Welcome to Ixtapa and our little slice of paradise! The Amara is a privately owned luxury beachfront condominium resort. This luxury 2200 sq .ft. unit provides amazing views and spectacular sunsets, while the calming sound of the ocean waves will sooth you to sleep every night.

The Amara has the best location on the beach, and is just a few steps away from great restaurants, shopping, local markets, grocery stores, movie theatre, and the unique Ixtapa nightlife! The Amara is just 10 minutes away by cab from Zihuatanejo, and only 20 minutes from the airport. No need to rent a car as everything is easily accessible by foot or by a short taxi ride.

Our unit is located on the 10th floor, is one of only 90 within this quiet, gated complex, with 24 hour security. Being on the 10th floor offers spectacular 180 degree views of the ocean and coastline, with mountain and golf course views out the back.

Tastefully decorated, our unit is finished with the highest quality materials. The main living/dining room area has floor to ceiling glass doors that slide open on to your private balcony. The living room has a 55' LED TV, DVD player, Xbox gaming system, Apple TV with Netflix and our personal WiFi for your enjoyment. The balcony has a patio table for 4 and a comfy seating area with a couch, two swivel chairs and table. the perfect area to enjoy the sunsets or drink your morning coffee.

The three master bedrooms (two on the ocean side - bedroom 1 & 2 and one on the mountainside - bedroom 3) all have king size beds and attached ensuites. Bedroom 4 on the mountainside is uniqually equipped with a queen bed, a twin bed and a second lofted twin bed - perfect for the children. Both mountainside bedrooms are outfitted with dual pane windows to reduce the evening noise to ensure you have a comfortable undisturbed sleep. Bedroom #5 is located off of the kitchen and is equipped with a queen size bed and has an attached half bath. Each bedroom has it's own private bathroom and all have control of their own air conditioning unit. The owners master bedroom has a 55" LCD TV with DVD and Apple TV with Netflix. The second ocean side bedroom has a 50" LCD TV and DVD with Netflix and apple TV. In total, the unit can sleep 12 comfortably. All towels and linens are provided, and daily maid service is available on request. A child's playpen and high chair are also available.

Your kitchen is fully equipped with first class stainless steel appliances - gas oven/range, dishwasher, and double refrigerator w/ filtered water and ice. Additional appliances include: microwave oven, coffee maker, toaster, blender, as well as all the utensils, plates, pots, pans, etc... needed to satisfy the cook in your party. Or just walk across the street to any of the many excellent local restaurants available for your dining pleasure.

The beautifully landscaped grounds include three pools - one huge pool with beach style entry for families, another infinity pool for adults only, and a small wading pool for kids. Guests can enjoy very reasonably priced drinks and snacks at the palapa bar. Walk down just a few steps and through the private gate out to one of the most beautiful beaches you will every see, where private palapas and lounge chairs await you for a relaxing day on the beach.

A personal chef and daily maid service can be arranged when you arrive on site for an additional charge.

Other amenities include: paddle ball courts, fitness facility and private parking stalls. Free Wi-Fi wireless internet service is provided throughout the property.

Amazing views, wonderful condo

The view from the first step into the condo literally wowed us upon entry. The condo was perfectly sized for our party of 9, we even had one room go unused since all the little kids decided to bunk together. Check in was easy, Claudia met us as we pulled in & showed us the condo & explained how to use all the fans/AC/electronic window shades. The condo had everything we needed to enjoy a week of relaxing by the pool/beach. Definitely will return!

We are very Grateful for the experience we had at this very fine well equipped Condo!! The pools were quiet and the people were so sweet to us. The sunsets were breathtaking. The beaches are one of the best we have seen in Mexico and we have seen many. Easy access to groceries. Condo has main necessities which is so nice. Close to great eating resteraunts and shopping. Amazing Family Vacation!

