A lot of issues with the place: Outlets were only partially useable, lack of fire alarms, only some of the elements on the stove worked, and the A/C was only for the bottom floor. However, the location was phenomenal. Quiet dead-end road.
The house was great! It had tons of outdoor space-decks, a fenced in yard for our dog and a great layout for our family. The beach was very close and we could walk to town in 15 minutes. Highly recommend!
The location was great. The layout of the house is perfect. One of the air conditioners didn’t work, the washing machine was hard to operate, the blinds in downstairs master are torn, the shower in master drips, one of the grills is rusted and the house could use some updates.
Our family (six people and one dog) stayed at this house for a week. House was clean and comfortable. It was an easy (less than five minutes) walk to the beach, and a 15-20 minute walk to the pier. We enjoyed our stay here
Gone Coastal was a short break away from our cold, snowy part of the country.
The entire rental process was easy, friendly and efficient.
Our stay was comfortable and fun! We will be back!
Great location! Loved the size of the home.
As with many of the other reviews I agree this VRBO needs some updating. It has a bit of a run down look. It could also use more comforts of home...example dish washing rags, more towels as the home sleeps 8 people and we had 8 people and had to wash towels everyday to have clean towels.
We had a great stay here. House was clean and on a quiet street. Fenced in back yard was nice for our fur babies. House could use some updates and maybe some TLC (chipped paint, broken spindle on stairs, cracked tile, several window blinds broken/not working) but overall a great property. Short walk to beach. Rental company left a starter pack of supplies (trash bags, TP, paper towels, and toiletries) which was a very nice and helpful perk. Cleaning fees associated with this house are higher than any other VRBO we’ve stayed in. Could be do to location?
-GREAT location… close to beach and quiet.
-Nice touch with individual bags per bathroom for toiletries -although soap was so-so.
-Stove burners are poorly maintained making it difficult to use
-Overall very clean but don’t drop anything you plan to put in your mouth after the 5 second rule. Not exactly sanitary.
-No light in area of microwave
-If credit card not charged without permission, we would highly recommend (waiting for final bill)…
Our rental property was very clean with plenty of room for our group of 8. Great location to the beach and shopping but off the main road for quite.
Problems: While all homes need repairs, this home had several spots on the hard wood floor and the deck that were dangerous- one cut my grandson’s foot. Nail heads on the stairs need to be driven down- especially ones on the center of a step.
The “butler’s room” which was connected to the kitchen and contained the washer and dryer had no lights. This room was great for storing our dry goods but we had to use a camp lamp to see. The air conditioner in the dining area didn’t work. When we called property management, no one came to repair.
It was so convenient to the beach! Maybe 4-5 minutes. Beach was fantastic! Saw the loggerhead turtle nests, but didn’t see any going to theocean☹️ We had a great time.
We enjoyed the property and the space it provided us including our two dogs. Personally, I enjoyed sitting in the back screened porch to have my morning coffee . My family agreed that we would return . Many thanks !
This house has a good open feel and was clean. However, the open two story living area and the lack of central heat in the downstairs area was a problem. The weather had been cold in the days before our arrival and the house was freezing when we arrived. Space heaters just don’t really do the trick. We like a cool house at night but we were never able to really get the whole house comfortable. The fireplace was a huge help but we only turned it on while there so every time we left and came back we had to start over. The largest pot in the kitchen was a 3qt saucepan which was not large enough. Few kitchens do not have even a 5 or 6 qt pot. Trying to parboil 8 cups had to be split and done twice. That seemed unnecessary and too easy a fix to not do so. Kitchen faucet was broken and an in general house update due.
This was a great place for me and my family. Plenty of room. My Citadel knob was happy to have a nice place to sleep with plenty of room. Everything was clean. I would most likely stay here again. I would suggest some outside cleaning on the house. Very happy. Thank you so much.
Beautiful location and plenty of room for a big family
It was as advertised first of all! Every room was supportive, comfortable and restful on the eyes. So happy to find nice bowls to use for dinners; one unit on the stove is not functioning but we worked around that.
Everyone enjoyed our week long stay!! The beach is a short block away and the neighborhood is lovely. The house was wonderful and allowed for inside or outside sitting areas with tables for meals. The kitchen was well appointed and the gas grill was great! We used it so much that we had to get a new propane tank for the next residents😎The beds were very comfortable and towels were abundant! We will definitely come back next year for our family vaca!!
Great spot for our seven family members and three dogs. Short walk/golf cart ride to the beach. Plenty of room, and multiple screened in porches. When we stay at Folly, we love picking u fresh seafood at Crosby's and cooking out, and the gas grill worked just fine. Lots of storage space under the house for beach "stuff", bikes, etc. Would definitely stay here again.

Gone Coastal Needs Work
Before anyone else books this property I would check with the property manager as to the accuracy of the listing. The home is extremely dated and in need of lots of repairs. Blinds and doors out to the deck are broken and sticking everywhere. Tiles in the guest bathroom are lifting up, ceiling above fireplace has peeling and mold. Numerous other items need attention. Great location, but this house really needs work. Screen on the porch is completely gone out of its frame. Perhaps the house should be worked on before it is rented again?
