Great home 6 miles from Sequoia National Park

Gina was a most excellent hostess and very accommodating to our needs. She was there for us from the beginning of our stay until the end. The beds and space were very comfortable and spacious. You will lack nothing at this home. She even had a small box of necessities in the master bath in case you were in need of something like toothpaste, hand sanitizer, deodorant, etc. Personally we were not in need these items so we did not use them but still appreciated them being there. The spa was very clean and we really wanted to use it but unfortunately the days were hot and smoky due to the fires.(of course this has nothing to do with the host home) Another mentionable is the amount of wildlife here! We saw wild turkey,(as many as 20!) quail, rabbits, hummingbirds and squirrels. She also invited us to visit her horse and donkey on another property. We enjoyed feeding them a treat of carrots but not as much as they enjoyed us feeding the carrots to them I'm sure! The only thing we could not figure out was the A/C. It was always set at 77 and the requested temp while away was 78. It was quite hot outside and some of us were uncomfortable and sweaty inside. Every time we tried to adjust the air it went back to 77. I'm sure it could have been reset but I did not want to be blamed for breaking the unit so we just let it be although it was a bit uncomfortable at times. All things considered I think you would be pleased with your stay as much as we were if not more.

Hi Sherri I am sorry you had a bit of discomfort with the 77 degree temperature during your stay. We had a heatwave lasting for weeks with temperatures ranging from 104 -111 degrees. Overloaded power lines last Summer caused a massive fire up here . This Summer So California Edison sent out notices and emails for us to please help prevent that again by keeping our thermostats at 78 degrees at the lowest and setting them higher between 3-10 pm. I posted So Cal Edison's notice next to the Thermostat. I even went one degree cooler and set it at 77 degrees. Living in the remote mountains the last 30 years is a different way of life. We have power outages that last for days. If appliances fail it takes days and often weeks to get a repair person up here. So, again I am sorry that due to South California Edison's restrictions & reasons that were posted next to the thermostat, my home was only given a 4 star review.

Can’t say enough wonderful things about the home and the owner. The house was perfect and clean and very comfortable. Great location near restaurants and market and of course the sequoias! Appreciated the kindness of the owner and special touches to make us feel at home. Highly recommend!!!

Great home for our family get-away

We enjoyed the house and had a great time exploring the area from the house. It was close to the national park entrance and Mineral King Canyon with a market and a few restaurants close by. We walked the quiet neighborhood in our downtime. This was a perfect home for our family. The bedrooms and living area are spacious and the kitchen very well-equipped. The double bed in the 3rd bedroom is a bit small, but was perfect for our young teenager. One window in that room let in a lot of morning light , which didn't bother her, but if that is an issue for you, just be aware when choosing bedrooms - the other two get really dark if that's your thing. The only downside was that the hot tub was unexpectedly out of commission, but given that it was still 90+ in the evenings, that was not a problem for us. Gina was easy to work with, helpful, and quick to communicate. We'd definitely stay here again.

Lovely home

We rented the home so we could have close access to Sequoia National Park which is 6 miles away. The home was nice and clean and worked well for us. The master bedroom bed was a little too soft for us, so we moved to the second bedroom, and the bed was much more comfortable. There were rabbits in the yard to greet us every morning, so that was nice. As long as you are prepared for the Summer heat in this area, you should have a wonderful time. Once you get up onto the higher elevations inside the National Park, everything cools down nicely.

Great property

This was a really nice house in a great, quiet location in 3 rivers. Easy 15” drive to the park entrance and 3” drive to shops on the main road. Property was very clean and nicely decorated with plenty of space. The only issue to be aware of is that the master bedroom has glass sliding doors opening to a balcony, but there are no drapes or window treatments, so unless you’re planning on waking up early (which we were) There will be a lot of light flooding in early in the morning. The owner was also very responsive throughout our stay Overall we had a great experience..

Peaceful Retreat

This home was a great place to stay just outside the national park and lake Kaweah. The home is beautifully decorated, located in a very peaceful and private area and we were very pleased. The comfortable master bed, large upgraded shower and balcony off the master were nice surprises. The owner was easy to deal with and even helped extend our stay with a discount. We loved the outdoor spa and listening to nature and seeing the local wildlife. It has been a while since we saw that many stars in the night sky. We ate at the local restaurants and were not disappointed. I highly recommend this home.

I never want to leave.

This is our new favorite vacation location. The home is absolutely adorable 😍 Beautiful flooring throughout, and is decorated quite lovely. Wake up every morning to watch the sunrise over the hill and listen to the morning melodies of birds over breakfast on the patio. The view is breathtaking and you feel like you are a world away. Privacy and seclusion makes the jacuzzi even more inviting while realizing under the big open sky. Perfect for stargazing. You can relax by the fire while watching movies and enjoy the coziness of being in a home environment instead of a non-personal hotel room. Gina was wonderful to work with. She had great communication from beginning to end and really made us feel welcomed. We will definitely be staying here again soon. Thank you Gina for allowing us to stay in your home. We look forward to our next stay!