We had the pleasure of staying at Casa Nova for a week with our 2 sons and their families. The first day we arrived, Eddy, one of the security guards, had some baby sea turtles the grandkids were able to help release. What an awesome experience for them! The casa had plenty of room for our family of 9. The kids had plenty of room to play. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds were all very comfie, and the views were breathtaking! A bonus were all the beach toys and pool toys that were there for our use. Jason, the owner was super easy to contact and answered any and all of my millions of questions right away. Claudia, the property manager was also available whenever we needed anything, If you are looking for a great place for a family vacation, I highly recommend Casa Nova. Thanks for sharing your piece of paradise with us. We will cherish the memories😎👍🏼!

Stunning view!!!

What you see is what you get! The view is breathtaking! We had 3 couples in our group and we had plenty of personal space. Having a bathroom with each bedroom was perfect. Very clean and comfortable. The property manager was very helpful and responded quickly when contacted. Having access to little shops, restaurants and bars in walking distance was key. Tasty food and great atmosphere where ever we went. I would recommend this property to friends and family members. The owner also checked in on us to make sure everything was going well which was a nice touch. Shows he truly cares about his property and how we were being treated. We would recommend the Blue Shrimp for their Mojitos and melted cheese with Chorizo....Yum!! Also recommend reserving to have a cook come into your condo and cook meals. That was delicious!! We hope to be back to visit in the future! Thanks again for having us!

Beautiful Property (Christmas 2017)

We had a wonderful time in Ixtapa! The weather was great and the condo was superb. The location of your condo is great, close to all the restaurants and in the middle of the beach. (we walked the beach everyday) The waves didn’t seem as big in front of the Amara as some of the other hotels and the sand beach was much wider. There were 9 of us and we had lots of room, the beds were comfortable and it was great having all the bathrooms. We didn’t do much cooking but was great having a dishwasher for the numerous glasses we used and the fridge to keep the beer cold! The washer and dryer were a bonus especially after the quad tour. Everyone had such fun on that trip but were fairly dirty. (their tans washed off) We spent a lot of time on the deck in the evening when the sun went down, it was great having the comfy couch and chairs  Thank you so much from all of us for sharing your condo with us! Fantastic Place to Stay!

We stayed as Casa Nova this time for our yearly trip to Ixtapa. We had 4 Adults and 2 Kids (12,7) and were there for 7 days. As usual, the Amara Condos were fantastic. The grounds, pool, palapa bar were all kept exceptionally well. As for Jason's Condo, it was fantastic. We had plenty of room and had every necessity we could need. It was super clean and tidy. He had everything ready for us upon arrival. There was even some cold beers in the fridge! My boys were sooo excited he had an xbox in the living room. It kept them busy during the evenings after all of the swimming they did. The adults would sit on the patio at night and play cards and listen to the ocean. Overall we had an amazing stay. The beds were soooo comfy! Everyone in our party slept like babies every night. It is really nice to have Jason's Condo have 3 king Suites so you can travel with larger parties and everyone has a king bed and there own bathroom. We will definitely be back again and hope to stay at Casa Nova again. It is really easy working with Jason on the booking. He even checks in often to make sure you are truly enjoying yourselves. If anyone is hesitant about going to Ixtapa and staying at Casa Nova, don't be. Its worth every penny. Thanks Jason for the great stay!

Paradise at Amara

This is our second time staying at Amara in this condo. The unit itself is amazing. As soon as you walk in the glass wall from floor to ceiling takes your breath away. The view of the ocean is spectacular! The deck is large and comfortable with a table for 4 to eat and 2 rocking/lounge chairs, a couch and a table. We spent a lot of time on the deck in the morning and again at night. The bedrooms are large and the beds are sooooooo comfortable! I like the mattress in this unit better than my mattress at home! The bathrooms are beautiful and nice sized for a family. We are a family of 4 and only used 3 of the bedrooms and bathrooms. We bought groceries and cooked all of our breakfasts and lunches and then went out to dinner every night. The location is second to none! We could walk everywhere! The pool and beach is beautiful! Many times during our stay we were the only ones in the pool! Jason has a closet full of pool floats, boogie boards and comfy cushions for the beach or pool chairs. The kitchen is well stocked. I can't think of a single thing that is needed for a small or large group! The washer and dryer was used every night for the beach towels. It was so nice to throw in a couple of loads of clothing the morning before our departure! We hope to be back a third time next year to experience all that Ixtapa has to offer! Don't hesitate to book this unit! It is lovely in every way! Thanks so much Jason for checking on us several times to make sure everything was in order!! You are wonderful to work with! Until next year...

