get what you pay for. A nice house with all the comfort you need to have a nice holiday. I recommend this for those who love to be away from tourist areas .

Week At Le Haut Provost - 23/07/2023

The property is nice and we appreciated it's rustic authenticity, however, it could have been left much cleaner prior to our arrival. The bathroom requires upgrading. We could not unpack toiletries due to large amount of ants. The crockery and storage shelfs in kitchen were dirty. The garden for us was sadly the worst aspect due to our two weimaraner dogs being on holiday with us. Although the garden was enclosed the full lawn had turned into hay and plants were not looking their best (due to not being watered) and left over half burnt house hold rubbish (tin cans/tin foil/coat hanger) was in the compost heap. In addition, there was a rubbish pile over the wall of the property (used coffee filters, sardine tin). We appreciate recycling is only lifted fortnightly, however, it may be a suggestion for the cleaner to remove the previous occupants yellow recycling bags prior to a new occupant arriving, as we had to look at/smell 2 large yellow bags of rubbish for the entire duration of our stay - we observed maggots in and around these bins. Finally; also in regards to rubbish management, the bins currently in the kitchen have handle gaps in the lids which means open access to flies thus increasing the number of flies in the kitchen/property. Unfortunately, although we liked the property without the afore mentioned issues being addressed and rectified we would not stay in the property again or recommend to friends. Equally so we also do not feel the price is reflective of the current standard.

We are glad that you liked the property but are saddened to hear that you were disappointed with some aspects... Usually people are very happy with the bathroom, having his & her basins and a very strong shower. It is best if guests deal with ants themselves as there may be pets and children involved and so the approach will differ. As for the kitchen, we apologise if the cleaning was not up to your standards. As far as the garden is concerned we cannot water the lawn or plants due to the water shortage – sorry, that is out of our hands. The issue with rubbish is very strange as 1: garden fires are not allowed during the summer months and 2: we cannot image the wall you describe. We take the point totally about the recycling and will investigate. We also thank you for your comment about the bins and the handle gaps and will indeed change them for next year. We do clearly say in the documentation to get in touch if there is anything unsatisfactory or not working ASAP so that it does not spoil your stay.

Un havre de paix

Nous avons passé 2 semaines au Haut Provost. Tout était fidèle à nos attentes. Calme, verdure, isolement. Merci à notre cher voisin Marcel pour nous avoir donné des fruits et pour son invitation à dîner. Nous y retournerons bientôt !

Endroit paisible

Nous avons passé un bon séjour .IL y a vraiment tt ce qu il faut dans la maison rien n est oublié ce qui est agréable. Par contre nous n avons pu à aucun moment manger dehors ce qui est vraiment dommage, car le salon est fixé au sol abrité par une vigne envahie de frelons et de guêpe. Peut être faudrait il revoir pour un salon mobile. Se doucher etait également compliqué car il ny a pas de.pression du tout et si quelqu'un utilise l eau de son côté et bien l eau n arrive plus. En dehors de cela, parfait pour se reposer . Si vous voulez être au calme vous ne trouverez pas mieux.

Un endroit très calme

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour dans cette maison qui a été l'occasion d'une belle rencontre avec Marcel le voisin reunionnais qui n'a eu de cesse de nous couvrir de fruits et légumes durant tout notre séjour. La maison est assez bien située mais nécessite de prendre la voiture pour aller vers toutes les villes et villages touristiques des alentours (minimum 15 minutes de routes). Caden est à quelques minutes et dispose de tous les commerces utiles pour le quotidien. La maison a du charme et malgré quelques petits dysfonctionnement nous n'avons pas soufferts de soucis majeur durant notre séjour. La cours est agréable, suffisamment clôturée et assez grande pour pouvoir jouer avec notre chien en toute sécurité. Je rejoint certains commentaires sur le rapport qualité prix qui me semble un peu élevé au regard des prestations de la maison mais ce n'est qu'un avis personnel 😉

