❤️ Reclaimed history! Walk to the White River & café❤️
The Historic Cotter Presbyterian Church was built in 1914 and has been an iconic part of Cotter's downtown area ever since. The stained-glass windows are all original, as is the Bell in the Bell Tower! Our space is set up with the bedrooms downstairs and the kitchen/living area upstairs in the "sanctuary". There are plenty of beds for a group or a multi-family vacation. Come and stay in the Church for an experience like no other!!
The space We wanted to preserve the history and beauty within this historic building and make it accessible to as many visitors as possible by listing it for groups or families after we finished the renovations. Come with your family & friends and enjoy a piece of history like no other! Cotter’s history was centered upon the Railroad which once included the Roundhouse and many other industries that utilized the nearby White River to service their customers. The Cotter Presbyterian Church was built in 1914 and served the town of Cotter for many years. In the early 80s the Church was renovated into office spaces that were used by a few businesses here in the town, to include the Chamber of Commerce. In 2018 a renovation to turn the Church into a residence began which brings us to 2020 where we stepped in to finish off what our friend had started. I (Jason) have some history with the Church, as I worked in one of the offices for a short time while I was in High School here in Cotter back in 1993. So when our friend approached us with the opportunity to continue the renovation on the Church, we jumped at the chance and were definitely up for the adventure!

The remodeled Church was done beautifully with great finishes, appliances and fabulous mattresses! The location was so convenient and walking to the river was quick easy and enjoyable. Plenty of room to hang out with your crowd at this VRBO! The hosts were easy to contact and readily responded!
This church turned vacation property was truly a joy to stay in. We came to town to visit extended family. Our family of 6 was unbelievably comfortable in the house and the huge upstairs was a perfect gathering spot for our family and guests to hang out in.
It was beautiful, spacious, welcoming, centrally located and exceeded all of our expectations. My kids even got to ring the church bells! We will definitely plan to stay here on future trips to Cotter!
10/10 would definitely recommend.
This has to be the most unique property that we have ever stayed in. Perfect for a large gathering. So much room to spread out in. We had such an enjoyable time and I love how the living area retained the sanctuary of the church. Even the town seems so quiet and peaceful. We were there for our son’s wedding so we didn’t have time to fish but hear the trout fishing is great. The river is definitely beautiful. The hosts were awesome!!! Quick response time and provided so many extras. Can’t express how much we loved it!!
We had 5 couples together to go fishing for 5 days. The “sanctuary” upstairs was so perfect to cook, eat, and visit. Huge dining table for 16 people. The kitchen was really nice with a great island. The stained glass windows, original ceiling, and woodwork were gorgeous. A fireplace in the corner works very well. Downstairs are 5 bedrooms ranging from pretty small to large. Two full bathrooms were easily used by making the large one for the females and the
Smaller one for the guys. Jason and Kammi responded quickly and were very nice.
Perfect location, swimming hole right down the street, close to both white and buffalo rivers, bullshoals and norfolk lakes, great little grocrey store nearby very reasonable. Only thing I thought its an old church so the upstairs was echo-y when you wear hearing aids like some of us did, its hard to hear anyone, some addl rugs may help that. But it was beautiful, beds comfy, could of used a dresser vs. living out of suitcase. Owners were wonderful, very nice. We would stay there again..
Wonderful stay in a one of a kind, beautifully renovated property
Had a wonderful stay in this beautifully renovated church - plenty of space for the 6 of us to spread out - easy walk to the river park

About the host
Hosted by Jason & Kammi Nazarenko
Jason worked inside this church when it was office spaces back in the mid-nineties while he was in high school at Cotter. It was extremely exciting to purchase and rehab the space and share it with so many others!
Why they chose this property
This is the perfect place for you and your family/friends to come and relax, enjoy the river and make lasting memories! We have many guests that have already come back multiple times and have booked a year ahead!
What makes this property unique
You are staying in a church that is over 107 years old:-) The stained glass windows were shipped in from Germany back in the early 20's and are still in tact! We hope you enjoy our space as much as we do!
