Parking was ample! Such a cute place tucked in the woods so we could stand to be outside in the heat! Getting in and out was easy. And of course Wakefield fireworks do NOT disappoint!!!!

Sandra’s place was extremely comfortable all around and very accommodating for our fur baby Doodle that made his first trip to the UP with us. Parking a trailer for the snowmobile was a breeze and connecting to the trail system was super easy. Highly recommend and will definitely be staying there again!

Fabulous UP Get Away!

We had a wonderful time at the Charming Hilltop Cottage! The attention to detail was greatly appreciated and enjoyed...from the fully stocked kitchen to the treats and beds set out for our pups! The front sun room is comfortable and lovely, as is the large living room area. The location is also a plus; conveniently located near Sunday Lake, Presque Isle, and multiple hiking trails. A truly glorious get away!

Comfy cozy inviting cottage that had everything we needed. The extra’s for our fur buddy were delightful. All the amenities and then some! A well thought out place to welcome guests. Clean, neat, and a warm environment to relax and enjoy. Sandra was super helpful and quick to respond when needed. We enjoyed the sleeping porch and backyard especially.

Cozy cabin

The cabin was perfect for us! The owner made it cozy and welcoming for us and our dog, Bo. He loved relaxing in front of the fire :). Very close to attractions and restaurants in the area: Club 28, Iron Nugget, Cold Iron Brewing, Roger Randall Bakery, Root Beer Waterfall, Potawatomi Waterfall and Snow River Resort are things we checked out :) When we come back up, we will definitely see if this place is available.

What a lovely property in a great location! It was the perfect size for our group of 4 adults, a teen and a tween. This is an older home with a bit of “charm” however, it is obvious that the host is making updates and improvements to the home. It is very clean and well stocked. The new deck is a lovely spot to relax with morning coffee. The kitchen was clean, organized and well stocked. We easily found everything we needed to cook our breakfasts and dinners (we were out during lunch). Extra blankets were readily available, too. Our favorite spot was the fire pit area! What a fun place to hang out! A big thank you to the hosts for making sure we knew to check the fire rating for the area before building a fire. (This isn’t a concern where we live and may not have thought of it ourselves.) Unfortunately there was a ban in place during part of our stay but it was lifted after a brief storm so we were able to enjoy a fire on our last evening. We appreciated the stairs up to this area… such a small thing but really helpful for those with mobility issues. The host was very helpful and provided suggestions of places we might like to visit, plus grocery store and restaurants, too. The Facebook page is fun to check out. I saw a family of deer (see pics) walk right across the driveway as I was heading out one morning and they decided to hang out on the front lawn. How fun!We had a very pleasant stay and would definitely book again if we decide to visit the area in the future.

What a wonderful review to read! I am delighted to hear the cottage was the perfect fit for your group and that you enjoyed the new deck and the fire pit! It means a lot that you noticed the continued efforts for improvements to the historic home, as I am committed to improving the property each year. Seeing the deer family sounds like the perfect bonus to your stay, how fun!
