Matua is a peaceful leafy suburb of Tauranga, in the sunny Bay of Plenty. A great central location 2 minutes from the harbour front, 10 minutes from the CBD, 15 to 20 minutes to the beautiful beaches of Mount Maunganui.
Beautifully set in manicured gardens, Strathmore House is the perfect location for your family getaway. It will be a holiday to remember with resort like facilities including large swimming pool, spa pool, Astro turf tennis court, petanque court, and games room.
With three living spaces there is plenty of room for you to spread out, therefore ideal for large families or corporate groups. A fully equiped entertainers kitchen perfect for feeding the team after a busy day of enjoying what the bay has to offer, that's if you can drag the kids away in the first place!
With plenty of secure off street parking this completes the list for the perfect family vacation.
Special conditions:
This property is not a venue, however small day time events and corporate meetings may be approved subject to consultation with the owner. First preference for bookings will be given to family groups and corporate groups. Whilst we want you to enjoy your stay we ask that there is no excessive noise, parties or large gatherings. Please respect the property and neighbours. Any damages to the property must be paid for by the renter.
Please note, the property also houses a separate managers dwelling, whilst you will have full and exclusive use of the principle residence and the facilities, the managers dwelling and private garden may be occupied during your stay.

Extras: Linen (included); NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and do the dishes before you leave; Professional cleaning can be arranged on your behalf for a fee, please discuss if you would like to take up this option.

A great property in an excellent setting, close to the city and amenities.

Everyone enjoyed our stay, with Rebekah making us feel most welcome. The amenities, including the pool, spa and tennis court were a real bonus. We didn’t want to leave.

Ideal family retreat

We had THE best extended family holiday at this exquisite property! Huge house with 3 living rooms plus a playroom to spread out in. We spent 5 glorious days in our togs poolside. Having the tennis court and fully equipped kitchen were huge bonuses - plus supermarket and beautiful board walk close by. We highly recommend and will be back again!

Perfect in every way!

Being from Auckland, we used this beautiful house as our home for the week for our daughter's wedding. The house was perfect for everything we did in our week there - from entertaining family and friends to providing a beautiful space for our daughter to get ready for her big day. Great family space

The different spaces for the various family groups was great. It was quiet. The rooms were of different sizes to accommodate different pursuits. The beds were comfortable. The BBQ was good and the outside area with the pool and court were an added bonus. There were lots of games and activities for an 8-year-old too.

Wonderfull Gateaway

My family and friends (6 adults and 6 kids in total) thoroughly enjoyed staying at this beautiful property. The house had everything you would need on a break and more. Rebakah was a amazing host and ensured we were all well looked after. The outdoors was stunning. Needless to say the kids and big kids had an amazing time on the tennis court, spa and pool. There are tons of games and books to fill your time. The kitchen was stocked like I've never seen before. I would definitely book this place again and I would highly recommend this place to everyone.

Great space for the whole family

Excellent space to have all the extended family catching up with one another while also providing space for individuals to do their own thing. Games room for the kids to do their own thing was an added bonus to let the grown ups relax when not in the pool. :)

Family holiday

We loved the whole experience!! Location was excellent- so easy to everything. We went to the Mount daily sometimes twice a day!! Great cafe down the road. All the different rooms for the range of ages made life simple. Both the pool and tennis court got lots of action. This was a fantastic holiday!!

Hidden Paradise in Matua

Our family loved this place! there was plenty of space and lots to do without leaving the house. The house was fully equipped to accommodate a large group of people. Kids had the time of their lives playing with all the toys in the games room while the adults enjoyed the tennis court and pool. We will definitely be back!

The most incredible place to stay

Amazing Easter Holiday

We had the most amazing time as a family over the Easter break. Enough space for all of us to spend time together. The facilities were incredible and ensured we all had something to do but also space to chill. Couldn’t have asked for a better house for our stay. The perfect house for a family get together

The house is beautiful! Pool, tennis and spa pool kept us at the property - no reason to leave! We had everything we needed. Rebekah was lovely & always got back to me with any questions. The perfect house for 7 adults, 2 teens and 2 primary schoolers. Can't recommend enough!

Perfect summer stay

We had a wonderful time staying at this beautiful property. The house is large enough and fully equipped to accommodate several families or a large group of people. There’s always a space to break away and get some quiet time if you need it. Our children loved the games room and spent hours in the pool. Rebekah is a great host, easy to contact and very helpful. We’d love to come back one day!

Luxury stay

We stayed as a group of friends for a wedding and there was 9 of us staying. 3 couples and 3 singles. So much space, they were super great to deal with and prompt communication. We spent all morning playing tennis and swimming, the amenities are so worth it. Loved every second of our stay

Amazing property with really good facilities - Anything you could possibly need was there. Would have loved to have been able to go for a swim in the pool but the weather wasn’t on our side. Rebekah was easy to deal with and great with communication prior to our stay!

Spectacular place! Didn’t want to leave!

We totally loved it!!! Best place ever and Rebekah the property manager was lovely! Beds were super comfy with lovely linen and towels laid out for use. Kitchen had everything we needed and pantry staples. Heaps of entertaining space and tables and chairs to suit family groups. Was great to have the boys in the games room and the girls in a room while the adults got to hang out. Pool and spa was well utilised and we even got in a game of tennis. Couldn’t get the kids out of the pool. Was awesome as no complaints of “I’m bored”. TV even had Netflix and Disney for the kids when they needed to chill. Had never stayed in that area School with a playground, Ferguson park and harbour were just a stroll away. So peaceful and we were sad to leave!

There were tears when we had to leave

This was an annual family catch up for my mother's birthday, and we weren't disappointed. It's a lovely spacious home, with the most amazing facilities. We loved every minute of it... so much that our kids were ready to move in. Thanks to the owners who were so accommodating throughout our stay. We look forward to returning soon!

Amazing property, never a dull moment plenty to do to keep entertained

Had a very pleasant stay and the property was even more than what we were expecting upon arrival! We were greeted by the amazing host Rebekah who was very easy to deal with and showed us around (much needed with how big the place was!). She was also generous enough to allow us to check in earlier which made our stay that much more worthwhile. There was enough to do within the house that you didn't really need to leave to have a good time! Will definitely be recommending this property to anyway coming to Tauranga and can't wait to enjoy it again the next time we are up there 😀

Amazing Property

This place was awesome. The house is spectacular. Very spacious, tidy and comfortable. Heaps of activities for the teenagers. Only wish the weather was better. Think we caught the worst of the Tauranga winter :)

Weekend Family Getaway

We booked this stunning place for a weekend away with the kids and we had an awesome time. The house is gorgeous and comes stoked with pretty much anything you could need during your stay. The pool, spa and tennis court were a big hit with the kids. The property was very clean and well maintained and Rebekah was lovely and helpful when we checked in and out. Her communication with us leading up to our stay was also great. Thank you, we would love to book again someday :)
