Our home, a VRBO rental is is a great way to enjoy all the great activities of the Weminuche Wilderness and the towering Rockies, yet return to the warmth and comfort of your family gathering each evening Our home is ideal for large family gatherings with plenty of space for all including a game room in the loft, dedicated office and card/reading room. Even when dining, everyone can be in earshot of one another at adjacent tables of six persons each. For breakfast there is a bar on one of the center islands which seats eight. There is plenty of room in the huge kitchen for several people to be involved in meal preparation.
This nearly 5,000 square foot luxury home is situated at 7500 feet ASL and set amongst towering ponderosa pines with a view of Village Lake in the Pagosa Lakes region of Pagosa Springs, Colorado. It is mostly on one floor but does have a game-room loft/ 3 single beds and full bath overlooking the central gathering area.. While our home is spacious, Archuleta County restricts us to 10 people sleeping overnight in our home. Our covered back porch has a charcoal smoker grill as well as a gas grill, table and numerous chairs with the shade of many Ponderosa Pines, looking to a green belt which often has deer, fox and elk wandering past. About 100 yards away is a 166 acre open green space almost guaranteed to have elk or mule deer grazing in the cool of the evening--and offering an unsurpassed view of the towering North and East face of the Continental Divide.
The home is within a mile of popular restaurants and the largest grocery store, City Market. It is about 24 miles from Wolf Creek Pass ski area, seven miles from the deepest hot springs in the world and only a few miles from national forest trails. Fishing on Village Lake, about 300 yards from the house, is often very good. There is a three mile paved walking/jogging/bike trail which passes along the front boundary of the house. Available during the non-snow months are two Trek tandem bikes, a trail bike and a road bike for you to enjoy on this circle bike and walking trail. This bike and walking trail also connects to other parts of Pagosa Springs if you want to extend your ride or walk.
If you are vacationing but still need to keep up with your business, we have a dedicated office with a spacious desk, shredder and printer. (The printer is available to you at a small additional cost for ink and paper). We have excellent internet for streaming for your business purposes.
Our home has four bedrooms plus a huge loft with foosball and shuffle board, a TV and Ping Pong room over the garage, 3 1/2 baths, a huge kitchen/'living area with all updated appliances and a totally outfitted chef's kitchen. There is dining space for 10 at two tables close to one another and with views of Village Lake. There is also a bar which seats eight persons. You will enjoy the stone fireplace (with a 70 inch smart TV over the fireplace) in the central gathering area as well as a fireplace in the oversized master bedroom. The master bedroom also has double vanities,a jetted tub and separate large walk in shower area. It is separated from the other three bedrooms and offers privacy and quiet. The home is heated by radiant in-floor heat, and at 7500 feet above sea level, it does not generally need air conditioning. There is a FROG room (finished room over garage) with TV and ping pong, All three garage spaces are available for your vehicles. We also have a Corn-hole game available for the fenced in (split rail fence with heavy gauge wire) backyard. Our home offers wireless internet throughout, five TVs with Dish, Netflix, Amazon Prime and otters streaming channels all in a warm atmosphere designed for an extended family gathering. The sign over the door says "Friends and Family Gather Here" so if that is your goal for your next holiday time, we hope you will choose this spacious and luxurious atmosphere for gathering your family and friends together. VRBO has been our window to the world for the past 11 years as we previously we rented a three story chalet in Eaton Estates in Pagosa Springs, about 1/2 mile away from our current home. In 2018 we sold it to move to an even more luxurious home, located mostly on one level. In both homes we had many positive VRBO reviews because of our hands-on management approach. Our goal is to allow families to gather in a elegant and spacious atmosphere and have a care-free vacation. .
Why they chose this property
Situated amongst 75 towering Ponderosa Pines and looking out to a mountain lake, our home is a single level (with the exception of the loft and game room), with a great location, 1.3 miles to many of the best restaurants, City Market, Brew Pubs, Mexican, Thai Pizza and Barbecue, on acreage and very large public space for gatherings. The game room is above the garage taking the noise away from the main public area where it does not interfere with conversation or TV--or sleep! It is also sometimes used as a bedroom.
What makes this property unique
We take good care of you! You will find we are very communicative from the moment you make the reservation, during your stay and afterwards--very hands on trying to insure everything is right for your family holiday. Our home is well taken care of--we do not allow fraternity or sorority groups or college groups. Most of our renters are grandparents creating a memorable family holiday with their children and grandchildren. Our housekeeping team is the best and you will find this home very clean and well-tended. We are very reachable and will attempt to deal with any issue that might come along.
