There is plenty of grounds for the kids to run around on and an outdoor fire pit which can be used for cooking.
Dogs are allowed but please note the section is not fenced and dogs can access the neighboring properties so will need to be tied up.
Rate is for 6 people. If you would like additional people to stay, please contact the owner and we can discuss further.
This is a true Bach and is probably not suitable for our older whanau.

Was nice quite tucked away property that gave us alot of privacy. Setup was awesome with cabin all splitnoff from each other. Definitely enjoyed our stay.
It was a very good place for us to explore Mahia from.It was very comfy for us as a family, we knew what we were getting from the info & the host guidelines.& it was perfect for what we needed.
The stay at Opoutama was excellent. It was exactly what we needed for our stay in Mahia. Would love to be able to come back in the summer to enjoy a few days. Have recommended this place to other family members
The property suited my purpose which was somewhere to stay while working in the area.
Had obviously not been used for a while as smelt a bit musty, and the cold water in the kitchen ran yellow.
Comfortable beds and great heating for the cold evening.
Has everything you need. Real beachy bach feel. Liked the main kitchen living bach. Some improvements which hopefully are helpful, Airing out the cabins, wipiing ledges and clearing cobwebs would make it just that little bit more fresh. Instructions for the washing machine, Kay was really great bbut I still couldn't get it working. Despite these we enjoyed our stay, the TV, the cards, the board games were well used.

Disappointed
We did not stay due to the state of the property. Fridge filthy. Lounge kitchen smelt and bedroom one unclean.
Owner would know we did not stay but did not contact us.

Hi Peter,
I am so sorry that you did not stay. It is a shame that you did not contact me as I had no idea. We employ a cleaner as we are not based in Mahia. If the accommodation was not up to standard then it would have been great to know at the time. If you took photo's it would be great if you could share them with me.
Our party was myself, my wife , our 2 daughters , 2grand children and 2 dogs, when viewing the property online it showed 1 room with a double bed and some bunks , it turns out the room shown is one of the ones with a bathroom , this was not the case when we arrived, the bunks had been moved out to the “ garage” room which has no bathroom . The bunks were not in the same room as the double bed, We intended to have our daughter and her 2 children sleep in the room shown, sadly we had to put them in the garage so they could be together, ( well almost) not ideal with no toilet . The property is advertised as pet friendly which it is but not fenced , one of our dogs wandered next door (did no harm ) but we faced an angry lady next door who in her words “ was sick of having dogs next door as her cat was terrified and had taken off” . Again not ideal as we had only been there about an hour , needless to say we were on dog alert for the rest of our stay. The kitchen is a bit tired , the fire extinguisher looks like it was last tested in 2008 ? The garage room has no smoke detector. On the good side the location was good, the section was a good size for the kids to play and the nearby beach was excellent , the weather was kind and we managed to see a rocket launch
We had a fabulous stay with fabulous weather, a lovely beach which we had to ourselves most of the time. Just be aware that the property is not fully fence for dogs as they can get underneath in parts and the new our didn’t appreciate our dog visiting her chickens. She did share some fresh beans out of her garden with us so was ok.