Vacation with extended family

We had a wonderful time in Ixtapa at Casa Nova. It was very close walking distance to the downtown area for shopping, restaurants, and the nightlife! The beach was beautiful and very clean. With lots of fun water sport activities for purchase within a very short distance from the condo. The pool was well maintained and the palapa bar staff we very friendly. The constant appearance of security left you feeling very well looked after as well. We found the Air conditioning units in all the rooms to be quite efficient and very quiet. The room decor was very cute and beachy. We would definitely return for another visit!

An amazing place!

Jason's place is just fantastic. The apartment has everything for a very comfortable stay. Very nicely decorated, fully functional kitchen, rooms with airconditioning, great balcony to chill and watch the sunset while enjoying a drink and the view is just amazing. The pools of the complex are beautiful (three in total), and the staff that works in the pool area is outstanding. We hired a cooker that prepared very delicious meals during our stay. I have stayed here twice, and without a doubt, this is one of the best places to stay in Ixtapa. Jason, thank you for opening your beautiful apartment for my family. You have a fantastic place.

Great place to stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Amara. Jason was great to work with and responded quickly to our inquiries. He gave us a lot of information about the condo and local area. The condo was very clean and very comfortable. It had everything you needed for our stay. This was our 5th time to stay at the Amara and have never been disappointed. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. It is a very secure building and we always feel safe when there and out shopping and eating at all the wonderful restaurants. We enjoyed just relaxing on the beach and enjoyed the beautiful sunsets. Can't wait to get back to Ixtapa!

The best condo on the best beach’

Our family including four grandchildren loved every part of the Amara and particularly Jason’s condo. It is fully equipped right down to boogie boards & snorkel equipment. We were blown away by the full wall of patio doors (18’ approx) which open fully - we had them open from morning til night enjoying the sounds of the ocean as well as the ocean breezes and spectacular views. With the front door open the cross ventilation was so perfect we didn’t even turn on the AC in the main living area -in spite of it being 31c every day for the 12 days we were there - with only two units on our floor both units left their front door open with no worries. The balcony was an extension of the spacious living room. The kitchen appliances are top notch as well as the en-suite washer/dryer. We used Jason’s very detailed rental information booklet - Mario the taxi driver was fabulous taking us into Zihua for shopping , restaurant at Playa la Ropa and the airport and also hooking us up with an ocean cruiser for fishing & snorkeling. If you enjoy cooking do go to the Mercado Central in Zihua - the produce, seafood & meats were so fresh & reasonably priced - for a mini Costco type store -MEGA Soriana where you can buy pop & snacks as well as full array of anything else. The Playa Palmar beach is one of the best we have been on in Mexico - beautifully clean, gorgeous sand & it’s over two km long - perfect for early morning walks The vendors on the beach were few & not bothersome. We loved walking a few blocks away for gelato after dinner. Lots of good restaurants & fun shopping. One of the best holidays we’ve had & we all felt perfectly safe. Highly recommend this condo!

Impressive, comfortable with spectacular views

This was our first VRBO stay of any kind. The Amara is an incredible property with stunning views, proximity to restaurants and great amenities. The condo was clean, comfortably furnished and had everything we needed (including a washer and dryer!). I’m my opinion, one of the perks of being on vacation is being served...drinks by the pool, beds made daily, etc. If you’re willing to forego that perk, The Amara in Ixtapa is one of the best properties we’ve stayed at in Mexico. I should mention that cooking and cleaning service (including laundry) is available for a separate fee. Jason (owner) was a delight to work with and even checked in with us while we were there to make sure everything was going well. We visited during Holy Week and the beach was busy at times and the condo enforced the 2 chairs per condo rule. We were traveling as a group of 5, but could have easily fit 10 in the condo...something to consider if you are traveling with a large group and would expect lounge chairs for everyone in your group.

Very nice condo with an amazing view!

