We stayed in this cabin for 2.5 months while our home was repaired after extensive water damage. The host was very accommodating with our situation, extended our stay for the additional 2 week needed until our home was competed. The front poarch was a great place to sit and watch our dog in the open area to run and expend his energy. We highly recommend Happy Bottom!
We had a great stay @ this beautiful piece of property. We will be back.

It was a nice small campground. Beautiful community tiki bar with lots of amenities. A short walk to the river and you can hear the rapids from the cabin. Our family had a wonderful stay.
This was our second year in a row coming to stay at happy bottom with plans to stay again. The owners are amazing the property is always clean and so well equipped.
Great Spot. Cottage was very cozy and had everything you need. Steps away from the river. The outdoor bar and kitchen was nice. Need to go back when it is warmer to take full advantage.
Our grandchildren had a good time playing at their small putt putt golf area. Also, loved playing corn hole in the evenings. The owners were very nice and very helpful to all of us.

The deck/bar in the riverfront was awesome..The trailer we rented was ok but I do feel some of the old buildings in the area should be removed and property maintenance could use improvement

We do regular maintenance and updates on our property throughout the year. As for buildings that are around our property, we can not do anything about old buildings on properties that we dont own.
My family ( including 3 kids age 3-10) had a great time. Communication with the owner was great, the property was fantastic, close to smoke hole caverns. We also visited black waterfalls state park. The cabin was fully stocked and right on the river. Our favorite part was the outside deck. Gas and charcoal grills, music, and tvs, board games, shuffleboard, corn hole ect.
It was very peaceful. We were the only ones there. We slept late and went on adventures to Seneca Rocks, Moorefield, and Backwater Falls. We saw multiple falls and took great hikes. My husband did some fishing in the river, and we played shuffle board at the bar. It was exactly the relaxing vacation we needed.

Glad you had a relaxing vacation! Come see us again!
The trailer home was immaculate and very well appointed! The host had thought of everything to make the stay comfortable. The bar/dock by the water was so much fun! There were games, grills, tables and lounge chairs to chill. The shallow river water was perfect for kids and pup to play. The host was very responsive and even mailed us an item we had forgotten. We will definitely be back!
The place was just as it says. We enjoyed staying and the river being so close. The bar area was really nice the first night. Saturday night was a bit busy with other people using the bar area. We were going to join but to many otger people that were not staying in the other places showed up. So we just enjoyed tge porch.
We had a fabulous weekend! Our family was in town for a jackpot show. The cabin accommodated 3 teenage girls and their parents very well! 😂
The outside area by the river was FABULOUS! We had a family meal, games, music, a fire, by the river! Relaxing! Enjoyable! The hosts happened to be close by working on projects and are responsive and SUPER ACCOMMODATING! We will definitely rent again next year!

So glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to seeing you again!
Our family (including our dog) was looking for a comfortable, affordable place to stay where there was access to fishing, hiking and some local restaurants while our son was home from college for Spring Break. The Happy Bottom Cabin was all of these. We stayed in March, therefore couldn’t take full ascot all the amenities the property had to offer, but the cabin was plenty spacious and comfortable, and the outdoor game/patio area was spectacular (even in March). Petersburg doesn’t have a lot to offer this time of year in terms of restaurants, and/or shops, but we did enjoy Smokehole Caverns, Seneca Rocks, hiking trails and fly fishing nearby. Darlene and family were excellent hosts and very easy to work/communicate with. A great, quiet, comfortable (not fancy) getaway!

Not what we were expecting
Property was next to two trailers that were never mentioned in the listing. Photos of property were misleading. Small glass window was missing so the property was difficult to keep cool even with both acs on full blast. Issues with draining bathtub when showering at the property.

Michael, sorry you were not satisfied with your stay. The pictures on our listing are accurate. We do show a picture of the property and it shows other campers. In the description it is noted that we have another camper we also rent out. The other campers beside the cabin are private owned and not rented. Although, No one else was renting or present during your stay, so not sure what the inconvenience was. There is not a window missing in the cabin. The window is boxed in with wood to fit the air conditioner, since the window is an odd shape. We have had an hotter than normal week, so much that you need to keep it cool through the night so it can keep up during the day.
The property itself was not bad, my family and I fit perfectly. It did get a little hot during the day because there is only one a/c unit in the living room. Although the river was a few steps away from the property, we could not enjoy it as much because there is no privacy. The owners lives right there and there is 4 other campers rentals in the same space. The bar listed gets pretty packed so how are you supposed to use the grill or do any of the activities listed. There is also the owners dog running around all the time, trying to get into the property and if you bring a pet well you have to make sure they are by your side all the time. I guess if you are looking to relax and have some privacy this is not the place for you.

Ivelisse, sorry you were not satisfied with your stay. It is described in the listing that there are other campers on the property and other people may be there. Most people who rent socialize with each other during their stay and share the bar area. We only have the one other camper that we rent out. This was labor day weekend and our son and his fiance came to visit with their dog for 1 night. He is a black lab and very well trained. He was never far from us and listened when called. The only people there was our family for one day out of the 4 days of your stay and while we were there were open and inviting as we always are for guests to join in.
