Summer Salt, Family friendly in Ngunguru, Tutukaka. Spa, games room and toys

On a hill, overlooking native bush, ngunguru estuary, ocean and out to the islands beyond is this modern, well equipped family home. Set in a semi private location it has extensive decks from which to enjoy the scenery, soak up the sunshine and socialise. The property is 600m back from the waters edge, (a perfect spot for a quick dip)and within walking distance of Ngunguru shops and sports complex. Ngunguru has 2 + boat ramps and is a great spot for water skiing, kayaking and swimming.

Located on the Tutukaka coast there are many fabulous walks and beaches to explore: Matapouri, Whale Bay, Wellington bay to name a few. For surfers, Sandy bay offers the most consistent waves throughout the summer and is a great place to take a lesson.
The Poor Knight Islands offer world class diving and snorkelling, boats leave daily from the Tutukaka Marina.

We had a great time in Ngunguru over Christmas. The bach is lovely and big which allowed us to spread out. It is very kid friendly with a lot of games and toys. The spa was great fun too.

Lovely property and very well laid out. Suitable for all ages - particularly small children and the owners were very accommodating in providing a stair gate too.

Perfect Holiday

Loved this bach - the upstairs downstairs worked fantastic with teenagers loving the pool table. The view is amazing. The facilities with this house are great including the big dinning room table and comfy beds. Helen was also great to deal with. Definitely would like to stay here again. Thankyoumm

Definitely need to book again. Although it was a late booking (the night before) the awesome host was able to accommodate for me and my whanau such a beautiful home you have a nice quite get away that was definitely needed would for sure be back again more of a planned trip is on the horizon. Thank you so much for the awesome stay with stunning views need to stay longer next time 😊

Amazing area of the world, lovely home, great views and fun.

Photos don’t do this lovely home justice. We stayed here with two families. 4 kids aged between 5 - 12 and 4 adults. The spa was amazing for all, the pool table was a treat. Plenty of room and beds and places to hang out and for kids to play. The small bbq just outside the kitchen window was great. Plenty of cooking equipment etc. Whangaumu beach, Matapouri and Sandy Bay were our favourite spots. The walk from Ngunguru to Whangaumu at low tide is well worth it. Helen is a great host! Would definitely go again.

Great for kids

Host was great. Property was very well appointed, kitchen had a lot of equipment. Had a great time and the house is larger than expected. Worked very well with six kids. On small downside was the outside ground was Propry was steeper than expected and location was up a very steep driveway so for us.city dwellers it was unexpected.

A well deserved weekend getaway

Helen is very responsive to all my queries and detailed to the info that we need to know. The group including myself enjoyed our stay in the house. Kids were so happy. And it is near to the beaches. A good holiday experience for first time bach renters.

Exceeded expectations!

Everything about this bach is perfect! Full utensils and plenty of them. Extremely spacious with different hang out spaces. Toys for kids to play with. And the view...WOW!
