Atlantic Shores Getaway steps to the beach pet friendly, close to Mayo
This property has just had a complete interior and exterior renovation adding modern conveniences while keeping the classic charm. The landscaping was just completed in October 2020 and a bocce ball court, putting green. You'll also find a flagstone patio with a gas fire pit and BBQ surrounded by Adirondack chairs where you can roast hot dogs and marshmallows.
The space A quirky 1942 classic home with all the modern conveniences is just steps from the beach in a quiet neighborhood. It's close to world class golfing, surfing, parasailing, kayaking, fishing, the convention center, and so much more. My family has owned this property since 1964, and I've had a wonderful time restoring and upgrading it since 2019. This house holds many family memories and is located on a beach that I dream about often! I'm so happy to share this place with others and still keep it in the family.
Southern charm and contemporary colors have really brought this house back to life. It has beachy kitchen with butcher block countertops, glass tile backsplash, and stainless steel appliances. The kitchen and downstairs bedroom have tongue and groove solid wood walls and ceilings that my grandfather installed. Off the downstairs bedroom there is a washer and dryer, detergent is provided free of charge, and an iron and ironing board is also available.
The kitchen is fully stocked with Keurig, French press, coffee grinder, toaster, microwave, toaster oven, Ninja blender, rice cooker, waffle maker, coffee and selection of teas, full set of cookware and bakeware, and so much more. It also includes the basic cooking necessities, e.g., oil, pepper, spices, condiments. It also includes outdoor plates and cups to take to the rooftop deck to enjoy a great meal alfresco.
The property has UHD 4K smart TV in the living room, sunroom, and two of the bedrooms, with Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Video, and Disney+ streaming services. It also has a google home, and google mesh WIFI system for a reliable signal throughout the home.
Downstairs features a living room with a large sofa, kitchen with dining table with 4 chairs and a bench, and bedroom with a queen bed, 40" TV with a laundry room, and a bathroom with tub and shower combo.
Head upstairs and you'll find recently refinished original heart pine floors, bead board walls, and original wood ceilings, the charm of this house shines with all the windows upstairs! The second floor features two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other a full bed, and a bathroom with shower.
In addition, the upstairs has a second living area we call the sunroom with its 12 windows, wonderful ocean view, a sleeper sofa that can hold 2 more people comfortably, another 43" TV, a papasan chair for relaxing or reading a book, a small desk and printer if you need to get any work done and a game table with a variety of board games. Finally, head out into the hallway and go up to the large 20' x 16' roof top deck that overlooks the ocean where you'll find a great area for sun bathing, relaxing, dining, and relax and soak up the Florida sun in a hammock fit for 2.
The landscaping was just completed in October 2020 and a bocce ball court, putting green. You'll also find a flagstone patio with a gas fire pit and BBQ surrounded by Adirondack chairs where you can roast hot dogs and marshmallows.
We have chairs, toys, and towels specifically for the beach as well as fishing poles. An outside shower is available at the house so you can rinse off and feel more comfortable. There are also outside stairs to take straight up to the deck to catch the last rays.
Spectacular sunrises greet you on your morning visit to the beach for coffee or stroll and occasionally the dolphins will meet you there. It is known for the flat open beach which makes it great for hanging out at the beach; walking or running, beachcombing and riding beach cruiser bicycles. Playing in the sand and surf is a great way to spend your days, but the fun doesn't stop there!
Since the cottage is at the heart of Jax Beach, you can walk to all the events and festivals within a few minutes without worrying about finding or paying any parking. Many shops and restaurants, featuring local artists and top chefs are within a short walk. Jax Beach Amphitheater hosts many spring and summer festivals featuring well known jazz and blues artists.

Generally clean, however not surprising at the beach… you did have some unwanted friends roaming around on the floor at night. Great access to beach, made going back to location super easy for additional beverages, bathroom. Beach Chairs and Wagon were great to have there on property.
We came for a wedding and the house worked out perfectly. Beach access is very close and a nice surprise were the beach chairs at the house!
Would stay again and hoping to be back soon
The check in was seamless and well communicated. The neighborhood is very nice and homes are beautiful. The rental is a beautiful beach cottage that has everything you need. It is very unique and well taken care off. Close to the beach and nice area to walk. Would definitely recommend!
This place was a gem! Exactly what we needed. Wonderful, quiet, walkable neighborhood 2 homes from the beach access. Everything we needed was right around the corner - groceries, restaurants, on-ramp to the highway, etc. Jaclyn, our hostess, was super responsive. It rained a lot, and we briefly lost internet. She offered to come right over, but also guided us to where the reset was. Easy - no issues at all. All the beachy touches in the home were lovely. I wish the weather were more cooperative; we would have taken advantage of the deck and beach chairs more. But we will book again!
The place was exactly like the pictures. Very homey and clean. Great location and super close to the beach. The neighborhood was pretty and nice to take the dog for walks. Pet friendly house that did not smell like pets!
FYI inside set of stairs is steep, not suitable for young children or elderly. Upper level bedrooms are lovely and access the deck which is exactly as pictured.
We actually live in Jax but wanted somewhere near the beach when my in laws were visiting. The proximity to the beach was so nice! We could eat breakfast, go to the beach, come back for lunch, and head back to the beach again. It was very convenient. There were board games, a putting green, cornhole, and yard games available that kept our 6 year old entertained between beach trips, too. We would definitely rent again!

Worst Vacation Ever
Very small. Pictures are misleading. Construction in all directions. All AC units failed and while temporary ones were delivered, they did not cool the house. Ended up having to leave early as we just couldn't handle the heat.

The construction was disclosed in the listing prior to you booking the property and you even drove by the property weeks before your stay to check it out and met me in the process. Your party showed up hours early and your wife made the cleaner feel very uncomfortable. It was very unfortunate that the AC went out during your visit and we did everything we could to rectify the situation and went and spent $1200 on portable AC units and kept you up to date on how we were trying to rectify the issue on a holiday weekend and then refunded you for the balance of your stay.
One of the few original beach houses left on Ocean in S Jax Bch
You need to accept that this house was built in the 1950's and updated a few times since. The wooden floors on the 2nd floor creak, the height of the ceiling on first floor is probably 6'3 but it oozes character and you are right across the street from the beach. I used to live a few blocks north so I knew the house. If you want a peaceful quiet stretch of beach this is the best location for all of Jax Beach. If you want noisy, go to the heart of Jax Bch, quiet you come here. Jacky was great and quite proud of talking about her grandfather who owned the house and now is in the hands of Jacky and her mother.
This is an excellent property in a fantastic location. If you want to be able to go to one of the nicest beaches in Florida and have every amenity available this is the rental for you. Everything you see in the pictures is exactly as it is when you arrive. What you don’t see is how well appointed the beach house truly is. The kitchen has everything you would have at home, so if you want to eat in you have everything one would need to cook any type of meal. The living areas are great for relaxing after a great day at the beach, but the upper deck is the best! We sat out on the deck both in the evening and morning quite comfortable, enjoying the ocean view and nice breezes. All the bedrooms are well appointed, comfortable, and quiet. The owner has provided all the beach chairs, umbrella, and toys anyone would need for the quick walk to the beach. My wife and I celebrated her birthday while there and were very sad to have to leave. This is one property we will gladly be visiting again for a longer stay. Both Susan and Jacky were very accommodating and checked to make sure everyday little detail was just right during our visit. It was a pleasure dealing with both, who made everything perfect for our beach getaway.
