Your property
Pleasure Island is a coastal barrier island in Southeastern North Carolina, USA just south of the City of Wilmington. Pleasure Island is located within Federal Point Township, in New Hanover County. The coastal resort towns of Carolina Beach and Kure Beach, as well as the annexed communities of Wilmington Beach and Hanby Beach are located on the island. The building itself is one row away from the ocean, and one row from Carolina Beach Lake. The property is set under a block from downtown Carolina Beach with its shops, activities, and dining.
The home is in the heart of Carolina Beach and moderate walking distance to downtown and everything that is has to offer. In Carolina Beach you’ve got the boardwalk, restaurants, and local shops of all kinds. If you like adventures, the marina is also there where you can take an offshore fishing trip, diving excursion, or party boat out for a sunset sail. Camping more your thing? Bring the 4X4 and drive (and camp) on the beach at Freeman Park, located on the North End of the island.

The entry to this 2 bedroom and 2 bath suite opens into a newly furnished family room combined with an open dining area and fully equipped kitchen (stove oven, refrigerator). The kitchen is stocked will all the basic cooking and dining utensils one can expect (plates, bowls, cups, silverware, etc.).
In addition, there is a microwave, toaster, coffer maker and blender ready to help make yourself at home (while on Vacay!). 1 courtesy soap, shampoo and conditioner are left in the bathroom of each home as well as 2 rolls of TP per bath, 1 makeup wipe and one backup toothbrush. 1 roll of paper towel, a sponge, dish soap, 2 trash bags per receptacle and (*as applicable) 3 dishwasher and laundry pods will be available to use if needed!
The unit's ONE (1) QUEEN bed and TWO (2) TWIN beds consists of either a plush luxury mattress or a new encased 8” memory foam/cooling gel composition mattress because we want all of our guests to be comfortable when it comes time to recharge. 1 set of the following will be made on a per bed/per person basis to help you be comfortable on your adventure! Bed sheets (fitted/flat set), bath towels, wash cloths, cleaning rags, pillowcases, bathmats and kitchen towels. Laundering or extra sets are not an available service regrettably. Please make sure all used linens are placed in one location in the home at departure. Please let all BED LINENS remain on the beds for our TEAM to take care of! There is a 50” Smart WIFI TV (with approx. 25 channels through the Charter Spectrum cable) along with a WIFI computer connection for when it's time to sit back and enjoy some movies or shows after a long day at the beach!
The outdoor shower is located next to the pool in the rear of the building to help get that sand off of those toes!
Guest access
The SUITE: Guests have full access to their own private SUITE and private balcony.
The POOL: The pool and its amenities are privately shared by residents and guests.
PARKING: Each reservation will have access to (1) ONE assigned carport parking space (park inside and only inside your assigned carport). Be SURE to DISPLAY your parking pass to prevent an accidental tow! Parking elsewhere will likely result in a tow.
•Closest BEACH access: Periwinkle Public Beach Access (Periwinkle Lane).
Interaction with guests
I will be available for check-in and general assistance until 8PM EST. Anything with the exception of an emergency (ie. flood, fire, or another *safety* related risk sent to Maintenance) will be responded to ASAP the following day :)
Neighborhood description

The building itself is approximately one block from the nearest beach access. The property is a long walk or short drive from downtown Carolina Beach with its shops, activities and dining. Some of these examples are (but not limited to) a subtle beach hike through Carolina Beach State Park, Fishing on the Kure Beach Pier, kayaking to one of the many islands surrounding the Intracoastal Waterway, watching canons blast during a historical reenactment at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, or petting some Sting Rays at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.
This doesn’t even include the aweing scenery of Airlie Gardens, and our very own battleship (USS NC) in Wilmington! Perhaps more relaxing and less “adventure” is your speed? Our own local Brewery (Good Hops) along with a round of Frisbee golf may be what the doctor ordered!
And between the beach and Down Town Wilmington, boy do we have FOOD, Festivals, and good times!
Getting around
There isn’t anywhere or anything on our Island that isn’t accessible with foot power. Downtown Carolina Beach has several vendors such as Tony Silvagni’s Surf School @ 308 S Lake Park Blvd, Carolina Beach, NC 28428 (bicycles, paddleboards, surfboards, kayaks, chairs, and umbrellas) for rent as an alternative to walking or driving. There's Sun Fun Rentals @1204 N Lake Park Blvd Unit F Carolina Beach, NC 28428. Taxi’s (local golf cart taxi’s) and Uber’s are also generally available for an assist when needed as well throughout the island!
After all, you won’t catch many locals going OTB! (Over The Bridge). Everything you need is right here!

•The Town of Carolina Beach offers multiple public parking options to visitors and residents on a FIRST COME-FIRST SERVE basis. Town-operated parking is open year round and paid parking is enforced March 1st - October 31st from 9AM - 8PM. Parking fees restart each morning during enforcement hours for all of the Town's parking lots and on-street parking spaces.

