Amazing location

Perfect base for exploring Chinon and the Loire Valley area. Loved the space, very functional for our family. Local markets including antiques (3rd Sunday of every month) were a bonus. Free parking is available on the hilltop parking lot (between the wine stores, behind the chateau). If the stairs are too much there’s a free elevator, walk to the mairie and take a left.

Perfect staying!

We had the most lovely week at Olivier and Elizabeth’s place. The house is very beautiful, specious and well equipped. We stayed for 8 days and had everything we needed. The location is really in the heart of Chinon, and the views of the castle from the windows were just breathtaking. Olivier and Elizabeth were very easy to get in touch with and made us feel as a really special guests. I definitely recommend their home and can’t wait to be back. Thank you very much for everything!

Fantastic location but not for everyone

Unique, rustic, unbelievable location. There are 3 bedrooms but we didn’t realise at first that lounge in the living room was a pull out sofa bed. The stairs were difficult to negotiate for a group of late middle aged adults so would not be suitable for all. Thank you for opening up your home for this amazing experience in Chinon.

Expect the unexpected with: no WiFi - no TV - no microwave - no functioning washing machine - nowhere to hang up any clothes in the top upstairs bedroom. Your stay will be an adventure

Il convient de bien lire la descrition du logement avant de le réserver : no wifi, no micro-onde et autres "no" sont bien précisés dans l'annonce. S'il y avait un problème avec le lave linge, nous et notre voisine étions là pour vous aider .

Enjoyable Visit

The pictures accurately represent each room in the house and rooms are as attractive as the pictures. Each room is on a separate floor and requires using a circular staircase. We (two 65+ couples) didn't have any issues with the stairs. The location is extremely close to everything! Parking wasn't an issue. We parked our car in a free lot next to the river, several blocks away in the center of town. There's no TV, but we didn't come here to watch TV. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this location.

Would not go back

The good; the position is very central with shops close by and the rooms are large and elegant. The bad; This is not a 3-bedroom property as advertised it is only a 2 bedroom, a pull-out couch in the living room does not make another bedroom. The stairs are extremely dangerous and children under the age of 4 should not be staying in this property at all. The balustrade is falling apart and barely holding on so be very careful. There is no Wifi, no TV, and because there is no mobile phone reception at all it makes the stay very isolated. There is no microwave, no cooling, no fans, and more importantly no free parking at the property. Parking is 600m away and parking inspectors have no mercy so watch out. The property also suffers from loud and heavy foot traffic at all hours of the night so it’s difficult to get any sleep here (maybe it was just the period of time though). The owner makes up damages so be very cautious. In all, it was “ok” for perhaps a young couple without a car, but I wouldn’t stay here again nor would I recommend it,

Avant de réserver, il aurait fallu lire l'annonce qui précise tout les détails : - un parc de stationnement public très proche, - une rue très tranquille, - pas de wifi, télévision ou micro-ondes et c'est notre choix, - des ventilateurs ont été mis à disposition. La rampe d'escalier n'est absolument pas dangereuse : c'est simplement un escalier historique. Les dommages causés sur nos biens sont en effet à payer : c'est une règle de base pour toute location.

Super séjour à Chinon, très belle ville et le logement est idéalement placé. Il ne faut juste pas avoir peur des escaliers ! Je recommande vivement.

Great location

Communication with owner and property manager was easy. Location was great. Right in town, but still quiet at night. Lots to do in the general area (zoo’s, castles, markets…). We had a great stay.

Logis de rêve au coeur de Chinon

Situation optimale au cœur du Chinon historique, idéalement placé entre Azay le rideau et Saumur, entre Richelieu (ne pas manquer le marché du vendredi) et Fontevraud ... Le logement est lui-même de grande qualité et correspond parfaitement au descriptif (et au photos) dans l'annonce. Cerise sur le gâteau, la personne chargée de l'accueil et du ménage est très réactive pour rendre service.

Great apartment in Chinon

We enjoyed our stay. The apartment was exactly as described and the beds were comfortable. My kids loved going up the stairs to their bedroom on the fourth floor. Very clean, quiet space, but right around the corner from all of the walking streets. One small note, cell service doesn’t work very well inside the apartment or the town, so don’t rely on it for your visit.

Cachet, originalité et situation parfaite

Séjour en famille avec deux enfants, nous avons naturellement trouvé nos marques dans ce logement plein de charme et de cachet. Nous avons été accueilli par Elodie qui s'occupe aussi du ménage et l'on ne peut que la féliciter, le logement est impeccable et elle est charmante. Le propriétaire a utilisé des matériaux de qualité pour rénover ce logement et communique avec nous pendant le séjour et après pour être sûr que tout se passe bien ! Suffisamment rare pour être remarqué. Bref nous avons quitté ce logement et sa vue bluffante avec regret. Petite remarque pour les personnes qui ont quelques difficultés à se déplacer, les étages sont déservis par un colimaçon très joli, mais également assez compliqué avec une grande valise. Mais c'est spécifié sur l'annonce il me semble. En conclusion logement idéal en famille pour être au cœur de Chinon et au calme.

Maison avec escalier sur trois étages

Maison très, très bien située avec une vue sur la forteresse mais que je ne conseille pas aux personnes à mobilité réduite. Au RDC : il y a la cuisine, au 1er étage : il y a le salon avec un canapé convertible et une salle d'eau avec les WC, au 2ème étage : il y a une première chambre avec une salle d'eau avec WC et au troisième : il y a une chambre avec deux lits. Juste pour information, il n'y a ni de WiFi, ni de four à micro-ondes, ni de télé et pas de barbecue comme noté sur l'annonce. La connexion est médiocre. Ma sœur qui a Red recevait dès le 1er étage et moi avec SFR, je devais aller au troisième.

Un long week-end entre patrimoine et découverte des vins de la région

Très belle maison située au coeur de la cité médiévale de Chinon. Un endroit parfait pour découvrir, à pied, le patrimoine de cette petite ville et à moins de 30mns en voiture les vins de Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil. Nous y avons passé un excellent moment.

Week end de l ascension

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette location qui est très bien située à Chinon et bien équipée (petit bémol pour la télé qui est sur l annonce mais qui n'est pas présente ). Dépaysement garanti grâce à la décoration soignée. Les lits sont faits à l arrivée et la literie est de qualité de qui est très appréciable. Je recommande vivement!
