We're located 10 minutes from the village of Mendocino, Big River Beach, Mendocino Woodlands and Mendocino Headlands. Located in a quiet lush setting of Redwoods, and wild Rhododendrons adjacent to Jackson State Forest.
The cottage has one bedroom and bathroom and the living area includes a full kitchen. Quiet and secluded. Located on a paved private lane away from traffic.

Cozy Cabin in the Redwoods

The cabin is in a beautiful redwood forest, yet it's only 4 miles from the town of Mendocino. It has multiple skylights and picture windows that provide amazing views of the forest and keep the place bright. It is immaculate with a well stocked kitchen and a very comfortable bed!

Excellent property in the redwoods. Nice and secluded but short jaunt into Mendocino. Very clean with all the amenities you would want. We enjoyed the fireplace on a cool rainy evening. Would stay in same place if we are in the area. Hosts were excellent in alerting us to temporary road closures due to weather.

Mendocino Cottage Review

My wife and I had a wonderful 1 week stay. This was our 5th 1 week stay here. We just love being in the redwoods and enjoying their beauty. It is so peaceful and quiet. The cottage is very comfortable and has everything you need. It's located about 5 miles from Mendocino. We highly recommend it!

The cottage and the hosts were fantastic. We wanted something deep in the trees and this was a perfect find. It was a joy to look out of any windows and see the old-growth redwoods. It feels really isolated but is close to Mendocino. The cabin is perfect for two people and came stocked with everything we needed for cooking meals.There is a wonderful patio behing the house that is perfect for relaxing, reading, or just enjoying the quiet atmosphere.The upper patio attached to the house has a barbecue and is another lovely spot for hanging out outdoors.The skylights in the roof are perfectly placed for lighting up the kitchen area as well as the sitting area in the living room. You can stare up into the trees without even having to go outside.You often don't get a really comfortable bed in many rentals but this one for us was magic. We slept like a proverbial log every night. It was great to have a place that is so cozy and be deep in the woods with the coast just a short drive away.We hope to stay there again soon.

Wonderful Cabin in the Redwoods!

We thoroughly enjoyed our ten night stay in this well-maintained and well-equipped cabin. Located in a quiet setting among beautiful redwood trees, several trailheads of the Jackson Demonstration State Forest are within walking distance. The town of Mendocino and ocean hikes are only four miles away. On many days when the marine layer covered the coast, we returned home to sit with our dog on the sunny deck. A memorable experience all around.

As peaceful and relaxing as it gets

What a great place to come "home" to after a day of cruising the coast and taking in all it has to offer. The cabin was spotless while cozy with beautiful grounds and all the amenities one could need. We only ate out once, for lunch, during our stay. The rest of our fantastic meals were made from local goods, and yes, crab, crab, and more crab! Debbie and Ron, I wish we could have talked more but the privacy was welcome too. We will be back soon!

A Treasure in the Redwoods

Private, quiet and absolutely nature at her best. Nestled in Redwoods, ferns and moss that seem untouched for centuries. Minutes away from the turquoise Pacific and town of Historic Mendocino. The best of both worlds...the Redwoods and the Pacific. The cottage was clean, cozy and comfortable. Neither the cottage nor it's owners intruded on the woods or us. The two of us have been taking short Redwood/Ocean "fixes" for 20 years and this property ranks at the top. Thank you R&D! We'd love to be invited back. J&J

Perfect rest/work solitude environment

Beautiful, well attended, fully equipped, clean cabin surrounded by redwoods, 4 miles from the intoxicating ocean. With always available but invisible host family. WIFI brought in my daily yoga classes from Boston, I cooked dinners, made progress in my work, hiked the redwoods, sat by the fire in the wood stove, spent time writing by the ocean (few feet from the waves), watched Netflix, visited gardens, in the morning walked the village with cappuccino and freshly baked pastry. There was one disappointment though - after many decades of traveling, since I was driving this time, I decided to bring my own pillow – and what do you know, the pillows in the cabin were much better than mine!!! To some, this is what heaven looks like...