GOLF CARTS
•To the county, golf carts are considered automobiles. Generally speaking, golf carts are NOT allowed on premises of ANY condo, condotel, or apartment. The same goes for trailers, motorcycles, etc. For SFR’s or properties supporting multiple vehicles, carts should be OK. However, be conscious that few homes have external outlets WITHOUT GFCI’S (which are code by today’s standards). Charging a cart on a GFCI will immediately trip the breaker, resulting in the inability to charge a cart amongst other repercussions. Gas carts will generally be the ideal rental option if in a home whose parking supports such.
•ALL suites are non-smoking (including vaping) and a heavy cleaning/repair charge can result if not adhered to. This includes porches, decks, balconies, and walkways.
•There is a $150 non-refundable pet fee for up to two pups. There is a two-dog maximum unless an exception is granted. Cats are not allowed on premises. If inquiring about a different pet request, please ask!
•April 1st through September 30th, dogs are allowed on the Carolina Beach during restricted hours of BEFORE 9:00 am and AFTER 5:00 pm. On the extreme North End of Carolina Beach, dogs are allowed on leash 24/7 on leash. In Kure Beach, dogs are NOT allowed at any juncture. Fort Fisher allows dogs on leash on the beach 24/7. Please be responsible to follow all town pet ordinances and have an awareness as to which beach you are on at all times!

•Any interactions between your furry son or daughter and other neighbors (animal OR human) are completely at your discretion. •Pups are NEVER allowed on any furniture. •Do NOT let your pup bark excessively in any multi-unit environment. •ALWAYS pick up after your pup IMMEDIATELY after the potty sesh.
•Please always consider TRAVEL INSURANCE from your respective booking site or vendor to help protect your costs in case of inclement weather or last-minute travel complications (court, illness, etc.). These items are NOT refundable scenarios unless the property itself is compromised.

Stay was great. Contact with the host was excellent. Everything we needed was on site. Parking was good. No major issues with other people staying in the building. The pool opened during our stay which was great. Walk to the beach was perfect! Loved the stay and the condo! Will book again and recommend both the place and Dale, he was wonderful!

Our trip was over the Memorial Holiday 2023. The property lived up to our expectations and we were pleased with our stay. It was very clean, neat and orderly when we arrived. Beds were comfortable. Due to the ungodly weather, we spent a whole lot of time in the condo reading, playing games and watching TV. Not quite how we had planned to spend our time, but Mother Nature had other plans. Definitely would return.
my main problem with this rental is the fact that they are “pet friendly” but only allow dogs. i understand not allowing cats but in that case you shouldn’t be pet friendly at all. we weren’t given basic needs like extra toilet paper, paper towels, or trash bags. i’ve also never stayed somewhere that made you bring your own sheets. the parking was awful too. i was under the impression that there were extra parking spaces for guests on a first come first serve basis but i found out that is not the case. the location was nice and it was fairly clean. there’s also a lot of extra fees you could be charged for petty things like not taking out the trash (even though they didn’t supply any trash bags). overall is was an okay stay.

Hi Kimberly! Your review is rather perplexing. Owners have the options on what type and size of pet they wish to allow in their homes. Guests need to pursue the homes that meet the needs of their party. Each and every site advertised supply was provided to you from the starter rolls of TP, garbage bags, a sponge, kitchen soap, and bathroom toiletries. All exactly as advertised. The website stated their was one assigned parking space for the unit. It states nothing about access to secondary spaces. That again, is up to a guest to search for such specifics that meet ones needs. Really by the end of your review, it seems to indicate the provided home booking site information was not read in advance. The purpose of this information is to ensure there are no surprises on arrival. There weren't. The stay was exactly as advertised. Please be more careful when researching for future stays. The integrity, or lack thereof at times in a review does matter. Your review really didn't have any helpful content for future guests, owners, or managers to utilize. We do with you luck on future adventures!
Was a great get away. Communication with Dale was quick and very helpful. Condo is in an amazing location, not directly on the beach but literally 3 minutes walk to the public beach access. Condo building has a dog "walk" area, if you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle, only a few blocks from the Freeman Park where you're able to drive on the beach. The beach was almost desolate compared to some of the northern beaches in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and New Jersey.

From beginning to end, our experience with Dale and this location were perfect. The property was perfect, we had perfect quiet, the walk to the beach was perfect and communication with Dale was perfect. We cannot thank you enough and look forward to next time!

Everything was great. The one problem we had was that the cable didn’t work and it took us time to figure out who we should contact which was the property manager and Dale was very responsive. Finally got cable after 3 days. The place is just a short walk to beach and was nice having a pool right outside too.