Schöne Gegend

Die Betten waren statt der von der Besitzerin in einer Mail angegebenen 1.80 nur 1.50 und 1.40 breit ( das war ein ausgezogenes Schlafsofa mit Rückenlehne, so dass man übereinander hätte aussteigen müssen-für Kinder sicher ganz lustig, für Erwachsene leider überhaupt nicht). Gott sei Dank hatten wir eigenes weiteres Bettzeug dabei und haben uns selbst die Einzelbetten bezogen. Das Zimmer der Einzelbetten war nur mit einem Stoffvorhang vom Wohnzimmer getrennt. Es fehlten Ablageflächen und Schränke bzw Kleiderstangen Nur 1 Schlafzimmer hatte eine Kommode und einen Kleiderständer und war auch ansonsten in einem frischen Zustand. Das Nebenhaus mit dem Schlafsofa dient überwiegend als Abstellraum für allerlei Geräte. Im Bad in diesem Hausteil war auch Schimmel im unteren Teil der Wände. Die beste Putzfrau der Welt ist nicht in der Lage dieses Objekt in nur 2 Stunden inklusive Bettenbeziehen zu reinigen und auch mal die Gartenmöbel zu reinigen zu Beginn der Saison. Es gab nur 1 dünne Auflage für die Gartenliegen und 4 fleckige kleine Kissen für die Stühle und die Holzbänke. Für einen Preis von über 900 Euro pro Woche in der Vorsaison, hatten wir 4 mehr erwartet. Positiv ist die Lage des Hauses, der Garten und die beiden netten Nachbarn und das alles funktioniert hat ( Wasser, Elektrizität …) . Insgesamt ist das Haus für ein Elternpaar mit mehreren Kindern geeignet, denen sind sicher z. B. durchgesessene Sessel und leben aus der Reisetasche ziemlich egal.

Es tut mir leid, dass das Haus nicht nach Ihrem Geschmack war. Wir machen es aber klar, daß es sich um ein rustikales Landhaus handelt. Die Räume sind ausserordentlich individuell, aber Ablageflächen gibt es doch. Entschuldigung für das Missverständnis mit den Betten: das Bett im Hauptschlafzimmer ist zwar king aber nicht das sofabett im kleinen Haus – ich entschuldige mich. Es freut mich trotzdem, dass Ihnen sonst alles andere gefallen hat.

On a passé un très bon séjour. Le calme est très bien pour se reposer. Il faut une voiture pour faire des excursions.

rustiek huis in prachtige omgeving

heerlijke plek om tot rust te komen, te genieten van het authentieke boerenlandschap van Bretagne. Voor zee, stadjes moet je wel een stukje rijden. Huisje als een blokhut, rustiek maar alles is er .. wij komen graag terug!

Very nice house in the Brittany country side

We had a two weeks vacation in the Caden house, the accomodation is nice and well placed in the country side. The location allowed us to discover the beautiful south Brittany.

Un havre de paix situé au centre de tous les sites à visiter.

Maison de caractère chaleureuse avec un jardin et une dépendance bien agréables. Terrain bien clôturé idéal pour les animaux de compagnie. Située au centre des nombreux sites à visiter, cette location permet néanmoins de trouver la tranquillité nécessaire après vos balades.

Das Haus liegt inmitten einer schönen und ruhigen Umgebung, sehr schön für Entspannung und Urlaub

Das Haus hat für unsere Familie (9 erwachsen Personen) ausreichend Platz und wunderschöne Sitzecken im Garten. In dem liebevoll und gemütlichen Anwesen verlebten wir einen schönen 3 wöchigen Urlaub. Ein Bäcker liegt im nahegelegenen Ort. Die malerische Umgebung der Bretagne ist atemberaubend schön und hat uns zu vielen Spaziergängen und Ausflügen an Strände und wunderschöne Hafenstädte geführt.

Amoureuse de la nature, des randonnées, du sport. L'endroit a tout pour me plaire ! Voisin très sympa, champs a perte de vue. Extremement calme mais rien n'est loin pour autant ! Boulangerie, épicerie, boucherie et pharmacie a 2min en voiture. La maison est très acceuillante et bien équipée. Jardin est très beau et il est très agréable de manger sous un toit de vigne avec vue sur le champs de blé et la foret. Un lieu que je recommande vivement sauf si vous avez de très jeune enfant qui ne maitrise pas bien les escaliers car ils sont très raide ! La petite maison est super sympa aussi

Characterful property set in lovely garden

Full of character, this typical Brittany barn and its annexe have been tastefully converted to sleep 10 whilst the enclosed garden gives a family lots of privacy and space. The little hamlet of Le Haut Provost is a rural idyll and the surrounding woodland has a myriad of footpaths for children to safely explore. Forty minutes away on traffic-free country roads through some sleepy villages is the Gulf of Morbihan with its fishing ports, beautiful beaches and some superb fish restaurants. The property is ideal for a large family to enjoy the delights of this part of France. Recommended
