My first comment would be buyer beware. VRBO does not want me to discuss fees. I will just say that the homeowner is not transparent about fees. I expect transparency and honesty of costs when booking. I tried to contact VRBO, but was not successful and we had planned our trip at the last minute. This practice is dishonest to me and it was upsetting to be taken advantage of. The pictures of this apartment are misleading as far as size. I think it is suitable for 2 people. There is no stove top or oven, the kitchen sink is small and the mini refrigerator has no ice trays. Zoe says that there is free parking in her driveway, but the driveway is designed for a single vehicle. We parked down the street. The view of the bay was beautiful. The bathroom was clean and the shower was good. This is a basement apartment and the dehumidifier has to be emptied regularly.

Good location.

Zoe was a kind and generous host. Communication was great! The accommodation was comfortable and as described. Great view of Bedford basin, a little noisy if sitting outside but quiet inside.We would recommend this rental.

This property is exactly as posted. Location was perfect. The view was amazing. The host provided me with all the information I needed, direction to property, the code to get in. Gave us detailed information on accessing the property. We did not have any issues but she made sure to be available to us by reaching out to us on the day of arrival to make sure we received everything. This property was clean and well taken care of,

Stunning View and Exceptional Hospitality

We had a wonderful stay! The view is absolutely amazing—right in front of the Bedford Basin. The home is located in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood, just 10 minutes from downtown Halifax, with easy access to everything we needed. The place was spotless and very well maintained. Our host was thoughtful and incredibly responsive, always making sure we were comfortable. When the weather changed and it started raining, she even brought us umbrellas—such a kind gesture. As a bonus, we even saw a deer peacefully grazing nearby! We truly felt at home and would love to stay here again.

Things I loved about it: super comfortable mattress, lovely view from the porch, surprisingly effective combination washer/dryer, and the ability to plug my car in to trickle charge overnight. Things I should have expected but it turns out I did not like: the “kitchen” is really just a sink, a mini fridge, and some countertop appliances, but only enough counter space for two at a time, leaving no counter space for anything else. Fine for heating up takeout or keeping milk cold for your morning cereal, or for making instant oatmeal, but it’s really not for cooking. Also coordinating use of the parking pad with the several separate upstairs tenants. Everyone was nice, it just added a level of anxiety for us when attempting to leave at a particular time. Things I didn’t expect and really didn’t like: housekeeping was below standard. Floor was not clean, bathroom sink had soap scum under the soap dispenser, towels provided were only two bath towels, two hand towels, and three face cloths for two people for 4 nights. And the worst was the bottom sheet on the bed appeared to be a box spring cover and not a proper bottom sheet. The host gave a 15 minutes notice that the cleaners were coming to fix the problem but by the time I read her message we had left for the day and they did not enter while we were gone. They did leave some more bath towels for us by the door. No one is the bad guy here, the place is just not up to my usual standards.

There was a bit of confusion about the booking, but that was resolved. Other than that I had a pleasant stay, quite comfortable.The only issue I still have is concerning the 20 charge for additional guests (It was just me). Will I be reimbursed?

Kitchen too small. No place to put dishes after you washed them. No toaster. No dishwasher. Couldn’t find any programs on TV. Too many flowers using space needed for chores. Parking problem. Not enough room for even two cars. Also door to rest of building unlocked. Another user walked in that they couldn’t get their car out of driveway. They didn’t listen when we asked them to park more to one side. Said the wife needed the space to get in and out of the car. Bedroom was fine, bathroom was adequate. I would remove one of the couches. You can’t open both at the same time. There’s not enough room. I would move the table near the window and put a counter with cabinets against the wall to provide more kitchen space.