I would highly recommend the Casa Nova property and would stay again. You can't go wrong with the location and the amazing view! Jason was great to work with and provided a lot of information/recommendations on things to do and where to go in the area. The local staff, Helena and Claudia, were very helpful while in MX. Mario was a great cab driver and hooked us up with a fishing boat and we hired him to give us a 3-hour tour of the city. The accommodations were very nice and representative of the pictures provided. The only exception to picture representation would be the bedroom off the kitchen. The washer and dryer are located in this room, there is no view, and the bathroom is extremely small. Still a workable bedroom, it's not like you spend a lot of waking hours in there with the incredible view off the balcony! The location was ideal for shopping, eating, and walking the beach. You can catch a cab right outside the premises or a bus across the street. The only complaint would be about the pool rules and bar. You could only be in the pool with a drink on one edge of the pool. There was a security guard making sure you didn't go too far from that one edge of the pool with your drink. Our group of 10 were primarily beer drinkers and the bar ran out of beer daily (sometimes multiple times a day). I think they went across the street to buy more because it was usually on the warm side when the came back to restock.

Great Stay!

We just returned from a 7 day vacation at Casa Nova. The condo was perfect for the 2 families of all ages that used it. Everything you could need was there. We ate out most meals but it was nice to have the kitchen for snacks or a light breakfast. The beds were super comfortable which is not that common in Mexico. The pool and the grounds were immaculate. The property had an interesting mix of owners, long-term and short-term renters. The people of Ixtapa / Zhua were as charming and gracious as always. Restaurants and shops were nice and busy. We did not hear noise from across the street, only distant noise from the hotels next door when they were having their fiestas and it was over shortly after 10pm and not bothersome at all. We will definitely return to Casa Nova, hopefully for longer than 7 days next time. Jason was great to work with.

We spent a week at this amazing condo with our family from Canada and had family from Mexico City for a few days. We were all so impressed with the condo, the building, the grounds, the pool and the staff. We are frequent renters, actually came to Amara after three weeks at another condo on the beach. We needed more room for family and Amara was above expectations. Jason is an amazing owner to deal with and equips the condo as if it were his home. Nothing needed that can't be found in the condo. The beds were so comfortable and everyone agreed on that fact. The clubs across the street were not a noise concern. Our one year old grand daughter loved the pools, she slept on lounges poolside for naps. The pool is so relaxing and beautiful. We will return to Amara but only to Jason's.

Great condo at the Amara-lots of extras

If you already reading reviews you probably already know the Amara generally is a great place to stay. Great location on the main beach, beautiful grounds and pool, peaceful and well appointed condos. I've stayed in a few different condos there depending on what was available for my dates of travel. So why should you stay in this one? Jason is a great owner to work with--everything is simple and easy to book and he has a great packet of info if you've never been to Ixtapa. The condo itself is nicely furnished and has lots of extras over other condos at the Amara. Keyless entry--which may not seem like a big deal but if you are traveling with kids (who are old enough to up to go to the condo themselves) or other couples its nice to not have to deal with keys, separate wifi for the condo, fully stocked kitchen (not only pots and pans but spices, condiments etc.) and access to the owners closet with pool toys, beach toys (noodles, floats, sand toys, boogie boards, snorkel gear, cushions) so you can pack light. He's also got lots of electronics (ipod docking station/speaker in the main room, tvs in the main room and main bedrooms--and lots of cords--if you happen to forget one he's probably got one). If you really want a condo that has everything you can think of (and probably things you haven't), this is the one!

Why they chose this property

We chose Ixtapa for the weather (a very consistant 30+ degrees year round!) and we chose Amara because of the individual unit sizes and its location in Ixtapa. You can't beat Amara's location - directly off the main area of downtown Ixtapa and in the middle of Ixtapa beach.

What makes this property unique

We travel with our 3 children and we have found it very difficult to find accomodations that suit our lifestyle and provide us with enough individual space to truly relax. We like the comforts of home and what better way to have them when you travel then to have your own place. We have outfitted our unit with many upgrades and with only the finest furniture and beds for our casa. We like the conveniences that TV and WiFi bring to our vacation and I love to send my business associates views from my 'office' when i'm working remotely from the balcony in Ixtapa!
