I can't agree with the negative review here at all – quite the opposite – everything was perfect! The location, the view, the view! Simply fantastic! The complex is/was well-maintained, all the appliances in the house are new and modern! All in all: Thank you for a perfect vacation! I would love to com back and recommend the house 100%.
Best of both worlds, the beach and the pool. Was nice to be able to walk or swim to Tiny's Hurricane Hole. The house was roomy and nice, only draw back was would have been nice to have AC in the main living area and kitchen. We were able to use a fan and force air from one of the bedrooms. The house is a duplex but no one was staying on the other side and there were no neighbors close by.I would recommend this house.
From the minute we arrived at the property, it was wonderful! Cathy greeted us and was extremely kind and helpful! The home was in excellent condition and the views were breathtaking! All the amenities were well thought out and in great condition! Thank you, Cathy, for all the help!
We were very happy with our house on the beach; great swimming out front, a few minutes walk to Tiny's for dinner!
Cathy, manager, was fantastic! She always replied quickly to any questions and helped us set up dinners and understand the airport! She also had a wonderful store and we took two boat trips with Captain Charlie including snorkeling that were amazing!
If you want to get a taste of all the island has to offer, House Marlin is the perfect rental. Not only is it beautiful and well appointed, it is just a short walk from Tiny's Hurricane hole with great food and drinks! You can easily drive back and forth to the north and south parts of the Island. Kathy was extremely accommodating. We already planning our next trip or just to come down for a weekend. We LOVE Long Island!

Dated Property that turned out ot be a duplex
Cathy Darville, the hostess was fantastic. She made sure the house was clean and everything was ready for our arrival. When we got there we were surprised to see the house was a duplex. The owners of the other half were resentful of the house being rented out. Our half of the house was very dated with very old white leather sofas, an old oven and non functional microwave above the old oven. The refrigerator continuously froze everything and leaked water on the floor. The bathrooms were beyond tiny but clean with nice towels. Cathy had provided us with 2 nice chairs for the living area where we spent our time when indoors as the white old leather sofas were uncomfortable as well as leather which is hot in this climate. The outside of the duplex was full of weeds and unkempt. The neighbors yard was spotless. For what is being charged for the house the owners need to do some serious updating and cleaning up. This was not the fault of the hostess and she went above and beyond to see our trip was nice.

Happy to have you visit and I’m glad you did have a functional brand new microwave and dishwasher to use as well as a stove and fridge.
It is unfortunate that you didn’t enjoy the sofa, but nice that the chairs worked out well for you! Different strokes for different folks!
As for the yard, it’s great that you didn’t have to spend time there and rented the house and pool and not the yard as it is difficult to keep the weeds under control sometimes! In case you are worried for future guests, it was cleaned just yesterday ;)
As for the neighbors, they keep to themselves so regardless if they like someone there or not it really doesn’t matter, especially to you as the visiting guest. The house is a duplex and is described as such as I pointed out to you when we first met! No surprises there
Continue to enjoy your travels and thank you for your insights

Warning: This home should NOT be in a rental program!
Bedrooms very tight. Bathrooms very tight. Mobile home size showers with no way to keep water in the shower. In 1 bath, there’s 15 inches between the edge of the sink & shower. (Larger renters need not apply.)Upon arrival, there was no power. Water was all over the kitchen floor. No one had checked the readiness before we arrived. We found the main breaker to the home had been turned off - NOT tripped. It had been days/weeks since anyone had inspected the home. There were other problems (pictures included) - Filthy ceiling fans, kitchen counter top had built up dirt, oven was filthy, door hinges broke, microwave above the range broke, pots & pans way past their useful life, food was left on cutting boards, plates dirty, shelves rusted in fridge, gas grill filthy, over a dozen leftover spices expired pre-COVID (health hazard), couch dirty, other furniture was falling apart, shower curtains caked in mold, house wiring dangerous (multiple breakers double wired), 1990’s backup microwave failed after the second use. This is not a 9.8 rating! We cleaned the ceiling fan above dining area, kitchen counters, dishes and mopped the standing water. We felt like we were at grandpa's old place helping - not like we were on vacation. We own oceanfront VRBO's and know that THIS home is NOT ready to be in ANY rental program. There's more, but I'm limited to 1500 characters on this site.

It is unfortunate that your visit to our rural Family Island in the Bahamas did not meet your high expectations. As the property manager, I certainly try to ensure that each guest has a lovely experience and gets to enjoy not only the home but our lovely unpopulated Island as well.
The Island power surging the night before certainly wrecked havoc with this home, and I was glad the electrical company came quickly to restore your power. Our electrician has since checked the wiring, and confirmed everything is in proper working order and within code so rest assured, there is no fire or any other hazard, that's simply the result of high tension transmission lines being exposed to salt air which can break and cause massive surges across the Island, especially this time of year.
The house is an older property, with comfortable furnishings indoor and outdoor however yes there are stains and wear and tear but certainly cleaned regularly as is the house with a full changeover and bleaching after each guest. The couple that left 2 days prior had a truly fantastic time and enjoyed the home, location, pool and Island experience, however I will bring your concerns to the owners!
We loved the peacefulness of our place on the water. Watching the sailboats, sunsets were a bonus. All the comforts of home were at hand. Our host was accommodating and easily available if needed.
