We had an incredible stay at the Pool House! The views were beautiful, the house was comfortable, and the pool was AMAZING! The pool room and pool itself were pristine and warm (despite negative temps outside!). Also appreciated the extra safety features to access the pool since we had small children staying with us. Charles was friendly and responsive, and we would highly recommend this property!

Wonderful Week

My spouse and I had a delightful week at the pool house. The location is beautiful and private but only 20 minutes from all the amenities of Manchester. We swam every day in the pool and just totally relaxed. We look forward to returning soon.

Relax in a variety of ways

When you stay at this property you can sit around and gawk at the awesome views, go ape and swim in the ample pool, take a beautiful quiet walk, or hustle up to one of the ski areas. An awesome experience.

Wonderful!

We really enjoyed our stay at the pool house. The indoor pool room is amazing, and we had the unique experience of swimming all afternoon while watching the snow fall outside! The house is beautiful, with large yet cozy rooms and had everything that we needed. We cooked several meals in the kitchen, and there were even plastic wine glasses to take to the pool 😊 The Wi-Fi was way to connect to and strong enough for all the devices. The dining room was a favorite space, with an entire wall of glass up to a vaulted ceiling. We played board games and watched the wildlife when we weren’t swimming in the pool or watching movies in the family room. There is a nice woods and mountain view out back. Manchester was a short drive for shopping and restaurants. We contacted the host a few times with questions and he was quick to respond with helpful answers. We would absolutely stay here again.

Overall very good experience with a hiccup

Overall our stay was very enjoyable, but the house needs some maintenance and more attention to detail in the summer months. On arrival we found the property was not properly prepared for guests and the two bedroom on the second floor were blazing hot and unusable so we consolidated on the first floor. As we opened windows to cool the house (we stayed for July 4th weekend) opening windows revealed that the house had been unoccupied for quite some time, and we were forced to strip the beds and wash the linen at 10pm. We let the property owner know and they promised to address our concerns for future guests. Given the price per night, we didn’t think the cleanliness of the beds was a good value for the money.The rest of the house was well equipped, pantry was stocked with useful items and plenty of dishware/cookware. The living room was welcoming and the kids enjoyed the movies that were available.The Indoor pool is huge and even though it has some age on it, the heater worked extremely well. They provide plenty of clean towels and floaters for all ages! I do think the pool needs to be cleaned more frequently though. You come to Vermont in the summer for the outdoors, and this property does not disappoint in that regard. The property is expansive and well maintained with plenty of space. Not far from the property are great hiking trails and a river you can swim in although the master was ice cold! Views are stunning. I bet winter and fall are stunning here!

This property is absolutely gorgeous and offers breathtaking, peaceful country bliss that pictures simply cannot capture! The patio views are stunning, Charles is a wonderfully prompt and helpful host, and the house is incredibly well-stocked with every necessity you could need. It feels wonderfully secluded yet sits just 20 minutes from town. The home is charmingly older and just needs a few minutes of fresh air upon arrival to clear out the initial mustiness. Tip for future guests: Bring a backup waterproof Bluetooth speaker for the pool room, as the provided one is great but loses its charge quickly in the heat with no outlets nearby. We had an amazing stay and highly recommend it! My daughter is an extremely hard to please 12 year old, (this trip was for her mostly before school) and she even wrote a review on one of their beautiful provided post cards giving the home and stay an amazing 9.5 out of 10 for a review, that speaks volume in itself!! Every couple days she’s talked about missing Vermont and wanting to go back! We have no reason to not return if we visit Vermont again.

Great winter family getaway

This is by far the best vacation we have been on since Covid started. My husband and 2 kids and I never even left the house. It was cold, snowy and all we wanted to do was swim. We brought all the food we needed to make our dinners. Brought board games and had the best time. Super clean and cozy. We brought our own towels but they had plenty of beach towels for days. Nice touches we greatly appreciated. We loved to maple syrup and pancake mix. We look forward to coming back for another fun visit.

Love this house!

We loved this house. It's cozy yet spacious and very well-stocked. Our kids LOVED the indoor pool and swam several times per day. The owner was a pleasure to work with and answered all questions promptly. Also, the EV charger at the house saved us! Thanks for a great stay!

Indoor Pool & Close to Skiing

Communication and check in with Charles was flawless. The house is extremely well equipped. They have thought of everything. Our only issue was the inability to control the pool area temp. It was pretty cold to sit out there watching the grandkids play in the pool, which was the reason for renting this house. It improved late in the afternoon but try holding kids off until 3pm! So, renting on a typical January day in Vermont and considering the price for a house with a pool, it seems silly not to be able to let the renters control the pool area temperature just like any other room in the house. Even my husband wore his jacket to sit out there.

Thank you Rhonda for your review. We are always looking for ways to improve the property. There are challenges in heating a large indoor pool room in Vermont in the winter months; we have found that the room does heat up when the cover is off and people are swimming, although this may not be enough for everyone on the coldest days in Vermont. Another issue with heating the room is the humidity that is created when the cover is removed. We are also careful not to mix any electric fixtures or appliances in the vicinity of the pool, including heating appliances. That said, this is an issue that we plan to explore further. We stayed for 3 nights in early October and had a wonderful time. The pool was amazing (our daughters loved it!), and the house had everything we needed. Absolutely beautiful area, and lots of places to drive to that aren't too far away. Plenty of family hikes in the area as well. Wonderful! Would go again for sure.

April school vacation

I rented this home to spend some much needed family time with 4 grandchildren and a friend. We loved this property. The indoor pool is certainly a game changer traveling with kids. We only left this house twice during our stay to grab groceries. We had the best time.

Mettawee was fantastic. The property was in fantastic shape in every way—clean, well furnished, and full of thoughtful little touches that enhanced our stay. The owners really go out of their way to make it comfortable. The pool is obviously the pièce de résistance, and is what separates this from anywhere else we’ve ever stayed. Outstanding!

Great House for a nice getaway

The house is great, with a unique character. It has a lot of space and rooms, with enjoyable outdoor patio. Perfect Winter Weekend Getaway

First of all, Charles truly makes himself available when it comes to communicating with him. He is very prompt to respond right away. The house was perfect for 10 adults (and we did not utilize the basement). Once we got there we did not leave until it was Check-Out time! It was the perfect winter weekend getaway. The views are absolutely amazing! I only gave 4 stars for the location simply because the nearest grocery store was roughly 20 minutes away; however, we showed up full prepared! I would highly suggest this house and even rent it again!

Wonderful place for a weekend getaway!

This home was the perfect place for a weekend in Vermont! The house was very clean upon arrival and we used the kitchen to prepare meals all weekend. The location has gorgeous views and is just a short drive from Manchester for restaurants, grocery stores, outlets, and more. The bedrooms were very comfortable and we all felt at home for the weekend away. Would definitely return!
