From the owner: “We're thrilled to learn that you enjoyed your stay and felt comfortable during your visit. We're grateful that The Little Red Camp could provide the necessary accommodations, including the spacious dock for your two boats and overflow parking for your trailers and additional vehicles.”
The Little Red Camp was a fun place to stay! We enjoyed the view from the living room area, the second floor deck, and the easy access to the area. Being in Rockwood during the off season was a bit tricky. Not much was open. But the Greenville restaurants were very good and we had a nice time exploring and relaxing. The host answered all our questions quickly and the property was very well maintained.
The cabin was beautiful and the hosts were very responsive to any message we sent. Just know when staying there you cannot snowmobile from the cabin as its on the river and the driveway is a little tight if you have a full size pick up.

From the owner: "Hi Candice, we’re glad you enjoyed the beautiful cabin and appreciated our responsiveness. Thank you for your thoughtful review. While the snowmobiling access trails aren’t directly on the property, they're easily accessible across the road, about 50 to 100 feet toward the bridge. As you noted, this is due to the camp's location on the river side of the road. In response to your feedback about parking, we widened the parking area on the lawn to make unloading snowmobiles easier. Please note that while the property can accommodate two trucks with trailers, the space is limited, with only 14 feet of clearance from the white line on the side of the road. Additionally, we offer overflow parking in a 50x50 lot for guests needing extra space or who prefer parking off the road. Thanks for being outstanding guests, we look forward to hosting you again in the future!"
We had a very relaxing and comfortable stay! It was just what we needed for a getaway! The bathrooms and bedding have high quality materials. Lots of windows and sunshine. All items that I needed to use in the kitchen were there. Very welcoming, clean and neat. The owners are very responsive and aim to please. Loved it!

You are truly remarkable guests. We have taken every effort to enhance the rental experience by incorporating a wealth of amenities. Our kitchen is exceptionally well-equipped, thanks to the brilliant suggestions from our former guests. We have changed linens, towels, soaps a few times since we started to get the perfect combination for all guests. I am always delighted to assist. We look forward to welcoming you back.
The host was absolutely amazing. I feel like they thought of everything from utensils needed to cook to outdoor entertainment. Everything was there. The communication of the host from before I was even at the property was huge as it was my first time coming to Maine. I got a lot of pointers this place is a gem I give it 10 stars if I could and I will be back here year after year to enjoy the little red cabin

You are truly remarkable guests. We have taken every effort to enhance the rental experience by incorporating a wealth of amenities. Our kitchen is exceptionally well-equipped, thanks to the brilliant suggestions from our former guests. I am always enthusiastic about providing insider knowledge on local attractions to our guests. As the owner of this rental, I have gained a profound understanding of the area's hidden gems. Although I have been visiting the area since childhood, my recent discoveries have far surpassed my lifetime of experiences. I am always delighted to assist. We look forward to welcoming you back.
My family and I had a wonderful weekend at the Little Red Cabin. It was clean, and very comfortable. The views were spectacular, lots of ducks (mallards, buffleheads, common mergansers) and geese to watch just out side the windows. The only thing missing was a place to put our clothes in the upstairs rooms. Maybe some shelves, or hooks. Perhaps some hooks in the upstairs bathroom to hang towels.

From the Owner: "We are pleased to hear that you had a wonderful experience. We also appreciate your insightful feedback on areas for enhancement. We understand that what works for us might not work for everyone, and we have received similar feedback from other guests. We are actively working on concepts for adding storage solutions, such as shelves or dressers, that will also simplify cleaning during changeovers. We are considering the introduction of open-style shelves and hangers, as well as a hidden luggage holder, similar to those used in hotels that can tuck away. If you have any ideas, please message us. These suggestions are what will help turn The Little Red Camp into a top-rated rental. Thank you again."

Little Red Camp Review
Our stay at this property was excellent! It is such a nice place. It is very neat and clean and well taken care of. We stayed there with a group of 5 and there was plenty of space for everybody. The property is in a beautiful location right on Moose River with a perfect view from the 2nd floor deck. The windows on the first floor are big and also allow for a really nice view of the river as you sit on the couch. Further, the picnic bench on the dock was a really nice and relaxing touch. The owners were helpful and communicative. They provided very clear instructions which were easy to follow. There was a helpful binder with things to do and places to see in the area.

Fantastic
We love The Little Red Camp! It’s very clean, comfortable with lots of room.We enjoyed our stay so much. The beds are so comfortable, kitchen was well equipped and I loved the concrete countertops. Bathrooms were very spacious and clean. Decorated very cool. Even though it’s on the main road we did not notice the noise from the road. My husband and nephew did lots of fishing ( even saw a moose swimming in the lake). I guess that’s why it’s called Moosehead Lake, while I stayed back at camp and made beef stew, Mac & cheese and whoppie pies. Our dog Captain enjoyed the outside and lets us know when the deer were right across the road. We will definitely try to make it back to The Little Red Camp.
Response from VrboOwner on 8 Mar 2026
I'm so happy you got to see the moose and deer. Thank you for pointing out how quiet it is in the camp. We were going to use spray foam, but at the last minute, a local pointed out that foam doesn't block sounds as well as rock wool, so we changed it, and it makes it so quiet and peaceful. We also don't have any windows on the road side, so all your attention is on the amazing views. When we built the place, a lot of thought was put into everything to make it a unique place. We look forward to your return and your fur baby, Captain, as well.
Cozy, comfy, and has everything plus more than you need. The home is beautiful- all new, the beds were CRAZY comfortable, nice linens/blankets/towels. Any place you think “I need a hook” or “I need a shelf”- it’s THERE! Super clean well appointed kitchen and the view from the whole place out every window is spectacular. The upper deck is gorgeous and worked out well for our doggie and morning coffee! Sitting on a bend in the river with a short boat ride to Moosehead- Moose River was super clear and clean. The dock system is top notch with a sweet picnic table on the end. Easy docking our boat, plenty of space for the trailer and ATV too! Communication was wonderful! We are excited to make this a family tradition. You can tell the owners aim to please and poured a lot of love and thought into the wonderful little home

We're delighted you observed the thoughtful touches. Our goal is to provide something for everyone, making their stay as comfortable as possible. The original camp came equipped with an abundance of clothes hooks; we handpicked the most stylish ones to place throughout the camp, and an additional 40 hooks are stored away. We find it kinda funny. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the beds. We deliberately selected various styles to cater to different mattress preferences, enabling guests to switch rooms for optimal comfort. We're also pleased you noticed the dock. While we don't own a boat, as we had to choose between a camp or a boat and chose the camp, we prioritized investing in a superior dock with help from Hammond Lumber, recognizing its longevity, and rent boats when we stay. You are outstanding guests, and we appreciate your choice of The Little Red Camp. Thank you for the wonderful review it really captured so much and it made my entire family happy.
