About this property
La Maison de Campagne - Le Farat
The Country House
This lovely house has a light and airy kitchen with beautiful oak worktops and plenty of storage space, a dining area with double doors to the terrace, a separate living room, two bathrooms, one of which has a walk-in shower and twin sinks.
Upstairs there are original oak beams and exposed stone walls. The pretty cottage-style bedrooms - one double, one twin - are decorated with traditional antique furniture and comfortable beds. The landing is furnished with antique furniture and a single bed to provide extra sleeping if required. There is also a second bathroom with bath and shower.
Outside, the property has its own garden to the front and to the rear an east-facing terrace which offers stunning views of the park, the fishing lake of Farat and the French countryside.
Located
Nestled in its own valley in the fabourgs of Auvillar, Le Farat is a charming stone hamlet dating back to the 17th century with a mansion in the centre. Originally a wine estate, it is now the home of Allison and Nick who have made it a beautiful place for holidays.
Close to a quiet little road and surrounded by the countryside with no close neighbours, the gravel driveway leads you to the entrance of the master house set in a beautiful park with its own fishing pond. There is a salt water swimming pool, a fully equipped games room, bicycles and fishing rods are available for hire, everything you will need for a great stay.
Auvillar (2.5km) is a beautiful little medieval village and is home to the Tarn et Garonne tourist office. Classified as one of the most beautiful villages in France. It enjoys a beautiful view of the Garonne valley and has in its centre the only round grain market in all of Occitania! Auvillar is also an important stop on the GR65 "Santiago de Compostela" route.
This quaint little village of 1000 souls benefits from all amenities but is also close to a town for petrol, supermarkets, and a wonderful market every Tuesday morning.
