Amazing location, beautiful log fire and overall the accommodation was what we wanted, 1 hour from Christchurch airport with great views. Great country feel.
Beautiful, quiet, restful, lovely common areas, great kitchen for cooking. The sheep are gentle and love bread. A road out the back of the property is a great hike or run. Not so far from Mt. Hutt if skiing is on the agenda. I truly hope I am fortunate enough to return again someday.
This large house was a lovely base for long drives into the fantastic country surrounding it. Comfortable and spacious, with good privacy from the on-site hosts. Everything you could need.
Thankyou Lyn and family for a lovely stay at your beautiful farm. The house is so comfortable, warm and really well equiped. It suited our large extended family group so well and the location is idyllic. It truely felt like a home away from home
We loved the comfy beds and the log fire.
We had a great time staying at the Middle Rock High Country Farmstay. Perfect for our adventure on the course at Terrace Downs. Large rooms and had everything that we needed. Multiple bathrooms is a great feature. 5 stars, would recommend.
This was a wonderful place for eleven of our family to stay and be able to head up to Mt. Hutt to ski. The Shearers Quarters is very well set up for sleeping and communal areas. As it was really cold we spent most of our time indoors when not skiing or hiking so could not enjoy what looked to be a lovely outdoor area and garden.Although quite close to the main home we were completely private. Liz popped in to say hello on the first night to make sure all was well. She was happy to text with walking suggestions and information. All in all a wonderful spot for a family holiday. Age range 5 - 75.

What a great big property with a wood burner that kept the entire house warm.
What a great big property with a wood burner that kept the entire house warm. A wonderful isolated location with an amazing view of the night sky. Unfortunately there was zero wifi for our stay so we were in the dark about important roading info and the fact that Arthur's Pass was closed the following morning. I also needed to clean two of the toilets before we used them... which was unfortunate.
The Middle Rock Farm Stay "Lodge" is a delightful venue in a beautiful piece of serene countryside for an overnight or longer getaway. So much more luxurious than the term "shearers' quarters" implies.
The living area and the bedrooms and bathrooms make for a modern, convenient and comfortable stay. The rooms are spacious and well-heated by the efficient log burner and heat transfer system.
The beds have beautiful linen, and cosy underlays. Whilst there are no electric blankets, there were hot water bottles available for all.
Lyn was very welcoming and obliging in all communications.
The house was Magnificent! It was huge, comfortable, very well equipped and set in a beautiful location. It was very relaxing and a real treat to be in. We would very happily return. Our host, Lyn, was friendly and very easy to communicate with. Highly recommended.
We had a great stay at Lynn’s house. It was spacious and well laid out. The fireplace is a super feature and we had a beautiful fire roaring all night. It’s ideally located in a quiet patch surrounded by big trees. We went for dinner at the Terrace Resort (which is only 7 minutes away) and the food was very good. The house is fully contained in case you wish to cook.
The main bedrooms bed was comfy, which equaled a great nights sleep.
Overall - five stars ! ⭐️
....in a wonderful area. Managed to a bit of hiking in the area and it was just breathtaking. Access to areas like Castle Hill and even Arthur's Pass was a bonus. Lovely house, well appointed for our group and was nice to have a fire each night.
Really well appointed house. Loved the fireplace and large table for group dinners. Beautiful views, surrounded by mountains, and nice private location.
Great location and house. Plenty of room and good hosts. Easy to get to MtHutt approx 40 mins away and close to methven. Would definitely stay again. Thanks Lyn
