Sunbeam Sanctuary - Rose Cottage budget accommodation

A lovely private beach Crystal Bay, is nearby featuring good rock fishing swimming and diving just over the road approximately 10 mins walk.
The Sunbeam stream runs through the property featuring swimming pools
We have plenty of refreshing spring water fit for drinking
The property is set on 11 Hectares of Native bush with 100% organic gardens and an eco-friendly alternative power system. Your host is a fully qualified Natural Therapist with over 30 years experience in Therapeutic Massage and various other natural therapies which are all available on request. Organically prepared meals are available on request.
There are extra cabins and a caravan available in a separate area for hosting groups if available please ask
During Peak Summer season from 24th December until the 7th January there is a minimum booking time of 7 nights.
Please do not bring Hair Dryers or other such electrical appliences as we have Solar Power.
After the first 2 people there is a $35 per day charge for extra people staying
$20 charge for camping
Extras: Linen $25 person one off charge ( please specify if you want this or bring your own?)
NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and do the dishes before you leave;

Great property, beautiful location, Nikki couldn’t have been more helpful

We had a truly awesome weekend at Sunbeam Sanctuary - despite the slightly dodgy weather! The house felt perfectly secluded but Nikki was on hand if needed. We found it a perfect base from which to explore the whole island, but you could just as easily spend a whole weekend in Blind Bay.

Barrier Bliss

We had an amazing two week stay on the remote island of Aotea. The bach is very simple but had everything we needed - as a larger group we ended up taking a generator which came in handy as well as bringing a lot of our own home luxuries as travelling with babies too. But it has everything you need for a simple and true kiwi holiday. The house is a little smaller than the pictures show, but this wasn’t an issue for us we had such a nice time!

Magical Okupu Stay

Staying at Nikki’s Rose Cottage in Okupu was an absolute treat. The cottage was the perfect restful holiday pad for our family of 6. We loved Nikki’s gardens and exploring the beautiful stream flowing through the property. Okupu was a great location for us - easy drive to Claris, Medlands and hot springs. Kitchen was well equipped and lovely large outdoor dining area for family dinners. Nikki is so lovely and accommodating. Thank you Nikki for having us. Tanja and Tom

If you want a holiday where you feel like you’ve stepped into...

If you want a holiday where you feel like you’ve stepped into paradise, away from the distractions of towns and technology, stay at Sunbeam Sanctuary! The location is spectacular with a beautiful, safe little creek, surrounded by native bush, just steps from the door – where you can see fish, eels, glow-worms - and a delightful bay where we found crystals and explored waterfalls. Rose Cottage is very clean and comfortable and the kids loved the outdoor bath. We’ll be booking in again for sure!

We enjoyed the location in blind bay close to the wharf where there is crystal clear water, great fishing, star gazing and memorable sunsets. If you stay here book a massage - incredible!
